It's directed by Hayao Miyazaki. There is no need to say anything more... (but I will, just because this anime was awesome).
Future Boy Conan is full of adventure, I couldn't take my eyes off it. It's an incredibly addicting series, you don't know what events would come up next, but it's always a pleasant surprise. It definitely felt like playing an RPG (I love RPGs~). A very refreshing feel. This anime makes me feel warm all over :3
Characters are extremely loveable. Wouldn't be able to pinpoint a favourite one though. They're all simply adorable.
There are indeed a number of faults contained in this anime. But they are very insignificant to how much delight you'll receive from watching this. There are some unrealistic situations such as giving air to one another underwater (we exhale carbon dioxide, not oxygen), and the number of bullets Conan was able to evade! The opening and ending songs are also very "old fashioned". As old fashioned as it can be. Luckily, the sounds and background music played lovely tunes in appropriate times. I do not doubt that Future Boy Conan was a huge break through in anime history.
If I did have problems with the art and animation at the beginning, I have completely forgotten about it. Considering its time, the animation was actually quite good. Besides, it's the execution of the story and the characters that bring life to the anime. Future Boy Conan did this very well.
This anime is an oldie, but should not be overlooked. I strongly encourage everyone to watch this. | |
