Dai Mahou Touge was extremely funny... and violent. Like Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, this is a pseudo-magical girl anime without the excessive gory blood. My favourite scenes were when the vegetables would converse, they always had dramatic moments and it was hilarious. There were some fanservice moments which I didn't mind at all, they were simply mild panty shots. Although I really enjoyed watching this anime, I don't know if I would recommend it.
Only Punie and her mascot Paya were interesting characters. Punie's relatives didn't have much spotlight, and they were annoying. Her friends didn't seem to develop much at all, they had the same characteristics from beginning to end. Watching Punie's split personality became somewhat tiring, but I never became tired of Paya, he was awesome all the way through~
The Opening and ED songs weren't as good and funny as Bokusatsu Dokuro-chan's music (I STILL get that song stuck in my head, pu-piru piru piru pi- pirupi~), but it's still quite catchy.
The story was weak, and the typical plot of a mahou shoujo series (I think they wanted it this way), but the execution was good. The animation and art aspect was pretty, the fight scenes were fun to watch... except watching the various wrestling moves. Each event was interesting, and there wasn't anything that annoyed me, things were quite enjoyable. | |
