Kino no Tabi: Byouki no Kuni held a beautiful story even though the events that occurred weren't heavy. In addition, the atmosphere that this movie gives off is quite serene and tranquil, but there will be some scenes or images that give a strong message. This title is quite similar to the awarded OVA "Hotori ~ Taada wo Koinegau", which was an excellent one-shot.
Kino is an adventurer and not someone that I'd admire extensively (in my opinion). His character is quite washed-out. There's no defining characteristic to grab and like. Hermes however... is quite hilarious. A damn motorcycle (Hermes) has more character than the main guy, Kino.
The concept and simple execution was an ease to follow, and was also thought-provoking. This movie touches on some medicine advances and it sure made me think on some issues of science that we may face in the future (or even problems we face today). Things were cute, and events were interesting. Things even concluded nicely (: | |
