It's awful.
I was not impressed at all with Shakugan no Shana. I do not think I can stress this enough, but I find that it is very important to be attracted to a character in order to enjoy a series. Sadly there was absolutely NO character I came to like. None. The relics were supposed to be cool, they were not. The main character was generic (surprise, surprise), and Shana was a tsundere. I'm not a fan of tsundere's....
So much hype, rave reviews, and love for Shana went on. I was certainly looking forward to enjoying a "good" series. Well, that failed. An epic failure at that. Along with the characters, I couldn't care less about the plot line. Character figures would show up saying hello and I'd wonder what the hell they're doing there. The action, I thought, would be awesome... that was not the case. It was very brief, one slash, two slashes with a touch of TOO MUCH FREAKING TALKING!
There were some good points that deserve mentioning even when Shakugan no Shana itself was a horrid title. One, the music was very lovely. I'm very keen about Mami Kawada or Kotoko. The background music, too, was a nice input (although there were some strange violin melodies at some areas). Second, the animation/character design was good. I think they input much emotion into the OP and ED videos, and I enjoyed those.
Unfortunately for Shakugan no Shana, music and art aspects do not relieve the major annoyance and boring factor that is this anime. The character relationships were dumb. Especially the new blonde characters in the later half of the series... jebus. In all truth, I fell asleep watching this anime. I literally would turn to this anime in order to fall asleep. It really helped with my insomnia.
In short, it sucked. | |
