A bit more melodramatic than I would have liked.
Kimikiss emphasizes that love can come from anywhere, it doesn't really matter how you meet. I like this message. It's strong, simple, and I'm sure it applies loads of people. While the relationships were somewhat unique, but they weren't unique enough. At least, to strongly convey that one message. Sure some interactions were unique, however, a majority of the characters were standard. Most characters were really, really boring. I can probably name around 1-2 people with "interesting" characteristics.
There was little humour in this anime. The addition of the "ultimate udon" or Udon Society was a neat-o touch, however, with the serious tone of the anime, it can also be looked at as somewhat ridiculous...
Some good aesthetic appeal in this anime. The songs for each character (specifically Futami-san) was memorable and fitting. The voice acting was good! I actually didn't think the voice work for Futami-san fit her strong demeanor very well at first, but any other voice would have been 'typical'. The art was very attractive too. The combination of great backgrounds and pretty characters.
Events were entertaining. However, later on it became very annoying for me. The foreshadowing was blatant and obvious. What erked me most was Sanada's behaviour. He became all emo and distant! In fact, don't think I fell in love with any character. It's been a while since I've seen an anime where I fell in love with a character at the same time as the anime character. Kimikiss does not achieve that. | |
