I purchased Rune Soldier Louie at an anime convention on the recommendation of the store clerk. It was a dandy sale and she assured me that this anime was very funny. I've been quite picky about anime lately, so I purchased it, but was still very skeptical if it would entertain me. Luckily I did! Rune Soldier Louie was a hilarious title.
The characters are colourful and energetic while the events were just plain silly. I managed to get plenty of "laugh out loud" moments. You'll see everyone's distinct personalities clearly, everyone has a different set of priorities and values - this makes characters less two dimensional (2D). This is a plus since this only seems to be a comedy series.
I love the RPG feel of this title. The costumes are adoring as well. Plenty of cosplay-worthy characters. Though sometimes you're featured with just strings (Genie, for example), there's plenty of scantily clad women in here. Louie is pretty much the only male character in this series. You will indeed face episodes with a great number of fanservice.
The story was... not there. Each episode features some sort of journey and adventure. The end episodes did present a dilemma, but it did not tie in every element of the previous episodes. Also, if you're looking for romance, look further! Rune Soldier Louie does not give you any lovey-dovey situations, unless they wanted to create some sort of silliness.
What it boils down to is; this anime gave me some good laughs with presentable art and animation. It was a fun title. | |
