Of course I enjoyed this movie, The Cat Returns. Do you even have to ask why? Well, because it revolves around cats! I have the softest spot for cats. I think this movie is the perfect short film for every cat lover. You'll squirm in delight and sigh contently at how cute things can be.
Things began quite interestingly. The plot was very simple, not complex like a lot of films nowadays. I found it very easy to follow which allowed me to grasp all the fun things. Simple sets of events, but the theme was still very whimsical. You'll encounter many cats with different characteristics. I agree with Haru that the Baron is quite charismatic.
It tickled me good to know that this was a side-story of Whisper of the Heart, a lovely movie I've recently watched. Unfortunately, Muta was portrayed weirdly. I didn't like him too much.
Haru is a very, very normal girl. She's so normal that I don't really find any defining characteristic to mention. Though for some reason, she reminded me of Risa from Lovely Complex. The events of the movie reminded me of Strange Tale of a Dream Sphere Dealer: The "other world", the escapade...
Anyway, I had a lovely time with The Cat Returns. It had wonderful art and animation. There were many cute factors such as miniature items and, of course, the cats :3
