There are a number of enjoyable things for this one-shot OVA. It's new, so the animation looks splendid. It revolves around magic + humour so you'll have some good fun and laughs. Also, there are a number of characteristically interesting personalities. I hope to see more characers building on like Malariya, Garuda or Thunders (look through the STUDD data). Malariya was mysterious. Her intentions are very difficult to read. Thunders was just wild. He wasn't a character I'd look up to, but he was unique enough to mention.
du5k is right. This title isn't really something worth diving into. While I was viewing this, I wondered to myself whether there was something related to this. Because... well, the production of this OVA would be pretty much useless if it was completely stand-alone. So there's a related game. Of course.
Yup, there were areas of the OVA that were enjoyable such as the dialogue and character actions. However, things are just too damn predictable. There was no real structure in the plot, nothing to gain from Quiz Magic Academy. There were no surprises or unique events. There were a few lenghty shots of breasts and cleavage. Also, when a (tentacled) monster was summoned... you know what's gonna happen. Is there any anime out there that doesn't take hold of 'that' opportunity?
If Quiz Magic Academy were shipped to a more extended installment such as a TV series, I think it would be another dumb-but-fun show. As a single OVA though, not much to gain from it. | |
