Chaos;Head wasn't very good... it just rolled downhill after the mid point. It gave a marvelous first impression. This anime was shrouded in mystery. It had great looking characters and a unique personality for the main character. Sadly, the storyline did not reach my expectations, it became very lackluster and poorly executed. The dilemma's were pitiful. Also, Chaos;Head produced the strangest harem I have ever seen.
Like I said before, I was very keen on watching this anime. I was impressed with a great OP, anime references (Takumi is an otaku), and great looking girls. The weapons look awesome and make the girls very cool. The New-Gen cases were pretty much murder mysteries. Dissociative Identity Disorder, Pre-cognitive abilities, theories of existentialism - all these were cool topics to gather. All sorts of answers were going through my head. I found that the mystery was very intruiging.
Alas, the answers given and the way these answers were portrayed was simply ridiculous. There were delusions upon delusions, with delusions growing on these delusions! The "climax" was laughable. I found that Chaos;Head tried to be something else - tried to sound intelligent by spewing out "the unknown" and whatever jargon associated with it. Attacking enemies became underwhelming. What ever happened to old fashioned slicing and dicing?
I do like how they brought on the question on: how do you know what's real? What if what we see is just from someone sending electric signals to a brain in a lab? The good OP, pretty characters, semi-funny interactions, murder-mystery, cool di-swords are the good points this anime has.
Sooo. Great start. I guess it looked superior when it continued to ask questions. Unfortunately, the answers given made it look stupid. | |
