Cinderella Boy was loads of fun. I've never been so keen to watch more episodes in a long time. It's a shame to know that not many people know of this anime. Considering the title, I can see why people would steer away. I assure you, there's nothing "fairy tale" like here. The title is as such because every stroke of midnight, the main character(s) switch bodies. Within the same body, Rella becomes Ranma, or Ranma becomes Rella.
It's non-stop action in Cinderella Boy. Ranma and Rella act more like spies than their occupation as detectives. You'll see infringement of confidential information, utilization of gadgets, and impersonating someone else. Each episode involve crazy car chases or firing of guns. It was a super fun anime.
I was quite impressed with everything. They began things atypically with the start of their Detective mission. Most anime I've seen, it's usually someone starting their day towards school or something... the ending was not something I predicted either. I was quite happy with it. Not the best ending, but enough not to ruin my overall impression of Cinderella Boy.
The characters were awesome. Very well animated (not just artistically). They were individuals. You can't compare them easily to any other anime characters. Ranma looks a bit like Lupin... hah! Rella was really awesome. She had spunk and beauty. Rella was also really clever, was very familiar with technology - unlike Ranma.
Some miscellaneous things. There were plenty of giggle-worthy parts. Alamis's "My Angeru!" always perked a smile from me. The Opening and Ending were 'Okay'. I give them a pass since they're associated with this really good anime. The ONLY downfall I have with this anime are some action scenes. Bullets would fly everywhere and the main characters wouldn't get hit! It's odd because they're simply running straight, no dives or somersaults. Simple jogging.
Overall. A very fun anime that I would recommend. There are some great characters and enticing action. Go! | |
