Story -- 8/10. The story of Eureka Seven isn't anything particularly special, unique, or intriguing at first glance (that's how I felt when reading the synopsis), and I was hoping the story would be better when I actually started watching it. Well, it wasn't really. It's basically your average story about a boy going through his phase of being an adolescent who wants something more out of life. He then meets a pretty girl and friends along the way. That's pretty much what it comes down to. This is a great slice of life/action anime that strives to be much more, incorporating several romances into the anime; some that work, some that don't. What I started realizing in watching Eureka 7 somewhere around the middle was that Eureka 7 is the most random anime ever. There will be completely random things happening that are never fully explained, if explained at all. Overall, the story works well though with the pacing and subplots of the characters, even if it's very random at times.

Characters -- 8/10. The characters in Eureka 7 are all generally very enjoyable and very likeable to watch. My biggest problem though is centered around the romance between the main characters, Renton and Eureka. It's a typical story of Renton falling in love with Eureka at first glance with Eureka not realizing her feelings for him till later on in the anime. I never truly believed in their relationship, nor did I care at all about it. Reason one being that Renton and Eureka are both very young, in their early teens, and very annoying. I felt that their romance overshadowed the action and the slice of life scenes a little bit. There was just too much boring romance and chemistry between the two main characters. Reason two is that Eureka is a complete robot, and the english dub voice acting is not good. She acts like a complete robot the entire time. This is not interesting to watch, nor interesting to hear as her voice gets very annoying sometimes. I had some other problems with romance though involving other characters. Eureka Seven felt, to me, like it was just too sweet (or 'cute') of a love story. I felt it wasn't serious enough for the overall feeling of the anime. There were too many major relationships that weren't really interesting nor original and just felt superfluous, like a burden to the anime that dragged down the pacing. My favorite characters in the anime were the crew members of Gekkostate. They added a lot of comical relief to the anime and were just fun to watch as side characters. They were perfectly used and are great additions to the character list.

The character development was great. The audience gets to see Renton evolve from being a loser-eque schoolboy at the beginning to an adult who knows what he wants to do with his life. All the characters are incontrovertibly conflicted and are complex, which makes the viewer interested to see how they'll be able to pull through. In the end I felt like although the characters were generally likeable, the voice acting for Eureka was bad, and the relationships slowed down the pacing of the anime. Oh, and things are just completely random and senseless sometimes.

Graphics/Animation -- 9/10. Graphics and animation pretty much just kick ass in this anime. The graphics are great and the character costume design is interesting, especially the costume designs for Anemone and Gekkostate. The drawing and coloring of the LFOs are simply divine and a joy to watch. The animation can be superb at times(especially the action sequences) but at other times, I felt as if certain episodes were animated by a completely different person. Sometimes it's choppy and very badly animated, which confuses me since everything else is usually spot on.

Music -- 9/10. The opening and ending theme songs had great energy to them that really embodied all the spirit and energy of the anime. The BGMs used during the action sequences were great and really fit the mood. They weren't always that catchy, but nonetheless fit the anime completely.

Enjoyability -- 6.5/10. Whilst I gave every other category for this anime a pretty high score, it fell a little short on enjoyability for me. The storyline would sometimes just drag on. And on. And on and never seemed to end. Renton and Eureka's romance was extremely boring to me and I didn't care about their relationship at all. Especially towards the ending, I found myself becoming more and more distracted while watching the anime, causing me to have to go back and watch it a second time just to get all the details. Eventually, I couldn't motivate myself to keep watching because it was honestly just about saving the world and Renton and Eureka at the end. Towards the end, everything started becoming completely random and unbelievable and some scenes even bordered silly. I think the producers were going for creative and wow-inducing, but it was just extremely random for me. I won't spoil some details, but you should go watch to see for yourself.

Overall: 8.1

You should watch Eureka Seven if you enjoy watching romance animes and are a fan of action, but be sure to have a lot of time on your hands and be distraction-proof.

I highly recommend this show.

I started this show without any prior knowledge of its plot and found it both addicting and rewarding, an extremely favorable mix for me after finding several anime shows only addicting.

The plot moved at a very comfortable pace, I did not once feel like I was being rushed through the plot and very rarely did I feel like the show was procrastinating, the one instance being the recap episode. Though the plot movement is much more aggressive in the later episodes, the plot is continually moving with a few good sub-plots woven in.

The character development did not leave me wanting, with almost all of the characters either growing or becoming more understandable. The characters are very believable and relatable. Possibly my favorite thing about this show would have to be Renton's development. From the start of the show he is possibly the most believable character I've ever seen in an anime. He acts like an actual fourteen year old would be expected to act, not blatantly immature or creepily adult, just a young man doing the best he can to be considered one of the adults.

I also have to give it up for the bright, shiny colors and the awesome music, which drag you in and don't let you go. Easily one of my very favorite animes of all time.

I'm a big fan of the giant robot anime genre, so this is hard for me to say. Watching Eureka7 is about as boring to me as most activities are to Rentin.

The plot is overly convoluted, and as much as I love to try and figure things out in an anime before the happen, this one is way too hard to follow. every time I try, I get nothing from watching the show but a headache. After watching the series, I still know nothing more of the use of these LFO's or the strange light that comes from inside the planet than when I started. I cannot even understand what kind of benefit can be derived from the light to begin with.

I give this a 5. Perhaps I just didn't get it, and maybe someone else can enjoy it more than I did. To me, it just seems like there are better things you can watch, like Big O.

I'm not really a mecha fan. Period. Within recent times, the closest I've gotten to a mecha would probably be last exile. Mecha just brings to mind long 100+ episode series with dull animation, lots of dialog, and excessively complex plots that will leave you completely confused in minutes if you happen to see one episode.
So anyways, since Summer is ending(more school ahead), I wanted to cram in a few more series before classes start, so I watched Eureka 7 in about 4 days. I deeply regret it. Why? Because it was AWESOME.

Animation 9.5/10- As a fan of Ouran, the similarity in animation was very apparent. Each scene was an ease on the eyes (I mean, the explosions are pink!), it was always filled with color, yet I never felt like it was being overdone(asides from a few occasions). It really adopts a surfer style through the bright colors and sharp cool designs of the settings and mechs, but you can still sense that there is a darker side to things from smaller occurrences, such as Eureka's appearance and Vodarek.
On a side note, I would like to give credit for the use of hair changes in the series.I never realized how key the hair was in recognizing characters. It's not anything new, but the artists did a great job in utilizing the hair to express the general feeling of the character as they progressed over time while also being coherent with the plot.

Story 8/10- It was a great idea to merge mecha with romance, but if you break it down to the plot, well, its not really the best part of the series. While the established settings and scenery were very nice, extra explanations of the scab coral earlier on would have been helpful. I spent quite a while pondering about Coralians while other events were occurring, and the end is hardly satisfactory factually, leaving some questions unanswered. While this means re-watching eureka(yay!) i still could have used a more solid explanation.

Characters 8/10- To be honest, i found most the characters to be dimwitted, slow, or just annoying. But all the characters were relatively consistently portrayed, never diverging from their personalities.

Enjoyability 10/10- What i loved most about the series was that you can never expect what elements to get in a single episode. Eureka 7 brings comedy, romance, mecha, sci-fi, drama, and mystery all to the table.

This combination of elements creates an honest setting which makes the love between Eureka and Renton all the more real. You could really feel the bond between them growing over time, and through the hardships they endure, when they reach a point where everything clicks (example: episode 26), you cannot help but to be pulled in.

Overall 9/10

When I first watched this series, I wasn't sure I would like it. I'm usually drawn to dark tones in anime, and of course this show was very bright and colorful. I was surprised though, in spite of the bright and lush color it really wasn't all that overwhelming.

I can almost say the same thing about the music. Even though I'm not a big fan of techno, and considering that theres music in almost every scene, I wasn't overwhelmed by it and it was actually well blended with the visuals.

As far as the story and plot goes I think the dialog could have been better. I mean how many times is saying someones name too many? Other than that the story was actually pretty touching at times. The underlying message that I felt was ultimately conveyed in this series was "what it is to be human" and "the meaning of family" but thats just me. This series was neither blatant or too vague in conveying this statement.

Over all, a good solid work. Again, the only problem I saw was the almost predictable dialog.

Eureka Seven was a fun ride, it had two nice things going for it. Strong character development aided by a large cast and the overall epic story.

Renton, Eureka, Holland, Anemone were all big developing characters which took up plenty of screen time to develop their personalities and characters as the show progressed all the way to the end of the series.

The epic story about the 'end of the world' only came as hints here and there but it was not till the very end that we truly understand what is going on.

Music was great, animation good, story good but there had to be side stories here and there to help out with character developement and those didn't advance the plot. Still overall the episodes were interesting and kept me engaged with the whole premise.

I didn't feel the level of attraction to this series than from others or the true emotional impact. I don't really know why, it could be Renton was really stuborn and whiney sometimes but whatever the case I would still buy and recommend this anime but its not a must watch for everyone.

This anime talks about Renton, who always dreamed to be an air skater. It has 2 parts:

-Except the begining, the first half is just filler and filler. It talks about Gekko go's routine. The characters are always mad, angry or depressed. Every episode Eureka's children cry, and I just couldn't stand that 'till the end. Holland give punches, kicks and shouts against Renton, altough this one is a very good person. Eureka is disgusting and has no feelings, like a robot. Sometimes, near Renton, she shows her tooth, but I don't know if it's a smile. Renton is somewhat charismatic. He loves humankind, but it's in a syrupy way. He is always in trouble, because he wants to help people. No serious plot at this half, but the characters are well worked out.

-The second half has the plot: sometimes not well explained, it can be considered good. New characters, like Holland's brother appear and they make the anime more interesting. Holland's anger is in part explained and Eureka becomes more human. Renton changes too, he becomes more adult. The end is fine.

7.5 Plot (second half is good)
8.0 Characters (they are complex, but sometimes annoyng)
9.5 Music (the first from opening is the best)
10.0 Art (it is well painted, altough it has 50 episodes. Few playbacks)
8.0 Overall (a bunch of nonsense fillers)

Eureka Seven is an anime lovers dream, it has everything one would want in a show. An intriciate and brilliantly woven plot is combined with engrossing characters, the best anime soundtrack I have ever heard, and gorgeous visuals. You are going to laugh, cry, and gape in awe at what this anime has to offer. If you enjoyed shows like FMA, Now and Then Here and There, Last Exile, Rahxephon, and Cowboy Bebop, then this is right up your alley.

The only flaws of the show are some parts of story progression towards the end that seemed to be manufactured, as well as a slow start. The first eight episodes are riddled with filler and don't go anywhere, but after you get past the first eight the anime just takes off and never dies down until it culminates at episode 50. This is one of the few shows I would give a 10, not because it was groundbreaking in anyway, but because it succeeded brilliantly in everything it attempted and left me extremely satisfied.

This is another great anime by studio bones. The animation in this series is awesome! It is sweet how they do the particle effects when the character uses the abilities of the LFO. Also the characters, mechs, and evironments are very well done. Character development in this series is done a bit slow but when you really find out the good stuff about the characters you realize they have a lot of depth. Few of the characters seem 2-D most all the characters get to be understood better. The music is great, it has upbeat hip-hop stuff and sad instrumental music too. Music is even the basis for one great but somewhat sad episode. Last is the story is kind of confusing. But it all makes sense at the end; then again what do you expect from the studio that brought you RaXephon? Overall this anime gets a 9/10.

This was by far my favorite anime. It was just amazing. The characters, the plot, music, the way it flowed, just a work of art, the work of a genius.

The best part of this anime was by far the characters. Everyone complemented someone else. Holland complemented Renton because that was who Renton wanted to be, and did in a sort of way. The Talho later on complements Eureka because that was who Eureka was becoming more and more like. Everybody just complemented someone else. It was just great.

Another amazing part of this anime was the plot. I loved the plot. A boy, who doesn't know what to do with his life, meets the girl of his dreams and decides to go with her and leave his old life behind. He then becomes a companion to the girl and they both go on adventures and discover thing about themselves. They later learn a secret about the past and learn that they are in a war, but boldly march forward taking on anything in their path. Then they later go on to save the world and live the rest of their days together. Just amazing.

I love this anime. And I know that if you watch it, you will too. You will love the characters, you will love the story, you will love the music, you will love everything about the anime. You may even love it as much as I do. 10 out of 10.

AWESOME anime!!! One of my top list...
The first thing I love in this anime is the wicked board moves, I mean like whoa those people got to have nerves for steal flying and doing stunts in very high altitude!!
Then the next is the music, especially in episode 2 where the kid flew in the middle of a dog fight. what cool rockin' music (too bad I didn't know the title) and great opening and ending song. Love it!
Then the character designs, they look cool!! Not too glamourous and not too boring, is it me or Eureka & characters looks like BECK's or SAMURAI CHAMPLOO's? Well who cares! They rock!!
The mechs looks okay, not bad... it's just that most mechs almost looks the same to me, except for some mechs like EVAs and GUNDAMs (they're exceptions) but love the board idea, I remember just one anime who has a board also...hmm... I forgot.

I don't know what the hype is about, I really don't. I've never been a fan of Neon Genesis Evangellion, and this anime falls in the pitfalls that NGE left behind, it even created it's own.

I don't have a problem with Renton, he's an annoying whiny coward and plays his role, I just don't know what Renton is. Shinji is an annoying whiny coward because he is a runaway with a bad life and finds the conundrum "what am I fighting for?" and answers it with "to protect the people of the city and prove I am my father's son. Renton on the other hand isn't a runaway, his life doesn't suck as bad as Shinji's, he has no excuse for being as annoying as he is. He joins up with the Gekkostate without a purpose or drive. He doesn't know what they do, doesn't know why they're enemies of the state and he doesn't know why he fights others on their side, he doesn't know who he is fighting. He just wanted to hang out with a cute girl that was a member of the ship and he just likes being somebody elses bitch, taking orders from other people just because. Everybody bitches him around and treat him like trash, telling him to clean the ship and fight when they all owe him their lives. But does Renton care, no he's in it for the attention.

There are many times when I think "finally, some character development" but most of them are false alarms. It's usually "WAAH why doesn't Eureka love me?" Renton is always talking, thinking to himself just as Shinji does (not crazy like Shinji is though) and all of it is meaningless garbage. I try to make sense of it. Somebody that wasn't listening as closely as I do mistakes it as wisdom and development. He words every little detail as if it's a damn documentary and most of what he says implies meaning though it has little.

The bottom line is that I hate Renton not because he is an annoying little runt, I hate him because he is a pointless waste of space that has no purpose for existence.

About the story, I don't know how to explain it except with "trash". No I mean it's litterally trash. It's as if the story was worked out by the producers in a game of madlibs. Nothing makes sense. Teenage enemies of the state, that own a flying ship the size of an archangel, pathetic lame. Wait I'm not done, the leader of the ship is a surfing celebrity! O_O Still not done. I'm about to baffle your mind with more, he's an ex-soldier... that harbors an alien! The story isn't as all silly as you'd think from what I'm telling you, it sucks. The story tries to introduce chunks of memories at a time in non chronological order as if trying to convey depth and purpose. It's about as shallow as I convey it. It's dramatic at times I'll admit but that doesn't fill the giant hole in the plot.

All the damn colors. On the battlefield, everything is either pink or green. Smoke screens are pink. Trails left by the mechs are green. The ship is green. It's not even colored very well

One Word....AWESOME!!!

Eureka seven is one of the best anime I've watched until now and I'm really looking foward a second season ( even if no one ever talked about one until now )

The songs in this anime are just awesome and fit with the content ( I have the whole instrumental LOL )
The characters are Awesome too cause you can identify yourself to at least one of them easily !
The animation and color in this anime are SO NICE!! it's so refreshing to watch. I HIGLY RECOMMEND IT TO YOU!!!

ah a strong point: even if this a mecha anime , not everything is based on those. It's more centered on the relationship between Renton and Eureka and how Renton becomes a man .

If you like action and nice mecha move you'll surely be served by this anime cause there are plenty.

Overall It's a must to see for EVERYONE! Yes you, and you, and you too!

Really awesome songs, nice character development, and not overly depending on mecha/fanservice to progress the story for being mecha/romance.

One of the strongest point of the anime is definitely the spread out tension that makes the series easy to watch, and makes you want to keep at it until you are done with it. I think it was one of the easiest anime to watch that many episodes in a matter of few days. Even the anime that I like and really well done gets boring at some point, but this one begs to differ. Renton's journey to grow up to be a man (very typical theme of shounen anime) takes you to many interesting and unique characters, and the story totally charms the younger viewers with the action and older viewers to ponder at hidden symbols and motive of the characters.

I picked up Eureka Seven for it being in one of the top rated series. I must say the first few episdoes disappointed me. Renton acts like an wuss, the animation is bad, and story was crappy. I find the "seven swell" itself very lame; its like going super saiyan in a mecha.

It was until the second half the story got deeper and more plot twists; things got interesting after the main characters finally made progress in the main plot. And the ending is fantastic.

Plot
It certainly looked like amatuer work. The first part was full of the life aboard the ship and how the protagonist make a fool out of himself. It didnt have much to show actually, but it was still enjoyable. The last part was really intense with a lot of things going on... it certainly changed the mood of the anime.

It does give a very complete feeling to the anime though.

Story
Renton does not have to be a total wuss in the beginning... it was sickening to look at him. But at the end it was brilliant to see the things he made up his mind to do. The love between Eureka and Renton played a very strong part in the series, the thing they will do for each other is very touching.

I couldn't really get over how mechas actually use surfboards to fly. I mean, you can surf on the sea but you might as well use a boat. I found it pretty stupid to see mechas performing surfing manuevers.

Animation
The animation is ok, except for some of the 3D effects, which are pretty good. Motion camera isn't really done that well.

Music and sounds
I like most of the openings and endings. The VA's are ok and I didn't really hear any good special effects...

Overall
Despite its many faults, the story is still really likeable. It was really good after all, and I would recommend it to everyone.

Eureka seven is a pretty interesting anime, when I watched the first episode I became mesmerizied.
I thought it was going to be a simple anime full of action and the love Renton felt for Eureka, but then there seemed to be so many mysteries, what's the Nirvash, who's Eureka, and what's the freak of nature called coralian.
No matter what though this anime never ceases to amaze, this anime is to complex for words alone. Eureka Seven is a great show and is worth every second and the anime is to die for.

Eureka seven is a good anime but sadly it was kinda killed buy the Evangelion series. I still love it though.
STORY- 9
well under normal circumstances I would've givin it an 8 but the romance made me cry, one for the fact it was too sweet and kawaii then two because it made me cry for the first reason (my masculinity was crushed by an anime) the reason I would've givin it an 8 is the uncanny similarity to Evangelion like I said, they're too close for comfort, it killed itself because of that

MUSIC-10
the music was awsomeness on a cheese it. Just unmatchable, the only song that messed it up was Canvas, the last ending. My personal favorite was Halcali's Tips Taps Tip

Characters-11
the characters were memorable and just had you loving them unconditionally, it was great! My favorite was moon doggie!

OVERALL-9
everthing was good like I said, the weakness in the story just killed it, sorry you die hard fans...

This has got to be one of my favorite animes I've watched. At first I didn't think it was all that great since it looked pretty weird at first. But I thought the opening was pretty cool, so I decided to watch it. After the first 3 episodes, it was like, wow.

Storyline: 10
Why? Because it was amazing. The romance was amazing, the scenes and all that. Some parts are well.. to me sad actually aha. But the story was very good!

Graphics: 9
The Graphics were simply amazing. But.. so is all other animes and some are even better but still.

Music: 10
The songs were all amazing! I couldn't stop listening to most of them. Like Days and Shounen Hearts, these songs were excellent. I'm still addicted to these songs.

Overall: 11
I give this an 11 because I would of given it a 10 for all the great music, storyline and the mecha/character developement but at first I misjudge this anime. So I gave it a 1 extra bonus just for misjudging it. I recommend it to most watchers if you like Mecha + Romance, this definitely has it.

Well, after going through the whole season, it is an anime worth the time. Of course sometimes the plot really takes too long to devellop and you can get tired of it. Fillers? Well, maybe some more wouldn't hurt, if those are one episode fillers, not a whole bunch like some series as Naruto or Bleach. Animation is really well made, although it sometimes animation feels off. You'll see. Character design is great. And the mechanics design is awesome (well, I like Mecha). The plot is well thought and has lots of surprises too, but I'm not gonna spoil any of it. You have to watch it. So, overall, it is a good anime and was well worth the 51 eps.

What can I say? This anime is one of the best I've seen this time around, other than Utawarerumono. The character development and the story development are simply great. The first 26 episodes are more about character development and for the audience to get to know the characters more. The next 24 episodes focus on the story development. Quite well planned out, I might say.
STORY:10
I give it a ten as I have said that the story development is good, even though it might be complicated to some people. The complexity and the way the writers bring out the story is what I like best. GOOD JOB!
ANIMATION:9
Good animation, although the ones subbed by nanashi sucked.
SOUNDTRACK:10
BREATH-TAKING. the songs in EurekaseveN are some of the best I've heard. Well, if u have 'Home Made KAZOUKU' song as an OP, you will think its good right? ~SHOUNEN HEART~
OVERALL:10
I jus simply like this series, so I will give it a score of 10. WATCH IT!!

In the start, after reading a few readers' reviews, it seems not many people liked this series, but oh well what the heck, I thought I should give it a shot. After watching a few eps, I got hooked to this. The songs and the storyline for this series is good while the plot development is exciting. The character development is really good as well. In the start it just shows the life of a boring kid but later, the plot develops a lot more. I would recommend this series to most people and I really liked it. Therefore I'm giving it a 10.

Introduction
In a world where there is no huge body of water to surf, Eureka Seven's world depended on an invisible wave called the Trapar in order for them to do surfing.

The story revolves around Renton Thurston, the son of the famous deceased hero, that loves to do surfing as fun and sport, but living in a town where there is no good Trapar waves, he soon feel bored until one day, an LFO (Light Finding Operations) in a shape of a robot fell onto his house, and from it, a small girl called Eureka, emerges out from the unit's cockpit.

From there onwards, Renton and Eureka went on a journey with a group called Gekko State, where they are going to be involved in something big about the world and in the journey, found comfort in each other's presence.

Genre: Sci-Fi, Drama, Romance

Storyline: Near perfection!!
It can be pretty deceiving when you see the first episode of this anime. At first, I thought that it is basically a surfing anime on invisible waves, but I was completely mistaken after watching a few more episodes.

The story development is astounding, to the point where I just can't bear to stop watching the anime even for a single minute. The detailed events with some filler episodes in some part of anime helps to develop the characters inside Eureka Seven to become drawn to them.

Although there are a lot of characters in the anime, each one of them are given ample screen time, so details about the characters conveyed in the anime are very generous and that details sometimes help to explain some of the events that unfolds in the future episodes.

Some part of the plot seems to have some holes, but they are not significant enough to affect the good integrity of the overall plot.

Graphics and Animation: Pretty good!!
This anime's graphic may not be favourable to a lot of audience, but I feel that it has its own beauty on the screen. It is not incredibly detailed, but good enough for the enjoyment of watching it.

The animation's fluidity is normal, except for most of the action scenes, where there are tons of missiles dodging maneuvers.

Not incredibly outstanding, but not bad enough to the extent that you want to smash the screen =P

Sound: Very good!!
This anime comes with ample amount of OP and ED songs. It has a total of 4 OP and 4 ED songs from different artists that sounds good and fits well into the anime.

Sound effect is incredibly exaggerated at some point, but it joins well with BGMs and other sounds effects that comes into the screen.

Opinion: Perfectly Positive!!
A total masterpiece. I can say that it has been a while since I watch a long anime with such a good story and development. I highly recommend this anime to nearly anyone since they are pretty generous in terms of story. Some scenes may have certain amount of gores, but that is used sparingly for dramatic sake.

Rating: 9/10

The second and third times I watched this, I loved it even more than the first time. I do not say that lightly. I cannot believe how much this SHOW digs into the very heart of what makes humanity human. The emotions you have while watching the series are entirely unintentional. This series should be watched by every single person on this Earth, because it is so relevant to everything we do. As soon as I finished the second viewing, I started thinking about my ideals, my future, what I want to accomplish in my life...I think that the biggest thing about Eureka Seven is that I've finally been able to realize a little more who I am and what I yearn for. Every time I listen to the music I get shivers. Every time I see the word Gecko/Gekko I get shivers. Every time I see/hear/remember/think of ANYTHING that reminds me of Eureka Seven, I GET SHIVERS. I had to watch the whole series THREE TIMES to even come CLOSE to stopping and thinking about how awesome it is. I cannot possibly recommend this series enough. It's just not conceivable.

Story:
Eureka Seven tells the story of a 14 year-old named Renton who lives with his mechanic grandfather. Renton has always lived a plain and boring life. But one day, his life is thrown away when a mech called Nirvash crashes into his house and a young girl called Eureka pops up asking to repair it. Shortly after that, the military mechs get involved.

Review:
Watching Eureka seveN will drive you crazy with all those battling, it is loaded with fights of mechs (a machine that a person pilots inside).

There are a lot of chracters in the anime but each of the characters are different looking so you can easily recognize them and also the characters really have different personalities. The main character (Renton) is really hilarious so it makes the anime more entertaining to the viewers.

The music blends really well with the anime. It has all sorts of music to make the anime more refreshing and alive. You can feel the mood of the characters or the scene by hearing only the music when combined with Eureka seveN.

WTH was this production? The mecha use surfboards!? GOD why didn't I think of that!? BECAUSE ITS STUPID. The mecha design itself didn't look that bad until they used the surf boards. Other then that the plot was whimsical and complete nonsense.

The main character, I forgot his name because it was so forgettable was a whining little pussy that did nothing but complain about his life. He is not someone that I'd ever want my children to look up to. Friggin ingrate! He has no ambition and no personality. The girl was a little better but she is reminiscent of a couple of other girls from games that I've played.

The gekko state made no sense. They're a team of mecha pilots that do stunts and whatnot while fighting other surfing mobile suits that are apparently enemies of the state. More butter on your lard? That’s pretty much how stupid this anime really was.

LFO- The concept behind this was absolute garbage. The technology made no sense, they threw in a lot of made up terms to make up for the lack of logic. And the name LFO- sound like UFO? I mean come on, come up with a better name. LFO isn't going to be the new Gundam I’ll tell you that.

The animation was pretty good but it was pretty standard. The flashing lights they put as trails for their surfing LFO's were put there so it'd blind you from other aspects such as the fact that they the suits had very limited mobility...no vector propulsion, the units had to circle around every time they make a pass because they can't go in 3 dimensions. These units move crummy. Realistically, today’s jet technology would be more then a match for these pieces of junk. Having only one point of propulsion (the surfboards) which only moves from behind hindered the possible performance these units could have had because their turning capacity is reduced significantly.

Music was terrible and so were the sound fx. Voice acting wasn't good, in both versions. The English voice acting in particular was worse then usual.

All in all if you're going to go against my advice and watch this crap then I suggest you watch the Japanese version because the English version will make your eyes and ears bleed.

Eureka Seven is a really good and solid anime to see. I've never been crazy about an anime like this one before.

Story:
It's really interesting, deep and some of it's like reading from a mythology book. When I watched the preview it looked like a beautiful show, but kind of boring. However, after catching last 10 minutes of an episode, I was glued to this series for the summer. I watched all of it in 2 weeks. The show is more than "Boy meets girl on goes an adventure." This show has its comedic, dramatic and surprising moments. You'd have to keep watching until it unfolds and unfolds until it reaches the great CLIMAX of the show. Good thing this show only had a couple of filler episodes.

Animation: I'm glad BONES worked on this series. I couldn't picture it any other way, quality is important. The whole show reeked of beautiful scenery, people, and mechs. Because of the animation, it also made the mecha, ships and much battles better. There's no sign of the laziness in animation throughout the series, even if it last 50 episodes.

Characters: Characters are nice, I have a few I'm obsessed about. They're all unique in their own way. Gekko State crewmembers have their own jobs and weight to carry. Surprisingly the only character I dislike is Renton, I just didn't have enough patience for him especially in the beginning. And the background of some characters are really intriguing. As the story progresses, you'll see some character developments or personality changes.

Mecha: The LFOs and such looked a bit weird, but cool. That doesn't mean the battles are going to look stupid. How the mechs fly in this show repelled me from watching it in the first place. Soon after I was amazed after seeing them fight. The battles are what counts when thinking about this department. There was some mecha shows including Gundam that looked pretty good, but were pretty boring to watch. The mecha scenes are enjoyable in this series.

Music:
The music fits the mood of the show .There's music that are pop, techno, hip-hop and rock. I personally enjoy all of the openings and endings, which are upbeat. The 3rd opening has a nice song but nothing special about the sequence compared to the other ones . However the insert songs are pretty amazing, just the right kind of music the action needs. The openings make good insert songs as well.

This anime is one for the best of this decade and the best in my book. Don't judge this series on how it looks like I did. First few episodes might not impress you, but don't stop watching there. Try at least a couple of episodes and you might become hooked. It's for both guys and girls and I think I'd still watch it in ten years or so.

This is my review on Eureka 7

Storyline

Interesting enough to keep a hold on me. A few twists and turns here and there, with a few major ones. However, although it seems to be a linear storyline at first glance, it has a complex background to it. The background to it is being gradually told throughout the series, and in the end, I think they didn't leave much loose ends save for one or two minor ones.

Rating: 8/10

Characters

This is the strongest point of this anime. With the backing of a long season, they really develop their main characters in-and-out. If you look hard enough, you can see Renton's physical changes from start till finish. And the changes of personality also struck a chord with me, as episodes fly by. However, there is a downside. These changes are only limited to the main player of the series. The side characters, especially the Gekko-Go crew member, have little to none character development. But this is compensated with the development of relations between the main characters.

Rating: 9.5/10

Animation

Being a long series with 50 episodes, normally there will be time when animation starting to lack and flaws in characters animation started to show up. Some recycled scenes here and there too, but doesn't go to the standard set by Gundam Seed (Destiny) though. Overall though, the animations were just beautiful. The mecha fights are a sight to behold

Rating: 8/10

Music and Sound

OST is composed by Saoki Nato. The timing for the mood is ok, and the tracks used are good too. However, the tracks used in the last arc (~40 episodes till the end) are just superb in the songs and timing. It really brings up the mood of the scenes. 4 OP and 4 ED sequences were used. With the exception of the 3rd OP, all other OP were nicely done and goes well with the music and the mood of the anime, with the 1st and the 4th OP in the top of the list. Since I don't usually watch the ED, I can't give any comments on that.

Rating: 8/10

Conclusion

Many critics of this anime says that it is an Evangelion look-alike/rip-off. They might be right, however this anime have the advantage of having many more episodes. That means, the story can be deeper than it first seems to be, and many character development can be included. And with a much more complete ending than Evangelion, this is better. However, I need to give you a tip. The first 10 episodes ARE a bit sucky, but hold on to it and be rewarded.

Rating: 8/10

Another one of those alternate worlds or alternate realities kind of anime where the setting is on a 'different world' or planet. I just love stuff like this, like 'Last Exile' and others which doesn't necessarily need Earth as the primary story grounding..

With a different planet/world, differnt rules apply such as the physics and the interesting differences that make for a good basis for a story, basicaly the world in Eureka 7 has this thing called 'trapper' or 'trappar', which is like something in the air, an energy source or natural occurance, it's just there in that world they're in, and people can ride the traper waves just like surfers do.. kinda like wind surfing, only the trappar are like the waves of water for a surfer.

The mechs here aren't really all that good looking, and they are more like bio mechs, just like in the lines of EVA, I suppose.. I was skeptical as usual to try this one out because it doesn't seem all too impressive at first. However, the story was more than enough to get it going. The pacing is good, in my opinion. They're making good use of the 50+ episodes alloted for this series. The quality is also pretty consistent throughout. I like the music. Its really catchy and the choices for the op/ed songs of the respective arcs/seasons are just damn good choices of music for the show.

Characters are varied and enjoyable, I like the differences: age, racial differences, and personalities that the 'gekko-go' aka 'gekko state' crew have. They seem like a bunch of surf junkies banded together at first but after awhile, the series gets you to focus on each of the individuals, so the character development of the show is good.

Comparing the anime to the manga, there is a huge amount of difference when it comes on how they deliver the story. the plot direction may be the same but how the story is told differs. This is only one of the few shows in which I actually liked both versions of medium. Though they are different in content I enjoyed both of them. No rants of disparity or anything here. They're just both good on their own.

This anime has a good solid story. I really enjoy watching this series even if sometimes, the episodes seem dragging to some. Personally I really didn't feel it to be dragging. Each episode is unique from my perspective. There's not a lot of 'same old-same old' scenarios(common stuff found in most animes) of interaction of the characters here and the seiyuus are the best choices for each characters. They really do bring out the characters well.

Overall, this series is pretty good, at least for me. I like good, long, eventful stories like this. Though first looks of this show maybe not be all that impressive, it actually is quite good. Heck, it's become one of my current favorites, and it will probably stay in my favorites for a good long time.

Earlier reviews weren't done with as many releases as there have been up to this point, so I feel a new review should be done in light of the progress this show has been making. At 50 episodes, and 36 released thus far, Eureka seveN has proven to be one of the best anime I have watched ever.

You've got the basic synopsis above, and that is good enough to keep from giving too much away. This show has much more depth to it than one would see from a first glance. It's not just mecha, and it's not just the growth of a single character. Let's see how it stacks up in the general areas of scrutiny.

Animation:
Without a doubt, top notch. I have seen no CGI used at all, and that's saying something in the digital age. I'm not sure if digital animation has been used for this show, as it was with Love Hina, but for a 50 episode show, not a one shows signs of lacking in the looks department. Perhaps the best eye candy comes from the main draw of the series, the mecha combat. All of it is airborne, and performed with such speed and butter smoothness, you'd swear it had to be digital. I can count on one hand how many times a scene has been recycled, unlike your typical Gundam series.

Characters:
What more can I say than that nearly every significant character goes through some kind of growth as the series progresses. We don't just see the main character deal with his flaws, but we see the supporting cast grow alongside him, and change with the events that unfold before them. I don't want to get too detailed as to what kind of changes take place, because to do so would ruin the experience for a first time viewer of this show, but I can assure you, it's all done at a remarkably realistic pace.

Music:
The music is by no means forgettable. I have both OSTs, and love them equally. There's a brilliant mix of both new age techno, electronic, rock, J-pop, and sweeping scores that stir the soul. Maybe that's just me, but this kind of score ranks up there in my book with work on the caliber of Kanno Yoko. My favorite OP thus far has to be Taiyou no Mannaka he (To the Center of the Sun), the third one of four. Unfortunately, the quality of the animation for that OP sequence in my opinion drops in sharp contrast to the other two thus far, but the grittiness of the sequence has purpose.

Story:
Once it unfolds, Eureka seveN's story tells the ageless tale of man vs. nature, of man vs. his inner demons, and of love in time of war. Yes, we start out with normal kid Renton Thurston living in sleepy little Bellforest, seemingly unimportant compared to his heroic father and skilled mechanic grandfather. Once Renton meets the enigmatic Eureka, joins the crew of the Gekko-go, and pilots the powerful typeZERO Nirvash, everything changes forever. He can't go back to who he was, and nether can the others. Thirty-six episodes in, you really must make the time to play catch-up to truly appreciate this story.

All in all, I'm anxious for the main fansub group Nanashi to finish up what's left of the series, as it has already ended in Japan. Fourteen episodes remain, and it's anyone's guess here in the States as to what destiny awaits Renton, Eureka, Gekko State, mankind, and the alien world they live on.

Eureka seveN...when I first heard about this anime I didn't know what to expect. I heard it was going to be aired on Adult Swim so I had to check it out. I thought at first, 'oh great, another mech series with flashy animation to draw in the viewers', but I realized that they are essential in the overall main purpose of the story. Much to my surprise, the story has a lot of depth to it, something that a viewer can't tell with just watching a few episodes.

Plot/Story The story is about Renton Thurston and his relationship with a girl named Eureka and a rebel organization called Gekko State. In the world they live in, Reffing (something close to Surfing or Snowboarding in our culture) is a huge part of the culture because of the Trapar (waves of energy) in that environment. Gekko State is fighting its own war with The Federation Government, their objective: can't say for spoiler reasons. LFO's, human operated Mechs that Ref, are the main tools for battle. The plot at first seemed simple, guy meets girl, guy falls in love with girl, and then guy chases after girl. However, there's a deeper meaning behind Renton and Eureka's relationship. That meaning is something I can't reveal because it would ruin it for those who haven't started the series. These two pilot the original LFO of that world called the Nirvash TypeZERO, which is one of the key components to the story. The story at first seems hard to follow because of its vagueness, but as the series progresses on, you start to understand people's pasts and how it effects their present situation and their future. There is a mix of drama, action, and romance in this story so it'll make your emotions riveted to the situations.

Characters The main character, Renton, is trying to find a purpose in his life. So he joins Gekko State in order to figure out what that purpose is. Each character in Gekko State has their own goals that they need to accomplish. However, it seems like their goals coincide with one another's.

Sounds/Music A lot of the music background for this anime is a mixture of trance and techno, which is fitting for the culture that they live in. The culture that is rebellious to the law, showing independence and freedom. Also the intro and ending songs are pretty good with compliments from the animation.

Animation A lot of anime's out there draw characters that are generic and cliche, but the characters are drawn very appealing and unique so you won't forget their faces. The animation for reffing and battles are also well made.

Overall Watch it with an open mind and don't give up on it too early. I highly recommend it and personally put it in my top ten anime list.

Eureka SeveN is my personal favourite anime of 2005-2006. The animation is superb as well as its storyline and other characteristics.

Plot The plot is an ongoing plot that relates to one of a long anime such as pokemon or naruto. Because this anime doesnt stick to one plot, it basically is a story about a child named Renton whose family members are legendary people. His grandfather, being a famous mechanic. His father, notorious for his actions in war and knowledge in LFOs. His sister, we do not yet know. Renton is visited by his hero and a girl named Eureka where she pilots the legendary LFO, the TypeZero. After his and his grandfather's garage/home is destroyed, he decides to travel with his hero and his team on a journey. 9.5/10

CharactersCharacters are mildly unique. Although they show their own unique characteristics, they hardly intrique the audience. But they do a good job serving their purpose. 7/10

Sounds/Music Music is exceptional. The second opening song is my personal favourite. Also, sounds are of any anime and is almost irrelevant. 10/10

Animation The animation is best of other modern animations. Its quality brings out the sharpness of the characters and machines especially during fighting scenes. I rate Animations 10/10 possibly 13/10

Overall I rate this anime 10/10 because of its story line and its superb animation and sounds/music. To all viewers and curious anime fans out there, this is a MUST WATCH! It would be a crime to miss this!

Review based on fansubbed episodes 1-14...

ANIMATION: I think all anime art is just getting more visually attractive as computer-animation technology is improving and Eureka Seven is no exception. Combing 3-D and 2-D art, we are rewarded with an incredibly beautiful background with equally beautiful character design. (10/10)

MUSIC: I haven't noticed much about the in-episode background music, but the opening songs and closing songs are lively and upbeat; a perfect compliment to the mood of the series. (9/10)

CHARACTERS: This anime has a huge cast, which to me, is not a good thing. There are people on board the Gekko Go who I have seen countless times, yet I still cannot recall either their names or their on-board duties. And that's not even mentioning all of the military officers and mysterious leaders who get even less screen-time, yet seem to have an important impact on the storyline. However, the main characters in which the series revolves around are both entertaining and realistic enough to be believable and likeable. (9/10)

STORY: The story of Psalm of Planets: Eureka Seven seems to be a mish-mash of other series. We get giant robot battles a la Neon Genesis Evangelion, tied with poor, work-hungry renegade bounty hunters a la Cowboy Bebop. Throw in a mystery surrounding strange events in the clouds a la Last Exile and boom, we got our story. Though these individual concepts have been done time and time again in the anime-world, it is tied together nicely in this series to keep the story flowing smoothly. (10/10)

OVERALL: The story and art are the main draw Eureka Seven. Of all the series I'm watching this season, this is the one that I am the most excited about. The mecha-battles are awesome and the daily-life scenes on board the Gekko Go add a nice light to the crew. There is some romance between the main characters and there is mystery surrounding their background. This is how anime should be. (9/10... 4 1/2 stars)

Eureka Seven is a pretty good anime. Compared to other anime's it might not be that good, but I think if you like romance, a little bit of comedy, and meccha anime's then you should watch this anime.

E-7 is about Renton who has a driver that always says Eureka, and one day a girl named Eureka shows up in a meccha and ask Renton's grandfather for help. Eventually Renton boards the meccha with Eureka and the story begins. Not much of a plot there for you, but you should give the anime a shot.

The music in E-7 is nothing special, as I can't even remember any titles or songs that I heard in the anime.

All in all, give this anime a shot you won't be dissapointed. I was skeptical at first but after a few episodes I was really hooked.

I must confess that I loved this series in the beginning because the characters were very cool and interesting and the setting was very well made too. The character designs by Kenichi Yoshida are stylish. The animation is one of the best I've recently seen and furthermore this series is made by Bones - all good reasons to think Eureka 7 was something great.

Something great? No.
After Renton's dream (joining Gekko State) is fulfilled in episode three or two, the plot writer couldn't think of something interesting anymore. The story can be summarized as 'The Daily Live On The Gekko Go'. Sometimes they try to create a mysterious atmosphere but those attempts are just ridiculous.

Other notes: The fighting scenes are too similar to the ones in Gundam and Evangelion.

Have to give this show a 10 because its just everything most animes aren't, or just improved version of ones that "are".

Each character is unique and well explained, or kept secretive, to make you watch more just to find out the little details. Even the background characters, or one of scene characters in Eureka 7 are well defined and drawn. I sympathise with the main character, Renton, as anyone would who has watched Naruto before (i.e. a left out kid, kind of lonely). The other main characters are all well designed, such as Eureka and Holland, with their attitudes, morals and views on life that suit this anime well.

So moving on to the animation. I would say its extremly good and clean. Everything is detailed and it really brings this magnificient world to life compared to some animes which just care about the main character designs. It remins me alot of Samurai Champloo and the first episode of Speed Grapher, where you can tell a lot of effort has been put in by the art department and they have done a very good job.

The music is good that is used throught the episodes and the intro and outro, all though not great, suit the anime to get the nice 'airy' feeling.

The story so far is a bit of a 'hide and let peak' plot where it's not a direct wander through each episode to an end point where we are all satisfied, but a development of characters and histories that will eventually tie everything together into an overal journey.

I'm not a big mecha anime fan and never have been (or probably will be), as it reminds me too much of Transformers, but the wind surfing they do and the whole feel of a 'beach boy' really suits how theyve incorporated future technologies with something that's so simple.

A conclusion then. I would strongly suggest watching this show as its the real deal and can be a nice break from the hardcore story lines and immense action in such things as Bleach. Animation is great, story unfolding is superb, the music is well suited and the characters are nicely defined.

I hope this anime carries on with the good stuff and gathers a following which it so strongly deserves.

Wow, this is a pretty good show! Eureka Seven has awesome fight scenes along with some funny moments that will just keep your attention the whole entire time.

Eureka Seven is about a boy named Renton who lives in a run-down town in the middle of nowhere. Renton likes to ride his air board, like his idol, Holland, but in his run-down town, he can't ride as well as he could because there are no air "waves". One day, a mysterious beautiful girl in a giant fighting robot crashes on his house, and Renton begins his adventures.

The animation is top-notch. The action flows great, with no sudden changes or super-quick battles that leave with a "what happened" feeling.

This show is a must-see! It's very entertaining because it's not like other fighting robot animes, because the robots are on air boards, which is a nice touch.
