Sights
*******
Graphics and character design were a little off mostly due to the age of this series.
Sounds
*******
I didn't really like most of the songs although a couple of them were catchy. The opening song was upbeat and carried a good rhythm while the ending song was slow and a little difficult to listen to twice. There were a couple melodies that were pretty good.
Opinion

This series was alright for me. The storyline was interesting although the way it was presented was rather carelessly done. There was really no building element as everything just seemed to happen in all directions. I think this series would have done better with more filler episodes to build characters or something. Character development was mostly surface material. The main cast included: Maya Kitajima, the talented actress whose skills were discovered only through chance meetings and the greatest of fortunes; Chigusa Tsukikage, Maya's passionate and very violent teacher who was once a star actress until an accident brought her world crumbling down around her; Ayumi Himekawa, a young actress who grew up in the spotlight as she followed in the footsteps of her mother into the acting business; and Yu Sakurakouji, who finds himself falling for Maya while knowing that Maya is out of his reach. My favorite character was Hayami Masumi, the young president of the biggest entertainment company. He was one of the first people to find an interest in Maya's talent and found ways to anonymously help her whenever he could. Masumi's a stern character for the most part but he finds a soft spot for Maya even though she hates him with a certain intensity. As a person, he was somewhat forced into his position by unyielding expectations from those around him. To those who know him only through business, he is a heartless workaholic whose only real interest is in his company's name and popularity. In my opinion, Masumi is the most layered character in this series and despite his many flaws he was a very likeable character. The ending to this series was ridiculously inconclusive. None of the characters really changed from what they were at the beginning of the series--everyone save Maya, whose ending wasn't as good as it could have been. I still can't get past what happened to Maya's mother in the end. The poor lady deserved better than what she got. I wouldn't recommend this series to anyone. I honestly felt that Glass Mask was a really bad waste of valuable time.
