Well, episode 50 is finally here and I must admit this is by far my favorite of the Zoids series. I'm a big fan of the Zoids universe and have seen every series up until now with the sole exception of Fuzors. The plot is kept fresh and interesting throughout the 50 episodes and the story does not ever seem to suffer from "fillers", especially when you consider Chaotic Century. Character development is well done as each character first appears to have a simple personality, but as the show progresses extra nuances are revealed or develop. It's especially interesting to watch the main character's development throughout the series. The animation is definitely top notch as the CGI of the zoids and the cell-drawn characters mesh very well. Also typical of the Zoids series is the very realistic/animalistic movement of all the zoids. Special effects are tactfully done and never feel out of place. Genesis definitely delivers some of the best visuals of the series.

However, the series is not without it's drawbacks. Watching Murasame Liger "evolt", a process which takes a full minute, gets tiring after the first dozen times you see it. Thankfully they condense the "evolt" in later episodes to the point where it only takes a fraction of the time, which really helps keep it from distracting from the episode. Similarly, some battle shots are recycled throughout the series which are so obvious that is distracts from the episode. However, these pitfalls are fairly minimized and it's easy to overlook Genesis' shortcomings given all it has going for it.

Plot: 10/10
Definitely an excellent plot for the series. The story never seems to drag out through all 50 episodes.
Art/Animation: 10/10
Excellent visuals, but enough with the evolting ;)
Characters: 8/10
Some characters are a little one-dimensional, but most are quite well done, especially the main cast.
Music: 8/10
Nothing that really stands out in the soundtrack, save the opening and ending themes. However, the soundtrack is quite good as the music just goes with the show and never distracts from the anime. In some cases, the lack of music really enchances a scene so in that regard I think the music is top-notch.

Overall Score: 10
Now I know if you do the math, it should be a 9, but I'm a Zoid fanboy and that's an automatic +1 to the overall score. So sue me ;)
