Honestly, the storyline is as original as Girls Bravo is from Final Approach. Still, I enjoyed every bit of this anime as much as I would enjoy a refreshing and interesting storyline. There's no doubt that this is a satisyfing joyride.
Animation: The animation is very clean when not put on a close-up. The animation wasn't exactly bad but since it's pixelated like a game would be, this brought down some points for the animation.
Audio: Very soothing and fits with every theme it appears in. It's not very memorable after a good weeks worth of watching but it doesn't mean it wasn't good to begin with. The voices also fit the character's appearance and personality very well. The shy girl sounded shy, while the sweet, but sometimes ferocious, girl sounded sweet with a little spice. I enjoyed the audio very much!
Storyline and Characters: The storyline is a basic love triangle. Guy tries to win girl and ask female friend for help, only to find out that female friend loves him very much. Don't forget to mix in the soft school rooftop conversation! Even though you know you heard this before, this anime will still satisfy you if you bother to overlook that matter.
The characters are really predictable and cliched but all that does is makes the anime easy to get into. I enjoyed watching a girl confess herslef just as I predicted she would. Still, there are some occasions where the characters may shock you with their actions.
Overall: This anime may not be the most original chip on the block but it deserves a lot more praise for being so brilliant and predictable all in one. I think you'll enjoy watching this if you don't mind predictable and I wish they would turn this into a series real soon.

School Days is a decent portrayal of the typical H-game romance, but since it is only an episode long (and the fact that it is a preview for the H-game of the same name), many aspects of this anime will be rushed.
Ikou sees a girl who usually takes the same train. He finds out that she is Katsura and that she is a quiet, shy girl who likes reading books. Unfortunately, he is too shy to approach her. All of that changes when Saiounji Sekai snatches away his camera phone, and, finding out about his crush, brings the two together.
Character development goes reasonably well as Sekai helps bring the other two together; you can clearly see that while Ikou and Katsura's feelings are getting more and more mutual, Sekai is feeling more and more sad, disappointed at what she has done. Perhaps it was during the course of all this interaction that Sekai realized that she began to feel more and more attached to Ikou. However, due to her raucous, energetic perseonality, is she likely to show any weaknesses? I highly doubt it! Human nature is like that- people want the person they love most to be happy.
However, I'm not too sure that Katsura and Ikou make the best match. Perhaps they are, but usually combining two -quite- similar personalities isn't such a good thing. The reasonable choice would be Sekai+Ikou, but as I am not too much of a fan of loud, energetic girls, I cannot bring myself to support them. Too bad there is no ending; you have to find out yourself by playing the H-game. T.T
Anyway, enough on this love triangle; I think I've ranted too much on it already. Besides... the synopsis practically is about the whole episode.
Lineart is fairly good, and nice effects were used when coloring this anime, but nothing really grabbed me aside from the designs of the girls... In faraway shots, the characters didn't even move sometimes; they just stood and sat there like motionless dolls while you heard their voices rambling on. Backgrounds looked a bit like paintings and in close up shots, like paintings.
The storyline can be a bit "iffy", but I actually grew attached to it during the course of this episode. Perhaps it was the small cast of characters...
It's a nice twist, and you can't help but at least cheer the main character on a bit, since he is the shy type.
I can agree with hara about the music; when I listened to the BGM and the ending theme, I felt like I was playing DDR. Simple, bubbly songs, but they don't really grab your attention... -.-.
I don't know if I like the title "School Days" much; there are too many animes/games out there already with the basis of a romance brought out in high school, college, or such. It doesn't really grab your attention; I got this on a whim... otherwise, I would have thought it was another one of those on-the-hill stereotypical romance animes. (Which it is, but the characters are quite charming in their personalities.)
Quite nice, quite nice overall. Nothing too fancy, but nice, pure, simple characters added to a, shall I say, fairly expected storyline makes for an OK watch for an anime.
