Synopsis : Ichigo Mashimaro is a 12 episode anime adapted from a manga about five girls: Nobue, Chika, Mui, Matsuri, Ana.
Most of the story takes place at Nobue and Chika's home. Nobue is Chika's older sister. Nobue is laid-back and easy-going, while Chika is more responsible and hardworking. Mui, who lives next door, is the same age as Chika. She is very outspoken and her behavior is rather strange.
The other two characters, Matsuri and Ana, are both a year younger than Chika. Matsuri is very shy and soft-spoken and most everything she does is adorable. Ana comes form a wealthy family in England; ironically, her knowledge of Japanese language and culture is quite refined.
Most of the comedy revolves around Mui's interactions with the other four characters. Her outgoing movements and relantless personality are overtly humorous. On the other hand, the distinctive personalities and insecurities of the characters contribute to the anime's subtle humor.
The colors used in the animation are soft and light. There are lots of pinks, purples, and yellows, and much of the animation is peaceful and calm (sort of encompassing Nobue's personality). The opening theme is very cute, and the ending theme is soft and reminiscent of "strawberry fields".
The anime takes the five characters through the seasons: going to school, playing outside, eating food, and mostly sitting around being cute.

Story & Characters/Dev: 90%
Despite being a very simple series, Ichigo is one of the most memorable slice-of-lifes I have watched so far. As with other series of the genre, it is the characters that made this show so engaging. My favourite would be the little gags between the quirky Nobue and the very playful (wild and crazy) Miu, usually ending with Miu being hammered. Indeed, it is the way the characters interact with each other that made this so memorable and entertaining despite the short length of merely 13 episodes. I also like how they this series is maintained with a pure and innocent mood throughout the series – no fanservice, just pure simple and cute jokes here and there. Ichigo Mashimaro isn’t all just about comedy; it has a nice blend of touching moments as well.
Animation/Graphics/Design: 85%
Simple art style and design, accompanied by light colors are used to effectively portray the innocent and laid back atmosphere of the series.
Music: 83%
The OP is cute and cheerful, with a very catchy tune, just like its series.
The ED was just alright though.
Summary:
Although Ichigo is one of the best slice-of-lifes there is,
sadly, it seems like it is also one of the more underrated series.
Ichigo Mashimaro: definitely highly recommended!
personal overall rating: 95%

A very cute anime about these little girls going about their everyday life. One of the better slice of life/ comedy out there, I think. There’s no storyline, the series just portrays the little stuff they do and the everyday things they did find more interesting than we did. What’s really good is, unlike other series of similar genres, there’s never really a boring moment :3
It isn’t particularly unique, and like every other series of the similar genre, there’s this character that’s a little bit crazy, Miu. This kind of made her the main character of the show. Although Miu tends to get on my nerves easier than characters of similar design, she has a very deep character design and cute personality that I just can’t hate.
The art quality is relatively good throughout the series, using light pastel kind of colors to really bring out the mood. Both the songs are really good too.
I see no reason why not to give it a perfect score.

This anime made my list of favorite animes of all time. Its at times funny, cute, and touching. As I was watching this, I couldn't help laughing all the way through. At the same time though, there were moments that almost brought you to tears, they were so moving. I think everyone wishes their big sister could be like Nobue. And secretly, I think a lot of us wish we could be like Miu, or at least had a friend like her, so annoying sometimes you just want to smack her, and yet funny and crazy enough to make up for it. The filthy rich foriegner Ana, who despite being from England, speaks horrible English and is completely embarassed by where she comes from and her last name. Her best friend Matsuri who is smart, adorable, and clueless at the same time.
I can't recommend this highly enough. The artwork is well done and the characters are so well developed that we get to know each of them. The only negatives to this show were the opening and closing music, and the fact that sometimes the episodes seemed a bit long. This aside, I highly recommend it for kids and their parents. There is no nudity, no swearing, nothing really offensive at all. Fun and safe for kids of all ages.
