I really was convinced that I would like this series. While the synopsis wasn't anything clever, the first five episodes were really endearing to me. I think they did really well with the first half of the series, but things became very willy nilly afterwards. The delivery was very poor. Most of you won't expect much from this series, which is the right decision. However, don't be fooled even in the first few episodes!

What I really liked about this series was the portrayal of love. Asami is portrayed as a young girl who is very passionate about her husband. She's the heart-throb character of the series. She's humble, a great cook, considerate, and kind. I actually found her cute most of the time, and how she wished to express her love physically was something I could understand. The one thing that Okusama wa Joshikosei did very well is develop a very deep atmosphere around the characters' feelings. I really felt the love.

Unfortunately, events drag and it's problem after problem. Asami becomes TOO much of a heart throb character and pretty much has every XY individual going for her. Instead of added drama, I just found them a nuisance. I never once thought that "they could be the conflict between the Asami-Ichimaru relationship". Ichimaru-sensei was another run-of-the-mill guy, but he does have some charm points in his personality. One thing that significantly angered me (more like pissed me off!) was how USELESS he was. The wife was expected to do all the daily cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. When Ichimaru happened to take these chores, he couldn't do any of them. How awful!

The fanservice was actually to my liking. It was not overdone nor scoff-worthy. Not to say that it was tasteful... but I enjoyed how it wasn't forced upon you or that most situations were not caused by "accidents".

In general. This is not a fantastic show. It is sub-par, average, and laughable sometimes. Molenir (previous reviewer) made some great points about the storyline. I, also, was thinking of how the heck did they become husband and wife? How did they meet? What situation did he propose to her? (He doesn't seem like the initiating type). Where is the rest of the family? All these holes were aggravating to step over. This was the weakest area for this series.

A saving point was probably Kuri (the cat). Many animated shots of the home were able to capture Kuri in the corner or him sleeping. It made me smile each time :) I wish there were more interaction with the cat.

I did enjoy the show at first. But later on in the series, I felt that the main cast were bombarded with ridiculousness. It boggled me to know how far Asami & Ichimaru sensei would go just to keep their marriage a secret. Sticking with its direction and premise, this show is one of the rare ones that would be most suitable as a 6-part OVA.

This is a simple fun anime that while it isn't great, neither is it bad. The basic premise is that a high school girl marries her teacher, and then they have to keep it a secret, while simultanously trying to please her father by remaining celibate.

The episodes get a bit repetitive. At the very beginning of each episode, we are told that the girl has a secret, that she married her teacher. I pretty much picked up on that after the first episode. However, it was repeated in every single one. The music, though not terrific, was good. The OP and ED could have been better.

The biggest weakness I thought was in the plot. We are never told how this 17 year old girl met, fell in love, and then married her teacher. How did this happen? Furthermore, how did she keep this entire thing from her best friends? I mean, its not a small thing to be dating and then to get married. Setting that aside, the main problem for them is that she is his student. Its unethical for him to be her teacher. So if he either transfered, or if she did, the problem would be solved.

The worst part about this from my viewpoint was how she had to keep it from her friends. I mean, I can definitely understand why, but lying to them, it felt like such a betrayal everytime she talked to them. They're trying to stay friends, keep in contact, etc. and she is racing home every day, skipping activities with them in order to make dinner for her husband, and she can't tell them why.

Truly sad.

Overall I enjoyed this series. It had a good deal of light humor, some fanservice, and a wholly silly situation. It was fun to watch, if only to find out who would interupt them or nearly catch them next. Despite some things, I reccommend this show.

Rofl this anime just makes me have a good time watching and makes me uneasy waiting for the next episode. Oh gosh, imagine a girls who's 17 marrying her own teacher, her friends trying to make her hang out with the teacher without knowing they're married. The female teacher trying to hit on the husband of Asami [the 17-yr-old high schooler] and her underage neighbour wanting to rape Asami! omg this is hilarious.

Asami is also a bit slutty, she's always wanting her husband, or Ichimaru-sensei to make love to her. :O Well maybe not 'slutty' but craving for it.

Anime is just watched for jokes, if u need to laugh or just simply distract urself from daily life problems this is your chance. Download this and have fun ^__^

I didn't expect much from that series and in fact it didn't deliver much to me either. Every episode starts with an story introduction told by Asami and encoloured by that annoying music. You may think that the story with a hishschool girl marrying her teacher and then keeping it a secret very strange and in fact there are many situations that are not logical. The mishaps in the series are somehow artificial and are not believable and very often you ask yourself 'why don't they tell the truth already'. With the show being not believable you don't feel any tension to find out how the story's going to end and the characters totally lose any depth. With the jokes being killed by the boring whereabouts I didn't think the show was funny - even the ecchi scences were somehow boring.
Somehow it reminds you of Ichigo 100% but I think Ichigo 100% is somehow more interesting although I didn't like Ichigo 100% that much either.
