Synopsis :
[warning: This show contains some very ecchi (Think of eechi as kinda an "R" rating...) scenes heck it's just kinda eechi anyway...]
After the death of his mother, Taro Hanaukyo has lost his place to live. He ends up turning to his grandfather, whom he hasn't seen in forever. The catch is, his grandfather is living in a mansion, run by waaay to many cute maids willing to do all the work, and this provides MANY opportunities for some pretty blatant fan service. The catch to all this is Taro is allergic to all of these girls, and thus turns a funny shade of purple through most of the show. One maids names Mariel though, seems to be everything that Taro is looking for, and soon becomes the love interest. Now Taro just has to figure out how he can live in this house, and survive the attention that he's getting. Aside from the eechi-ness, (that tames off a bit after the first few episodes) you've got your typical anime maid show.

This anime is pretty much a joke. I do not recommend watching this. Makes me wonder why I went through it. Yes, I completed all 12 episodes. It was not fun. If you happen to disregard this review and watch this terrible show, I beg you, don't expect anything serious! In fact, just expect the worst!! Perhaps that state of mind will result in some pleasant surprises. Be thankful that it's only 15min episodes.
Hanaukyo Maid Tai was a decent show. It was semi-entertaining. However, what makes this an utter failure is that every aspect was weak. The story was weak, the characters had little attractive qualities, and the music left much to be desired!
Oh gosh. The story. First of all there was so much sexuality in this anime. Not that sexuality is a bad thing on its own. However, when coupled with a main character who is merely a middle school student, it seems wrong! They're also quite misleading... they bombard you with nudity in the first episode, leave the nudity out for the rest, and then bring it right back at the end! The story was pretty much an excuse to have a guy surrounded by, literally, hundreds of maids. The anime shows miscellaneous events of what's-his-face (Taro) settling into the mansion and interacting with the maids, he develops a crush on the head maid Mariel.
Characters: AWFUL. Well, they're actually not that bad. There were some interesting characters such as Cynthia, the mute young maid and the zany technology maid (you see, this anime is so great that I don't remember their names at all). The major point though. Taro, the main guy, had NO good qualities that deserves such affection from all these maids. He was sometimes pathetic. For example, letting all the maids do whatever they want even when he was against it - he did not confront them.
Direction sense was alright. Making it somewhat entertaining. Also, the ending was probably the best they could do with what they had. It did not conclude any issues, but I think they tied it pretty well. However, Hanaukyo Maid Tai is not something I'd recommend. The OP and ED sequence are meager, and the story is awful. Do not take time out of your schedule to watch this, it is not worth it.

The other reviews have it right, Hanaukyo Maid Tai is a huge fan service show. Also the plot is not deep or even all there. That said, it's allot of fun to watch. Think of it as a B movie, if you know going into the movie that it's just a B grade you can enjoy the heck out of it and not be bothered by bad effects or plot holes. Actually, as long as you know ahead of time that it's a B movie those things can make the movie even that much more enjoyable.
In allot of ways I enjoyed this version better than the cleaned up version that came later. This one had no pretense to be anything more than it was.

Well, just not a lot going on here. Yup, it's big-time Harem like you'd imagine. Naked girls chasing around the main guy with some titillating and embarrassing scenes. And that's about it. Ho-hum.
There were some likeable enough characters. I liked the body-guard. No-one who was offensive or anything like that. The artwork was good enough for this kind of series, but nothing that could save it from a bad review.
I was thankful that the episodes were short, and the opening and closing theme songs seemed long (I just fast forwarded over those, and quite a bit of much of the episodes too). I was glad when it was over.
So, if you're into this kind of random-naked-girl and silly-happenings kind of fluff, enjoy. Just don't expect alot of substance/depth with the storyline or characters here. 2 1/2 STARS. 5 out of 10 Rating.

Another one of those series written with poor imagination. Very much like those regular harems series you always see every season.
Plot
Like one of those common harem series there’s practically no plot to talk about, you know what you’ll expect; character and relationship development for the main character’s main hos, the character with a “attractively gentle" attitude, etc. It has one "major" arc though, the kidnapping episodes, but it had a stupid reason it actually happened, and what follow after the kidnapping is just some very clichéd story.
Story Style
I might have liked it better if they just focus on the ecchi-ness instead, for at least is it good in that. Well, actually apart from the poor start and lame plot, it has some nice character development and humor. But the rest, well, is written with poor imagination. They must have nothing else to show to display the credits twice for the last episode.
Animation
Very static scenes. Some nice animation for the humor parts, but that’s that. The character have weak character design (animation wise).
Music and Sounds
My, the opening theme is really, really boring. At least the ending theme have some perks. Nothing particular about the VAs, I guess the good ones steer away from this anime.
Overall
I passed it on the account of a barely satisfactory watch, which comes from the side characters. Other than that, I find myself trying to skip though a lot of scenes.

This anime is hilarious!
Poor Tarou inherits a LAAARGE house from his grandfather, and everything within it ( including maids, lot's of maids... ).
He's a kind kid and as such he tries to help other girls and is scared of getting any one of them fired and to avoid that is even ready to sacrifice himself ( which is nice of him considerig his allergy ).
this short explanation of Taro's character shows that characters in this anime are not just there to be there, but are developed ( relation between Taro and Mariel reminds me of Keiichi and Belldandy from Ah! My Godess anime, altough Taro didn't have chance to express his love to Mariel )
art in this anime is well made, with sweet details which makes it even more funny. 10/10
sound, well singers are good ( cute voices ) and songs are sweet, while characters voices are well chosen. 9/10
plot/story idea is funny, only problem is that this anime isn't ended, it is not explained what happens next. 8/10
overall 10/10 I liked it, funny story, nice characters, nice art ( bit less fanservice would be good too... )
I'd recommend it to everyone who likes good laugh with some sweet story, but is not offended by lot's of fanservice.

If it is one thing this anime has, it's GIRLS!!!!! So be prepared for all the fan service that comes along with it!
The animation was smooth and didn't really leave behind anything to lust for.
The music, though not to my taste, suited the anime really well.
The plot was definitely something new and fun to: the idea that there is a mass of cute girls trying to provide ' service' to someone who is allergic to woman, is a hilarious concept to watch.
But what really irritated me, was the way in which the series ended. Tragic! I was expecting something else. The way in which first you're treated to a warm fuzzy feeling as the episode ends and you see the two main characters staring at each other longingly; and then, having that ripped away as you find out that that is the end of the series. Really! Due to that dissapointment, I've rated it lower than what I normally would have done.

Okay yeah, so maybe it's not that great of a show.. buy why an 8? well it delivers what you'd expect.. and if you expected anything more well .. your to blame..
as stated above there are a lot ecchi scenes .. surprisingly they still leave you guessing about some.. which might keep you wanting to watch a lil..
yes this show is wat it is.. lil 15-18min short clips of a lucky lil boy getting know a handfull of his maids.. and thats just tip of the iceburg..
for some reason the intro song seemed really catchy to me.. its an old anime so video quality wasn't as great as it is now for some shows but its still pretty good..
If you just want a good laugh.. and have some mindless fun.. go watch this.. but even if you don't you won't be missing out on something great..

Well Hanukyo maids is about a kid who inherit a big mansion full of maids and whats worst is that he is allergic to female except the head maid Mariel. I wonder why?
There is fanservice, nudity and something like that (in other words lots of ecchi). Strangely there is no story line to follow in this anime just lots of your basic comedy. The animation is quite good but why is it rarely that the main character open his eyes? The music is not bad no complain there.
In conclusion, the complain i have is that where is the story going, why is he not allergic to Mariel, where is the ending and what happen to his eyes? Did he see too many naked woman till he have eye problem? Some question unanswered and leaving you clueless. But still a good funny anime to watch.

A the beginning Hanaukyou Tarou's mother died. He is off to Tokyo to find his grandfather. When he reaches to the moutain and starts to climb up. He finds a mansion and all the maids rushed out to greet him. It turns out that he owns this mansion. Mariel appears to show him a video clip that his grandfather left behind. He is the new owner of the mansion. Later on when he has to go to school he takes a helicopter and suddenly he becomes popluar. He falls in love with Mariel the more he gets to know her. This is an anime you have to watch it's pretty good.

What this show is doing is taking the popularity of the maid anime and giving it a complete fan service make over. The plot is simply to thin to really let anything develop, and the way the maids keep pushing themselves on Taro gets tiring even in the shorter 15 minute episode format. The animation is pretty well done, (Maybe I just have something for anime girls w/ purple hair or something

This is blatant fanservice. Tons of maids in a house all willing to do anything this kid asks for.... Lots of unnecessary nudity and the storyline is weak.
Animation is alright and the story is very far fetched but it is mildly amusing to see they are willing to do anything for their master even though he is allergic to girls =P
I wouldn't waste my time on this even though those screenshots look quite tantalizing. You'll be yawning like I did and wondering why the hell didn't I listen to kaiser? heh.
