I was surprised that I actually enjoyed this anime. I had watched the first episode of this anime when it was released, and was not too impressed. The premise was wretched. The story started with this "American Idol"-like introduction. While the background surrounds music, the songs were only "okay". The one defining setback of this anime though, is the main character's (Tomo) voice is so damn annoying! There was a number of features that were substandard in Lemon Angel Project. However, it was still entertaining with many fun perks.

The enjoyment outweighs most of the faults. Though I'm presenting a pretty generous score for this anime. I would not recommend this to everyone. The style only fits certain tastes. I would reckon that females would enjoy Lemon Angel Project significantly more than males.

The OP and ED are typical "idol" music. I'm sure they fit a certain group. I'm guessing the pop-culture of Japan. I enjoyed the ED song more than the OP. There was plenty of funk within the background of the ED song, while the OP didn't seem to have much emotion to become attached to it in any way. As for the music played throughout the anime, they are pretty much on the same level as the OP/ED songs- nothing special, but not horrible.

The characters, thankfully, are not annoying cookie-cutter stereotypes. It may seem that way at first, but I personally think they had a genuine charm. Unfortunately, the character work was pretty two dimensional. The only background we get to discern is Erika's personality and history, which I found to be an enjoyable experience. Nothing much comes out from the other characters, if or when they do, it's pretty meagre.

The premise made a poor impression, but the direction was quite good. The competition was catty (not a good thing), but enjoyable (as always). In fact, the direction was pretty surprising! I never thought the main climax was going to be what it was. Considering that this was only 13 episodes, I think they did quite well with the pacing and ending.

Overall, I felt that I had a good experience with Lemon Angel Project. The production was of good quality. Also, the characters/animation was quite attractive. Their efforts were consistent all throughout the series.

Lemon Angel Project is one of those shows that do not become popular but are actually pretty good.

The story is very similar to other pop idol stories but this one has a more interesting background. We have the originator of project having died though we do not know how and we have one of her colleagues wanting to bring her dream to fruition. This dream includes the main character who is the model that the original lead singer was designed on and who the songs were written for.

While I can not say that the music was all that great I did like some of it.

The animation was pretty good and though I found that I disliked the dances that the girls performed I found it somewhat realistic for what a human body can do without special training. The dances should have been more impressive to reflect the training that the girls were getting throughout the show.

The characters were rather fun and interesting though somewhat predictable. Then there was the villains who are good enough that you can dislike them and they are not so bad that you want to snap anytime they appear.

Overall I found that the show was pretty good though I do not really recommend it to anyone that wants a serious show or action. I also do not recommend it to anyone that is wanting great music because the songs are only decent.

Currently there is 1 subbing group on this project. That usually indicates how popular this project is. This anime is terrible!!!

Plot 0/10:
The plot revolves around a girl that wants to join a pop-group named lemon angel that was apparently very popular and it was her dead senpai's wish that she went ahead and sung a song. There are so many retarded reasons why this anime deserves to be flamed but I can't give spoilers here even though it won't make a difference because this anime is so crappy! the only thing they've got going for them are the character templates of the girls. Trust me when I say they leave a much better impression when they keep their mouthes shut.

Characters 0/10:
The main character has the stupidest personalities out of all her stupid super-girly friends. Who came up with the concept to have a cast of characters like this? These characters had the most obnoxious and rather insulting personalities in existence. I stand corrected, their existence is an insult to mine. These girls do nonsensical things and I could not stand how they did all their idiotic little actions, their idiotic little reactions and the retarded plot. Sorry but I don't care much for pop-idols in the beginning but I care even less about these people. Singing does not make your life that important, especially when you suck at it.

These character designs also follow the typical cast, someone tom-boyish, a glasses, a ganguro, someone cold, someone acting cool and someone retardedly lively. Clap Clap. These girls are immbicles! Its like they're so stupid they managed to affect the rest of their world so that they can do whatever it is they want because everyone else is still going "WTF!?".

Music 0/10:
OMFG considering that this anime is about 6 girls being in a pop-group called lemon angel, you thought there'd be good songs in here. No dice. The music here is nothing less then annoying, that piruru piruru song form nhk no youkoso is better then it by a factor of 5. The music here is girly and the lyrical content is garbage.

Animation 7/10:
Only thing this anime has for them is that the character templates don't look half bad. Its not enough to keep me watching this garbage.

I could not believe that there was an anime as bad as Kage Kara Mamoru, even worse in some aspects. Congrats, you've made my personal hall of shame. If you can enjoy this anime then that means I can slap you as hard as I can and not get mad.

Seeing as how I've only watched the first episode of Lemon Angel Project, I can't say this review will be a great one for you to make your decision to watch this series or not.

So, lets start with what I got from the story.

The story seems to revolves around a highschool girl, Tomo, and her journey to stardom as a member of the remade group, Lemon Angel, which will consist of the groups original leader Suwa and new girls to replace the old ones. The original group broke up during the summer of her 3rd year in junior high. Their break up remains a mystery, however that seems to be a subject that is to be further explored throughout the series.

Tomo herself is a very likeable character, flighty, clutzy, but she has a sort of quality that would draw the audience to her, I'd suppose she's the embodiment of an average girl who just can't quite find a way to fit herself in. A friend of hers whom we only see in flashbacks so far, Yui (Yui-senpai as she addresses her during one of her dictations), seems to be a central character to the story, having apparently been involved with the original Lemon Angel, and knowing the reason for the groups dispersal.

There are apparently others connected to the group who appear at chance times with Tomo, such as Kogure Ryota, a producer or agent of sorts that approaches Tomo with an offer to audition for the new Lemon Angel. He also has a connection to Yui and seems to know more about the original Lemon Angel as well as Yui's connection with everything.

Plot: Well it seems like an interesting one, and the first episode does leave you wondering: What next? As far as Tomo's role in everything, its hard to say, though as things are turning out, it seems they're setting her up for something important. I'd say this is a typical girl-stardom cinderella story, cute, but with a shroud of mystery to it.

I'd have to give this an 8/10 so far, though I'm also quite generous in my scoring...

Characters: I'm not sure so far, there hasn't been a whole lot of character developement as far as I'm concerned, though you do learn quite a bit about Tomo in the first episode, which is a good thing. Aside from that they at least try to fit in brief snippets for apparent central characters.

8/10 for this.

Animation: Crisp, detailed and bright. In otherwords, quite well done. On this note I was quite impressed, it kinda reminded me of Beck. I can't really complain on this one.

10/10

Sound/Music: Very clear here too, the songs are well done and are catchy. They certainly suit the series and compliment it well. The song "Evolution" featured in the first episode makes you want to hear more of it as they cut it off. Bastards.

10/10

Overal: 9/10 I found myself attracted to this series from the first episode, I can hardly wait for episode 2. Beautiful animation, good catchy music, likeable characters, and a plot that can at least grab ones attention for more than a few moments. I'd suggest anyone who liked Beck to at least go and check this one out, or anyone who likes a music genre. Though I do admit, this does seem like an anime more directed at a female audience.
