In a nutshell: A fairly interesting story that tends to drag and drag when it gets to the end.

The good:

I liked the plot, and most of the characters were all right.

The music and animation did not really stand out.

The good/ bad:

The characters: I really liked the characters, although my favorites were some of the antagonists. Kikyo and Sesshoumaru were easily my favorites. I started watching the English dub, but then I started watching the Japanese dub and the characters were extremely different. I used to love the main characters, but once I got into the Japanese dub, I really hated the main characters and felt that Kikyo and Sesshoumaru had greater ideals and claim to their goals than the main characters.

Miroku and Sango are very interesting to me. While the whole thing with Miroku and Sango can be quite funny, Sango is very serious and quite interesting and very cool. They both are well developed and fit very well into the protagonist position.

InuYasha and Kagome seemed decent, but not as interesting as the other characters. They really could have been more developed. InuYasha seems really childish and without any principle. Kagome seems okay, but she's not really enough of a character for me to place her as a good main character.

The bad:

The real failure of this anime was that it lasted forever. It really would have been good had it lasted for like four seasons as that was about how much plot that there was, but they drug it out for about three seasons past where the plot just had nowhere to go. I just felt like 'Isn't Naraku freakin dead yet?' The dragging on really got to me. There was about no reason for the last three seasons almost at all.

--------------------------------

Overall, it could have been an eight. As an anime, InuYasha could have been pretty decent, but the only real fallback was the dragging of the last three seasons or so. If InuYasha would have been more principled and deep and Kagome would have been deeper with the addition of the shortening of the series, I think this could have been an eight or maybe a nine, but the dragging plot and characters really take it down a notch or two.
7/10

Inuyasha was another one of the first anime shows I ever watched, and although it was very enjoyable at first, it became increasingly tedious the longer the series progressed.

Animation: The animation in Inuyasha is good. It's not bad or fantastic, and it does develop from the first to the last season. 5/10

Story: Inuyasha's story is an odd mixture of historical romance and a shounen battle series. The battle series parts get tedious, mainly because the fight scenes are always the same, and the characters progress at the exact same rate as the baddies. It's like watching someone play a videogame. As for the plot, it starts off fantastic for the first few seasons and then quickly runs out of steam. This could be because the manga, (which this anime is based on), develops the exact same way. The story becomes downright boring at the end, especially with the endless recaps that are included in every episode. It is as if the show is admitting that it has run out of plot. 6/10

Characters: The character development in this series is much like the story, really good for the first two seasons or so before coming to a dead stop. Inuyasha, Kagome, Kikyo, Miroku, and Sango are seemingly stuck in an endless loop. 5/10

Music: One of the saving graces of this show, especially in the later seasons are the opening and ending themes. There are a lot of catchy, if not classic, songs including; 'Change the World,' 'Fukai Mori,' and 'Grip!' to name a few. The background music is okay, fairly repetitive especially in such a long series. 7/10

Overall: You may think from this review that I didn't enjoy watching Inuyasha when the truth is that I actually did. It's a great story for the first couple of seasons. After that, I recommend you make up your own ending, it'll be better than seeing such a promising show go to waste, right?

I gave this series a low rating simply and mainly because of the length of the series, which really doesn’t go well with the type of plot it has.

Story/Dev :55%
InuYasha has an interesting concept of traveling back to the past and combining it with a supernatural theme, as well as elements of romance. However, the plot drags way too long without a distinct direction: the cast is nowhere near beating the arch villain Naraku, nowhere near finishing the collecting of shards of the sacred jewels (Haruhi knows just how many damn pieces of shards were there altogether, not including the instances whereby some of the shards get stolen by the lesser villains and have to get them back)

Characters/Dev:40%
Inu Yasha himself (as well as the other characters of the main cast) were practically the same throughout the 100+ eps. For one thing, the distinct romance between the characters was already established in season 1, meaning that they merely "maintained" the relationships throughout the series, rather than showing progress. As such, while initially the romance was rather sweet, it later got dry and felt cliché. Priestess Kikyo was pointlessly annoying. She was a considerable likable character when she was alive, but after the resurrection of the clone of sort…well, like I said: pointlessly annoying.

Ironically, it is Sesshoumaru of the side cast who has the most in-depth character development throughout the series. From his initial entrance as the generic unsociable, selfish and emotionless cool guy, to metamorphosis to one who is willing to go to the extent of protecting a human girl. In fact, Sesshoumaru was the only reason I continued watching. In addition, his attitude of becoming strong by his own means and skills rather than depend on external power-ups (namely the sacred jewel) actually made him a better candidate as a protagonist; Inu Yasha is practically a goner without his Testusaiga.

Also, seeing Naruto going Kyuubi mode and Ichigo being taken over by his Hollow self were way cooler and better than seeing Inu Yasha losing control to his Demon Instinct. What’s worse is that he never seems to learn or improve his skills and the battles thus get repetitive after a while.

Animation/Graphics:60%
The animation quality is considerably good, but the fight scenes were at best mediocre.

Music: 65%
The BGM is pretty decent, but has great Ops/EDs. Personal favorites include Change the World, Dearest, Fukai Mori and Every Heart.

Summary
To put it bluntly, the series was rather pointless to have 100+ eps when at most around 50 episodes will suffice. I recommend watching just the first season, and if you have the time and/or interest, watch the last season. Skipping the middle few seasons do not really affect the viewer’s enjoyment.

Personal overall rating : 60%

I've recently been looking at some of the shows that I finished, but never got around to reviewing. In thinking of this, I can hardly believe that I failed to write a review for Inuyasha. A show I spent months watching. With 160 or so episodes, and a story that was never finished. Looking back, I can hardly believe I took the time to watch the whole thing.

I won't bother to write a summary of the plot, as it would take too long, and others already have done so. Instead I'll just move on to what I liked and didn't like about this show. First, in a series that ran for multiple seasons, had many OPs and EDs, surprisingly, I only really enjoyed 2 of the OPs. Mostly just season 4. The artwork was consistent throughout, but that was largely because the animators continually reused scenes from previous episodes.

The characters were usually enjoyable. I really liked Kagome, even though a lot of times she was a little too much damsel in distress for me. I loved Miroku with his always hitting on ever girl in sight, and never getting any. Inuyasha and the rest though good to watch, never really appealed to me as much as those two.

As others have mentioned, one of the things that I didn't care for was how repetitive everything was. There was usually a monster of the week. If the episode dealt with Naroku, you thought perhaps there might just be plot advancement, but there never really was. Same with episodes dealing with Kikyo. So the plot though occasionally and slowly moving forward was a big negative since it never did come to a satisfactory conclusion.

Overall though, having sat through all these episodes, I have to admit, the thing that kept me glued to my chair, able to watch episode after episode of this never ending show, was just how watchable the show was in terms of overall entertainment. While episodes were occasionally boring, for the most part they were all enjoyable to watch. While I was frustrated at the lack of conclusion to the story, nevertheless I enjoyed the story. Overall I don't know that I can really recommend a story as long as this, thats incomplete. While I enjoyed it, and rate it accordingly, unless you likewise enjoy the mix of shoujo and shonen that is Inuyasha, then I'd recommend just passing on this one and finding another show.

Inuyasha is one of the biggest failures of an anime that I ever had the misfortune to stumble across. The plot is too hackneyed for most tastes. It goes under the samurai genre, but with much too strong of an adulterous harlequin paperback-style romance undertone.

The fight scenes, the main reason 65% of the guys who watch Inuyasha are drawn to it, seem to be one massive display after another of invincible super-sayian swordplay. "*gasp* My tetsuaiga (pardon my spelling) can't defeat my opponent? I'll have to use the windscar!" "Master Inuyasha, the windscar wasn't strong enough to kill your brother (who is evil for no real reason, then meets a dead human who makes him good), you must use the move you miraculously learned just this instant, the backlash wave (signal the angelic choir)." Can't break a barrier? go find a special good demon to make you stronger, even though he's in the realm of the dead.

I think the sole saving grace of this horrid anime would have to be Miroku, the cursed lecherous monk. His comic relief is honestly the only thing I can see as good.

As my favorite comedian Richard Jeni (god rest his soul) would say, "If you have the option of watching Inuyasha, or giving birth to a rabid porcupine on fire, look into that second, less painful option".

Inuyasha is one of my favorite action animes. The story about how 15 year old girl named Kagome ends up in the feudal era after falling in the well and then goes from there as she meets Inuyasha and the rest of the gang. The pace is slow sometimes but makes up for in the action scenes.
Theres also a few laughs thrown here and there so the show isn't too dramatic and sad all the time. It also doesn't have many fillers so it stays on the main story, which is another plus for the show.

Art:
I like the art and how it gets better as the show goes on. Everything is very detailed and you can tell how the artist of the show improves over time and the characters, the colors, and the background is much better towards the end of the show.

Music:
There's not much music in the show except in a few action scenes in the show. I have a few favorites from the opening and closing credits.

Inuyasha is a great show and never gets old.

What can I say---I gotta be biased towards this series. Its my first one that got me into the whole anime watching habits. Although I'm saddened by its cliffhanging ending, the series was overall pretty damn good for lasting that long. I got accustomed and grew rather fond of each of the characters and even the villains as well especially Kagura. The music is freakin awesome and also introduced me to the asian side of the music world. Nonetheless, it still had its flaw. Alot of people feel that the show just drags on and on. I kinda agree in that it seems they're on a never ending journey. However, I like that because they can play around with different storylines for the characters. In the end, its a good anime to start off with but its not really something that will last as long as Bleach or Naruto. You can only fight one evil villain for so long before you reinvent the wheel, right?

Storyline: 8/10. It does drag a bit on in terms of killing Naraku, but I really really enjoyed the triangle of Kikyo, Inuyasha, and Kagome more than the rest. From episode 1, its been one battle of the heart after another and honestly, I wouldnt know who Inuyasha would pick....

Characters: 9/10. Some pretty good character developments here although some of them might need work on such as Kikyo, Shippo, and Kanna (Kagura's sister). All in all, a lot of the other characters stuck out, especially Kagome, Inuyasha, Sango, and Naraku.

Graphics: 9/10. In the beginning of the series, the usage of color was a bit bland but I was used to it. By the later seasons, the color has been more 3-D'ish which really stands out especially when they use a lot of them for the natural sceneries. A lot of details went into this series and it shows gradually from season to season. By the last season, the show stands out and I love it!

Music: 10/10. Damn, the best one out there in my opinion! I love how they constantly bring a lot of catchy tunes to their opening and ending themes from popular musicians like Ayumi Hamasaki, V6, Do As Infinity, and others. Kaoru Wada is also in my opinion, one damn good composer who can make different renditions of the same melody for different moments in the series. I have all the music from Inuyasha which proves how much I enjoy it! The BGM's rock!

Overall: 9/10. Good characters. Sweet graphics. A pretty solid storyline. Awesome soundtrack. Glad this was my first anime I ever got into. (sorry Sailor Moon, u were close but not good enough for 1st place)

One of my favorite anime. Actually got me into watching anime and reading manga.

Plot: 7/10
InuYasha has a really strong plot, and I really like it a lot, but the story keeps getting interrupted by constant flashbacks, which can take up 2-3 episodes each! Also, the ending really sucked. It showed no conclusion to the story or what happens later.

Music: 10/10
I love the music in this, especially the ending songs of seasons 2, 4, and 5.

Characters: 7/10
Well-rounded, but could use some work, such as how InuYasha keeps swaying from Kagome to Kikyo and back, which drives Kagome nuts. Also Miroku and Sango need to really finish things up in their relationship.

Overall: 9/10
Really good anime with good animations and story, but the story could be finished and it could be more thought-out.

InuYasha is one of those shows that is a popular anime. It is filled with action, demons fighting but it also has a heart warm romance happening in between the anime.

Plot: 6/10
Full of filliers but when it gets back to the story, it is really awesome. It will get many people to be addicted to the show of some reason. All the main characters have a very strong friendship with each other which makes them really strong when they are battling. The bad thing is that they make their villain (Naraku) too powerful for this anime and the good guys never kill him which makes it really LAME.

Music: 9/10
Most of the opening and the ending, which I really enjoy, are really good in quality. I listen to many of them from time to time. You will really like to have them, but soon you get bored listening to them again.

Characters: 7/10
Inuyasha is really not fit for the main character whereas Sesshoumaru is much better for this role. It's a lot better to see Inuuyssha with Kikyo than to Kagome in my opinion. Kagome should be with Kouga since it seems to be more fitting, but most of the romance and the flash backs of each character are well made.

Overall: 8/10
It is worth watching if you are looking for action-type of anime, and I can say I liked it.

Inu Yasha is one of those shows that either you like it or not. To me it is an intriguing show, but one that I have seen done before. This is not the most original show, nor is it one of the most revolutionary of shows. However, it does prove to be very amusing and time wasting. Inu Yasha also does prove to have a very simple plot that allows the viewer to jump into the show at almost any point. The simplicity of the plot could be seen as a detractor to some, but then again you cannot always have complicated and confusing shows. So in that sense, Inu Yasha is very successful, couple that with the fact that it has a very interesting ensemble of characters and you have yourself a relatively successful show.

The animation is done pretty well, but it is very un-original when it comes to fuedal animes. To me this anime reminds me a lot of Princess Mononoke, both in animation and story. Furthermore, there are times when the interactions between the characters become quite annoying and prove to be detrimental to the overall flow of the show. But in the end, I have to say that this is a very entertaining show that continues to keep my interest. And that is why I would give this a 7 out of 10 for its continually evolving story line, interesting characters and its relative simplicity.

Inuyasha is a great Anime. But it does have its flaws. It is a good Anime to get sombody who has never watched any anime to start with. So I shall divide this review up into two sections the Goods and the Bads.

I shall start with
The Goods: Some Good things about this Show is it has a very developed character relationship. When People fall in love it doesn't just happen instantly it progresses over time. Which is what makes it intresting. Another thing is the Music. Yes the music is constantly repeated over time. But it is unique and often songs that get stuck in your head for quiet some time. I enjoy the music very much. Another thing that makes this show good is its humor. It often can be funny especially after something very dramtic. A couple episodes will be super serious then they do another episode after that which is hilarious! The Final intresting quality of this show is the Scenery. It often shows beautiful town villages and nature scenes. I especially fall in love with the cherry blossoms which were shown a few times.

Now on with the Bads: The biggest complaint I have with this show is It was dragged out far to long!!! After a while it can get very boring. Especially when they do not put a whole lot of new and powerful eneimes in. The heros of the show go through out the whole series chasing the same guy. And then when they add a whole lot of twists and turns you can get very confused. And unless you want to spend a month watching all the episodes trying to get caught up with whats going on you will most likely stay confused. Next is the charcters people may say the charcters are unique and totally different. But this is not true in my perpective. I have seen quiet a few shows with simalar charcters to this show. Not to mention video games. Especially video games. The final thing that I do not enjoy about this show is how in the begining the charcter were drawn plain and dull with the colors then in the end they suddenly jumped in all colorfull and better drawn. This especially got on my nerves when they did flash back scenes then showed things never seen before in the new look.

Over all this anime is good. I really got into it in the beginning. But after a while got tired of it. It is a good anime for anyone just getting into anime. And if you enjoy long a draged out animes than this is the show for you!!

Review:
The story is very interesting and creative, I really like this anime. It is filled with actions with demons fighting. it is mostly about fantasy, adventure, comedy, romance (love), history, mystery, friendship and many more.

The characters are the ones that makes the anime so alive and funny. There are an enormous amount of characters but they all have different hair style, clothes, sizes, personalities and maybe their species.

The music is so exciting that it makes this series more entertaining. The songs are so catchy that you will have it caught up in your head quite awhile. The music changes the atmosphere of the story. I like that in the anime each character has like their own music so that we can recognize which character it is pointing at.

I pretty much like this anime, the only thing that it's a little too long and it goes so slow to what we are expecting to see. It's sometimes nice that they put up a mini story episode but putting too much makes it annoying.

Art: (7/10) I love the character designs but it just got plain after awhile. The colors are well used, but, again, they got plain after awhile. Lots of fanart for this series for a good reason. Simple but good.

Story: (6/10) It was friggin awesome when I watched the first 20 episodes then it got repetitive and boring!! The creators dragged it for way too long. I must say, it was worse than the screaming scenes in DBZ.

Characters: (8/10) I LOVED the resemblance between Kikyo and Kagome. I thought that was pretty cool. The character of each cast is very very good. I loved the personality and it was just fun. The villains were pretty awesome, too. The minor characters are fun, too! Supporting characters add spice to the anime. No wonder people like creating fanart for this series!

Music: (7/10) GOOD theme songs and even though you hear songs repeatedly, you don't get sick of it. Content.

That's right. I'm giving this anime a generous 4.

The plot isn't brilliant nor is it original but it is certainly interesting. There are no complications throughout the story or anything we have to really think about. InuYasha is the definition of simple (the show not the character- but they are both simple). I'm not sure why it's classified under Mystery. Maybe it's because of Naraku's insidious traps or as I like to think of, it Naraku tricking stupid people into doing stupid things.

Most people would say they love the characters; I on the other hand hate the characters. I used to idolize InuYasha after the first few episodes. It took me a few more episodes to realize what a loser he actually is. InuYasha was betrayed by the woman he loves and put to sleep (actual sleep, not dog sleep). He wakes up and is freed by Kagome. InuYasha is cold to Kagome and hides his sadness with toughness (girls go crazy about that) and a few episodes later he becomes obsessed with her safety. I've heard of broken hearts healing quickly but not that quickly. Just how desperate is this loser? I used to have a crush on Kagome until she showed her true colors. She started off as a kind compassionate understanding girl in the first few episodes. She tries to warm InuYasha up to her and offers a shoulder to cry on. After he quickly warms up to her, she reveals her true colors as a... well... female dog. She yells at InuYasha, takes everyone's side against InuYasha, and acts like a spoiled brat. InuYasha has saved her sorry behind so many times and the only time I ever heard her thank him is when she was pretending to nice. After the point where InuYasha "rescues" Kagome from Kouga is when InuYasha finally starts to see what she actually is. Better late then never.

The plot is dragged on. After Kikyou steals the jewel shards from Kagome and gives them to Naraku, I don't see the point in continuing their jewel shard hunt. That should have been somewhere around the ending, actually that should not have happened at all. I know the reasons why Kikyou would give the jewel shards to Naraku but I just don't understand them. I thought Kikyou was smarter than that. She could have held on them and started her own search. That would have been smarter. And why was Kagome holding onto the jewel shards? I would have given them to InuYasha. At that point in the story she should have trusted him not to run off with them. InuYasha could have put them to real use. He could of pimped up his Tetsusaiga or he could have put them in his limbs like Kouga did. It wouldn't have made him evil or anything.

This anime is in my list of top ten corniest anime so far. If I had a dollar for every time InuYasha yelled Kagome's name, Kagome yelled InuYasha's name, or somebody yelled somebody's name, or a bad guy yelled the words "Die, InuYasha!" I'd be set for life. I'm quite perplexed on the reason why InuYasha keeps calling others B******. That word means somebody who is born half royalty and half not. That title fits InuYasha perfectly but nobody calls him that. Everybody is too busy taking turns describing what's going on as if blind people were watching.

This is a failed attempt at comedy. The only thing funny about this anime is Miroku but that's it. This anime wastes plenty of time with romance. Unless it involves Kikyou, I really don't care.

I enjoyed the battles. InuYasha really knows how to put on a good show with that sword of his. I love the music. I have never heard so many theme songs for one anime. Maybe they should have invested less attention in the music and more in the plot, story, characters, and everything else.

Well, here is a tough anime to judge. see, this show was really, really good. I was addicted to the show, I was watching it every day it came on. Then, it started to happen. The show slowly went downhill, episode after episode. It became repetitive and even, dare I say, boring. WEll, thats what I can say about the show. Now lets move on a bit.

The animation is fair. there is a lot of crappy voice acting (In both english and japanise) but it doesnt effect the show much. I noticed that the characters were slowly introduced, and in the first episode they are all so powerful, but then they just suck later on. (Miroku and those bugs are a perfect example.)

The show has its own trend to how it moves along, but like ever anime show there is the same order:

First few episodes: introduce the show and its cast.
about 10 later: after a couple of fights, the show slows down a bit.
about 5 later: the main hero sees the girl naked, he gets yelled at and/or slapped.
............repeat.

see, the problem with this show is that it couldnt hold my intrest long enough to watch through the whole show. about when the 7th cycle of the above I lost intrest... completley.

Bottom line, the show is great for first time anime fanatics, it has a solid plot, but near the end it will barely keep your intrest beacause by the time you are nearing the end there will be better shows to watch.
