Tonagura was a predictable and boring love comedy. The gang included Kazuki and Yuuji and their sisters Marie and Hatsune. The drama was an endless cycle of Yuuji doing something perverted to Kazuki, Kazuki hitting and scolding him, Marie shooting an airsoft gun at Yuuji, and Hatsune cheering everyone on. The script writers decided it was a bright idea to put this scenario countless times in almost all of the episodes. The only conflict that keeps the two protagonists getting together is the lack of communication and misunderstanding each other.
In order to fill this huge gap of plot content side characters and fan service were carelessly thrown in. The music fitted the school setting and the animation was clean and well done. But that didn’t save the plot. I'd say pass on this and watch something better.

Tonagura reminded me of a lot of the older romance anime because the basic script, and the character behaviour being very predictable. Admittedly, I enjoyed my time with this anime at first, but the last few episodes were aggravating. They even dared to end the series pathetically.
One thing I found frustrating was that, near the end of the series, things were too predictable to be enjoyable, there were rarely any surprise elements except in the side characters, notably: Marie, Chihaya, and Miu
Secondly, and although the series would not have progressed past the first episode if it didn't have this, there was plenty of unwanted fanservice on my part. The breast sizes of two characters were ridiculously large. The more annoying thing in this anime was when they spent more than half of an episode talking about bikinis... ridiculous.
Last annoying thing, the main characters! The misunderstandings, the suppressed emotions, nothing was more aggravating than watching this script at work.
Watching the characters interact and learn about one another was fun to watch, and Tonagura also sets some lessons about enjoying life in the present. They also make you realize what you should take from your past.
The Opening and ED was not bad, and the voice work was quite good. There were some interesting events backed up by a small number of charming characters. Charming nontheless. The tone was dull most of the time, but the lines and colours were solid. I'd say Marie-chan's "divine retribution", Chihaya's unique personality, and Hatsune's unwavering expressions is what saved this from a pass to a complete fail.

Hmm… Lets see… first of all Tona-gura could clearly resembles the classical LOVE HINA series but rather than seeing the hero being send to the sky and become part of the stars… this series is much more logical and down to earth. (Nop, we still see bodies flying around and… zombies… yea that’s the right word… zombies…)
My first impression is “Oh… neat opening, white panties… heheheh…"?
My second impression is “Oh great… another LOVE HINA stunts…"?
My third impression is “Wow… Maria is cool…! Love those armories and weapons"?
My forth impression is basically tells me that I get a hang of the entire series by around ep3.
As I’ve stated, I’m pretty much predict the entire simple plot and could careless of enjoying the story. (Well, is easy to digest and simple so I suppose this anime has it’s own charm in it’s own way) So by feeding with the little jokes and ecchi Tona-gura has to offer, I somehow manage to finish the entire series. Is not dreadful nor does it spells boring in certain senses. I did enjoy some little things it has to offer in the fairly simple love story. (Better than the ridiculous and boring romance development in LOVE HINA)
All in all I got nothing to complain nor will I have anything to compliment about this series. I do like the opening song as well as the ending and the last ep’s special ending songs. I’d recommend this series but most probably not to my female friends. Since I purchase the DVD in fairly cheap price, so I think is worth the money in my case…
