This series is not bad per se, but it could definitely have been better. Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora (KtTnS, for short) is a compilation show of sorts. It gathers elements from several other works of the same creators, Kaishaku, and somehow makes them all part of a coherent whole. The plot makes heavy references to Steel Angel Kurumi and borrows character traits and designs from Kannazuki no Miko, UFO Ultramaiden Valkirie and Magical Meow Meow Taruro. I may have missed one or two, but these I can recall from the top of my head. That in itself is not really a bad thing, but the fact that this shows ending recycles the plot devices of Kannazuki no Miko in a different setting and with different characters isn't a good thing either. Despite an acceptable start and better mid-series development, the ending leaves the viewer with a "been here, done that" kind of feeling.

The characters are sort of a strange mixed bag. Kuu is an acceptable character, herself. Her persona starts out as weak and empty, completely uncompelling and more likely to annoy than inspire sympathy, but her development does eventually compensate for that. One thing that gets old about her is her off-voice narration, in which she always addresses "her prince". At first it is kind of cheesy, but later it is cheesy and annoying. Kyoshiro also becomes more likable as time goes by, even though at first he becomes increasingly easy to hate. It was kind of surprising to see a title character being so cruel and rather obnoxious, even though at the end he does manage to redeem himself. The third part of the central love triangle, Setsuna, is unfortunately a rather bland and two dimensional character, who is always going through trouble from Kyoshiro and getting only some sympathy from the audience (Kyoshiro gives her none). Her only chance of character development is cut short by the plot toward the last third of the series, leaving only some impressions of a tragic character who could have been more tragic had she been better used.

The side characters are also rather shallow, but come in a broad range of personalities and people are bound to like at least some of them. A somewhat pathetic side effect of this is that Sojiro quickly becomes more likeable than Kyoshiro, even though he is a side character, and that Himiko and Kaon are better developed than the lead Setsuna. Although that's not necessarily a bad thing, I doubt the wisdom of prioritizing secondaries over leads when some sort of balance could have been reached instead. At least it is good to know that the side characters are there to do stuff themselves and not only as a filler for the main ones.

Visually, the series is also rather bland. The character designs are nice, but the animation is a let-down. Of particular note are the rose vines that Kazuya wields. They more often than not look like just rough strings of solid green than anything. The series is full of roughly detailed characters and images, extensive panning and, overall, sub par animation that would be forgivable if the series had other strengths to draw attention away from these flaws. Sometimes there is some eye candy to be had, thanks to the art style used, but sometimes even that goes away. The complementary music was just alright. never hated it, but nothing to rave about either. The OP and ED were adequate, although it took me a while to get used to them.

Overall, this is not really a show I recommend. It does have its ups and downs and I can easily conceive of people enjoying it, but I can't say that I liked all of it. Somewhere around the middle the show gained some of my affection, but the ending made much of that go away. I can't say that this is a bad show, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you have time to waste on it and have a degree of tolerance for somewhat cheesy fantasy/love stories. But even if that were the case, you'd probably be better off watching Kannazuki no Miko, which is similar and better managed. Its few noteworthy moments and moderately successful attempts at developing its cast get this show a 6/10 in my book. Not mediocre, but not that good either.

There are a lot of haters out there in the anime world. Any series with a large enough popularity has its own personalized group of haters. No matter what, there is always at least one hater to each and every anime.

Well here is a show you can utterly dislike from the bottom of your heart. Everything is inconclusive, muddled, confusing, and the animation is good enough to disgrace the good name of anime. I gave this a score of 3/10 because of all the time it had, only 30% of the series felt worth watching, the other 70% vanishing amidst all the befuddlement.

A clear attempt at sci-fi/fantasy combo, this show has lost any meaning through trying to describe the setting itself. By the end of the show, we still have little idea what is going on. Just driving to attract viewers through a complex setting is not a good idea, but having a half complete setting is even worse. Additionally, there was not a single idea that was answered or concluded as the anime continued on.

Just as inconclusive are the characters in the story. The relation between characters are not well explained, and any attempt to grab emotion or angst is not followed up and looks just plain ugly.

The animation was done nicely, but falls completely out of tune with the storyline. Thats because there WASN'T a storyline. As I said earlier, the animation is nice enough to be a disgrace when added to such a crappy story.

When the anime ended I was gasping for breath. One, I didn't even catch any theme in the plot, or the exact path of events themselves. Two, it was so terrible I just wished it to end. The show is basically a series of independent events not correctly linked together. No matter who you are, it is almost guaranteed that you will dislike this anime more than you will ever appreciate it.

I do not know where to began with this one. I was lured by the attractive graphics to watch this anime, which turns out to be a huge disappointment and a great waste of time.

Plot
Very slow development. I was clueless of what’s going on until like episode 4 or 5, leaving me to do a lot of guesswork. A lot of screen time is devoted to Kuu talking to her imaginary prince, which although helps her get her "empty" image, it makes her look more stupid than pitiful. I mean, she turns out to be a very tiresome character. And what’s with that scene where the siblings take baths at the same time while explaining what's actually going on... to themselves? Oh god, cheesy.

Kazuya look like a emo fool, and the ending wasn't very satisfying. One of the reason I didn’t really enjoy this is I can’t help feeling extremely sorry for Setsuna.

Story Style
I would say it's poorly executed. All they wanted is to make the guy handsome and make him cool. The first half Kyoshiro kept mum and only know how to say IKKOU (let's go) then kiss then Kuu starts talking to herself again. And then somehow Kyoshiro come to her saying f'king IKKOU again. Then always include a dreamlike background and sparkles covers the screen. Batraz never seem to have a personality; all she can do is whine… in all kinds of situations.

Animation
I was fooled by the animation... it seems attractive, but it was just full of stills. The action was kind of detailed, but that’s pretty much it. Non of the characters seemed really attractive, besides Kyoshiro; because making him handsome is probably what the whole show is about.

Music and Sounds
The opening theme is pretty nice though. Kuu’s voice grates on my nerves too much for me to find it nice; Kyoshiro with all his IKKOU sounded kind of dumb.

Overall
It had some value for enjoyment, but most of it is boring stuff.

This anime was a decent, at least to me. The storyline somewhat reminded me of Fatestay Night.

Characters: All the characters are very pretty and there is definite character development throughout the story. Kuu is cute but mostly a clumsy. The only annoying thing I found of her was her common reference to the "prince" she once saw. Well developed characters overall.

Art: The best thing about this anime is the art. The colors are very soft and defined and it really gives the anime a little extra. I loved the art and it is one of the reasons i watched this.

Story: The plot is decent and it develops at a good pace. Each episode is filled with a lot of information so you don't feel that any of it was just filler. The only thing that bugged me is that sometimes they threw too much at you at one time. Didn't give much time to absorb it but the majority of the time is was good.

Overall: I enjoyed it and if you're the type that likes romance with action, this is an anime you should watch.

Overall Summary:
(I have never seen Kannazuki no Miko, but supposedly the girl Kaon is the reincarnation of Chikane, and Himeko is the reincarnation of Himiko... and the anime is a spin off of KnM)

It's a very cute anime about a girl, and her dreams. Her name is "Kuu", and it means something like "empty" or "empty shell", and she describes herself as a girl who is lacking something. Yet she has a dream about a Prince... someone who seemed to have been an important person to her...
Her prince says "Let's go together" in her dream, and she follows him.

However, back to reality, she is a plain girl who suddenly gets involved in a seemingly non-related incident.
Then she meets Kyoshiro, who happens to resemble her prince, and he always says "Let's go together".
Then the story starts to really unfold from there.

Art:
The are, I will give a 9/10, it is GORGEOUS art, the coloring, and the designs are amazingly pleasing, and the aesthetics in the anime are generally pleasing to the eye....
However it does not receive a 10 because it looks awkward in some parts of the animation.

Story:
It is not very complicated, it is a sweet shoujo, but nothing too wonderful. It is really overly dramatic, and the characters react in an over-the-top sort of fashion.
It has a sort of shallow story line...
However, if you actually read the words, sometimes you get hit with wistful insight.
But I would rate it a 6/10.

Music:
It is okay, not bad or anything, it is sweet, I love the theme song, and I like how the episodes always merge into the ending theme song...
But I am not too fond of the ending theme.
It is decent music though.
And the background music is very sweet, and fitting.
7/10

Characters:
I really love their designs... but most of the characters are either whiny, or they act too dramatic, and it is annoying.
There is no real character development in any of the characters really...
Only in a shallow sense did they develop.

Kuu get's very annoying sometimes, and she’s rather stupid.

HOWEVER, I mist say I am rather fond of Setsuna, she's a beautiful character, and does have some sort of character development. She's also a great character, and a tragic heroine.
6/10

Overall I would give it a 7/10.
It was a decent watch, and had some sort of potential, but the ending really threw it off, and if you watch it, and see what happens at the end, you get that weird sort of "EW, WTF?!" feeling....
BUT, if you have time, watch it, it is rather entertaining.
