SSP is best described as a slice-of-life set in an alternative world/universe, with superb modern-classical soundtracks.
Story/Dev: 70%
Yes, it’s a rather typical story about love, friendships, teamwork and such. But heck, the main highlight is the blend of the elements of "mahou shoujo" with music. Remember the cliché saying that Music is Magic? No, we see it in a literal level. Anyways, while simple and nothing special, I enjoyed the series, which has a very relaxing and light atmosphere.
Animation/Graphics/Design: 85%
Vibrant and colorful artwork. I especially loved the graphics of the musical instruments (and their activation). I also like the animation for the OP/ED, which give a rather sweet, tranquil and peaceful ambiance. While there are fighting scenes, do not expect superb fight sequences, as this is supposed to be a "very peaceful" sort of anime. Do not even expect much bloodshed and complex plots about diabolical villain.
Characters: 75%
Generally consist of a rather typical cast with Corti being the star character of the series.
Music: 95%
The highlight of the series! I absolutely enjoyed the background music as well as the OP and ED. It really is great to hear Eufonius’ angelic voice. My other favorites being the soundtracks, Flight of the Malachite Bee, Ruby Assault, Crimson Annihilator. The music used was really suitable for this series – peaceful, classical mood, pleasant to the ears.
Summary:
While unique in concept, it’s not really outstanding. It is worth the watch, but do not expect emotional roller-coaster rides such as when watching School Days, Air etc, or expect the Nanoha sort of magic battles. Instead, try to concentrate on how the music and animation complements each other along with the simple tales of the characters' daily lives. With that being said, I wouldn't be surprised if many find this series boring due to lack of cool action, heart-wrenching or touching romances. It really is a very peaceful anime.
Personal overall rating : 75%

In the continent of Polyphonica, spirits materialize in the world, surviving on the music that is played by humans, and live together with them. While the spirits don't appear often, some spirits have enough power to materialize in human or animal forms and live together with humans.
Dantists, who play special music called "Commandia," are widely respected in this world. They also usually are in contract with powerful spirits. The story of Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica revolves around the new Dantist, Phoron Tatara, the spirit that he made contract with, Corticarte Apa Lagranges, and their friends, in their daily life and work.
Characters- 9/10 the characters in Polyphonica are well structured and their personalities fit in with each other. If there's a serious person there's a energetic person to balance them. Similar to most characters.
Music 10/10 if you enjoy listening to classical music. 6/10 if you dont.
Plot 7/10 there really isn't much of a plot; it just follows the everyday life at work for Phoron and Corti.
This is a must for everyone who enjoy fantsay. -------------------------------------------
