Story/Dev: 62%
I have never watched the original series in which this remake is based on, so I won't be able to make any comparison. I'll simply review this series as a stand-alone. The storyline’s pretty interesting, I must say. However, this series only get an average rating of 6 because the plot progress wasn’t anything particularly impressive or unique. Frankly speaking, it was actually rather bland, nothing really climatic or engaging. At times, it was rather dull too. I didn’t mind the simple storyline, in fact I was actually looking forward to the classic Aliens infiltrating and assaulting Earth storyline, but it needs to be more in-depth, and maybe a bit of drama, to actually make it a more interesting series. The ending was also a rather disappointing one. I was expecting the Boss Fight to be more action fueled, or at least some of those classic sci-fi big bangs and explosions sort.

Characters/Dev: 60%
The characters were rather uninteresting. The protagonist was the typical plain yogurt. Birdy herself, though a likeable character, wasn’t enough to make the series outstanding. Birdy's companion droid was rather amusing but most unfortunately, his screen time was rather limited. It was also unfortunate that we don't get to see more of her part-time model side, which was also rather hilarious. On the overall, the characters didn't leave much impression and that is probably the main reason as to why I didn’t really find this series enjoyable.

Animation/Graphics/Design: 75%
The animation quality is good, as can be seen in the spaceships. However, the graphics design for the characters were rather average. Though there's one thing that I want to pick on and that is the action sequences, which were quite a letdown in the later part of the series.

Music: 65%
I didn’t really like the OP and ED. BGMs were decent.

Summary:
Not really worth the time. Decode was just an average series, and an easily forgettable one as well. I doubt I’ll be watching season 2.

Personal Overall Rating: 64%
