Synopsis :
A time when humans have expanded civilization to Mars. It's the day of the Soldier Qualification test for Reny and he doesn't show up to it. Reny is a spunky 16 year old boy that gets into a lot of trouble, especially with authorities. He doesn't wish to join the army, instead, he'd rather work for his father.
His world changes when he witnesses destruction caused by large red machines and humanoid robots. While being chased down by the military and these unknown baddies, he encounters an enchanting beauty, but she's not from Mars, she's an alien. Now with the motivation to protect, he finds himself in a powerful robot deemed Tobikage. Tobikage can combine with other mechanical beasts to bestow unmatched power. But where did Tobikage come from? For what purpose?
