The story of the celestial beings continues... Although it's the second season, unlike SEED, the story of 00 is meant to continue in this sequel... So naturally I had high expectations for this since many of the character doesn't feels like they have fully fulfilled their role in the story yet. Which, unfortunately, cause me to be disappointed quite a bit.

The show does know how to pull in the audience with plenty of good action scenes, creative gundam and mobile armor design, and the abundence of well-designed characters who all had quite a fair share of screen time. The animation and music quality, as expected from such a long running and successful franchise, is top notch too.

But the plot does matter if this show's gonna be fantastic or simply good. I feel that compared to SEED's Rawl le Cruz, Ribbons Almark is a really boring antagonist. In fact, all the antagonist add up together does not amount to much... Ali is simply a bloodthirsty mecenary, Bushido is simply a battle hungry enemy pilot with almost nothing to do with the rest of the plot.

Granted, a lot of the story focuses on how the characters fought with the remnants of their past, I suppose that works better as the main enemy in the show.

The each different characters relationships feels like it had very little to do with each other too... Soma Pieres's story is one thing, Saji and Louise's story is one thing, Marina and the kids's story is one thing, Anew Returner is but a short plot device with hardly any impact or lasting effect on the rest of the story. It just seemed like just different stories happening in the same universe and time, that's all... I was hoping they could somehow come together in the end for something quite epic, but I was quite disappointed to see these little arcs end by themselves with a lot less impact then I hoped for. Strong character designs like Soma Pieres ended up kind of wasted.

Still, the show will keep you entertained with endless action and developing story lines, even though they feel separated... I would say that the first season is better, since it explored the 4 main character's design better, while the second season feels like it's in a bit of rush trying to conclude the stories of the many side characters.

Plot/Concept: Fairly Good
Story Style: Very Good
Audio/ Visual: Excellent
Value: 8
