Synopsis :
The construction at the school has halted because of the discovery of a religious monument. A student of the school named Yuri investigates the scene and calls upon onmyoudou (spiritual summoning). He discovers that this obstruction is actually a seal from a powerful god.
A strange light emits from the monument and Yuri becomes face to face with a young girl with strange abilities. After some outlandish events, Yuri is responsible for taking the girl under his care.

Yet another series that I tried because I liked the character designs, and turn out to be a disappointment. Tayutama’s just another high-school-romance-comedy-magic-supernatural show adapted from an eroge… and that’s about it. There isn’t anything from Tayutama I gathered that differentiates itself from the rest of the anime from this genre, which seems to spawn at least one every season.
Despite that, the characters designs still appeal to me. I had hoped that there would be a clash of different powers judging from the different character designs, like Yumina representing the Angel and Ameri representing the demon or something like that, but it didn’t happen. What happened at the finale is the end of the stupid jealousy relationship, main character going super saiyan, and another main character giving a “touching” goodbye. Then after the final ED they try to hint that she’s back. But well… I didn’t really care since it’s such a poor attempt at concluding the series.
Animation is well below average. Backgrounds barely had any detail, the actions are animated clumsily, and the action scenes are cheap, with every other attack filling the screen with white light. Ok, the songs are rather good though. I quite like the ED, and the use of high-quality pics from the game feels rather appropriate.
Overall… Not worth it.
