Extremely fun. And funny.
I had zero expectations for Don't Lose, Makendo! It is a one-shot with more than one main character, it seems. The story was quite weak, and the art/animation part was passable. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this OVA. The cast really had character (not the enemies though), and it was really funny.
The best feature of this OVA is that it contains a mouthful of humour. You just can't keep it to yourself! It's parody-central! Most of the dialogue involves poking fun out of magical girl shows. Most of the jokes are true too xD The OP and ED are quite busy too. It looks like they spent a considerable amount of time for those sequences.
One particular character was quite giggle-worthy. He only was captured in a few seconds worth of spotlight, but if you have watched the Ninja Turtles, you probably will scoff amusingly too. But it is the walking brain with unimpressed eyes. He reminded me of Krang!
With a weak plot, you'll have unreasonable events. The character interaction, especially with Makendo and the two girls, were unjustifiable. It was somewhat random. What were they fighting for again? With just one episode, not much can be gained. It's unfortunate, I enjoyed Makaruna! Makendo. Their story can surely branch nicely with more episodes, however, it may be a trade off with the enjoyable comedy. You can pull off a parody for only so long.
I'm blabbering here. The most important note is that this OVA is a good parody/comedy, and there's only one episode to work with.
