It is quite easy to recommend Death Parade. Only because I find that its easily likeable. I was very excited about hearing a TV version of the Young Animator Project: Death Billiards. Each episode is its own story - or competitive hobby as you will find out soon enough. So each episode is stand alone but at the same time there is interconnectivity through the "workers". Some characters are cycled and some aren't.

The biggest downfall of the series is that it was really short. I enjoyed my time with Death Parade. While I would be interested in viewing more episodes, I guess there's only so many sports and/or plot twists you can bring up. There was a heavy lack of character development. Perhaps they didn't want to explain too much and leave things to your imagination, but I had so many questions about the characters (who work for/with Decim for example) and just the facility in general. Not much is explained.

A lot of mystery is brought up Oculus and Nona; maybe even angst between them, but nothing further is grown. How they presented these characters peaked my curiosity but it was not satisfied at all.

I should have mentioned this before but the style of Death Parade is a bit different from most anime. That is, you wont get your Shounen Adventure Fix here! Think about series such as Paranoia Agent or even Jigoku Shoujo. You'll see grotesque faces and saliva projections. Human emotions in the heavier spectrum I suppose.

The art and animation quality is consistently high. Big fan of the OP too. Actually, I get the feeling that everyone loves the Opening. Death Parade provided great work all around, but I wish we got to know the characters a bit better.
