".. G O A L ! ! ! ! "
Wild Striker revolves on the world of soccer. It woves the story of Kyosuke Kano and his friends in their journey to reach the National Tournament.
This anime is quite funny to say the least. It has also its moments of seriousness that counterpoints the moments of levity. I like the sense of determination exuded by Kyosuke and Miki.
Story: 8
The story is top rate. It is fast paced and full of twists. Soccer fans would love the story for it incorporates several moves and strategy of RL soccer. I also liked the strong sense of romance between Kyosuke and Miki. Even though they deny time and time again of havig that kind of relationship!
I also like the moments of laughter in the story. For me, each scenes of laughter becomes more and more funnier especially if it follows a really serious scene.
The story was definitely not boring!
Animation: 7
Clearly the animation was amazing but I'd really like it if they didn't use the same scenes over and over again (particularly during the games).
Characters: 9
Each characters share a unique identity. Each has his or her own brand of traits that make him/her shine. Even the secondary characters where memorable for during their moments of fame in the episodes they gave off their distinctive traits. Who would not laugh with the antics of the bald-headed captain, the clumsy courtship of the newly recruited first year during the later episodes and of course the friendly rivalry of Jyoyo's Super Three.

Well I all that I have to say is that this is a really nice show. Although I am not that into soccer, I have to say that this show is not that bad. It reminds me of Slam Dunk, the basketball animation. This show is just something like Slam Dunk. The story is a really not half that bad and the football matches are really exciting with the main character Kanou Kyosuke pulling out unexpected and bizzare moves. The other characters are not bad as well and there is also development in the teamwork and friendship amongs the players. The story is also not entirely on focus but rather there is actually a story in this show.
Overall
The story ~ Not bad and very entertaining.Worth watching.
Humour ~ Hilarious and entertaining.
The girls in the story ~ There are some cute ones, but, unfortunately, no hot ones.
Music ~ Kind of nice.
My Opinion ~ If you are really into football, watch this show. If you are not, watch it still - you might actually learn to enjoy this sport.

Okay either this anime is not popular or not many people like it. Despite all that, I myself love this anime. It's about soccer of course, but there's more to it than just that.
Kanou Kyosuke, a High school student, has a burning desire to become the champion of soccer ever since he got talked into it by a girl who is a big fan of soccer, Miki. What's more is that Kyusuke's brother, Kanou Susuke, is a world class soccer player. He is playing international soccer, unlike Kyosuke who is only playing for the champion school. That's why Kyosuke has always admired hes older brother and inspired by him to become the champion.
Story~ 8/10
The story isn't all about soccer like I said, it's also about teamwork, friendship and their relationship amongst one another. It also has a comical side to it, spicing the anime up. In fact the whole sequel is filled with comdey you can't stop laughing while watching it. I think it's great as it shows the cooperation and teamwork between the players as they try to achieve victory every match. We can learn from this anime as it also happens in reality. So in a way this anime also teaches us good points.
Characters~ 9/10
I love the characters as they show connection between one another, how they relate to each other, how they help one another when in need of help and thier personal relatonships with one another. Very well thought out.
Music~ 9/10
Oh I simply love the music, especially the first opening song. When that music plays everytime the Jyoyo Orange Hill soccer team starts to really work together hand in hand and perform amazing stunts and score mind blowing goals, it really make your blood boil as the excitment rises in you. Wow it's hard to imagine the feeling without experiencing it so be sure to watch it!
Animation~ 8/10
Average graphics and the color is okay, but the pictures are very detailed and the drawings of the characters, especially Miki, is just SO CUTE!
Overall~ 8/10
I guess an 8 will do as I think this anime has some flaws that can be improved and touched up on. Hoever the story is excellent and I really recommend it to everyone. I don't know why this anime isn't popular, but please watch it.

Being a soccer player myself, watching this anime was pleasent. Even though soccer is played almost everywhere, noone ever made a serious anime out of it. [There's another soccer anime, but it's not as realistic as hungry heart.] Story tells of a guy who has a pro soccer player as a brother, and feels as if he's not worthy because of this. The main character, Kyosuke Kanou, then quits soccer for quiet a while but is back in the Orange Hill team [Jyoyo] soon after.
Music: I liked all the opening and endings, specially the one currently used at 46. [Sorry I forgot name -_-]
Drawing: It's decently drawn, just like any other anime.
Storyline: It's fine because it's footbal ^_^ + some love stuff between Kyosuke and a girl, not spoiling this part so sorry.
Story then goes on about how he becomes better than his brother, and how he develops relationships with his friends and teammates.
Overall I give this anime a 9.

Wild Striker is a great soccer anime that is fun and entertaining.
It is a modern day story that revolves around an orange haired Teen named Kanou Kyosuke. He is blackmailed into coaching a brand new girls soccer team by the captain Miki. Kanou realizes his love for soccer and accepts to join the high school team through the pestering of a persistant manager, Morii.
The story starts with teamwork troubles and it becomes more complex when problems of specific members are addressed and explain the attitude of the main characters. The anime focuses on the theme of working hard through ones successes and failures and striving to achieve the ultimate goal of winning the nationals.
Wild Striker's first OP (Second Stage) relates to the anime well and is a pretty catchy tune. The genre is a real mix with comedy, sports, action, drama, and yes, a little romance. The art is quite good and the story gets more interesting when the new members of the cast are introduced. Although the story is entertaining it may get repetitive because of the uniform theme. An example of repetativeness would be The Op which remained the same until episode 43. Then the producers decided to change the Op into the worst OP I have seen and heard.
The animation is not very good, so as far as soccer graphics, you're better off playing FIFA on your PS2. Overall it's a good anime that I can laugh and have fun with. If you're a soccer fan or even if your nuetral, watch it. There is a good possibility that you might like it.
