I like to watch Whistle because I really love playing football. This anime had showed me various ways to improve my skills on football.
It also shows the main character, Kazamatsuri Sho will to become a great football player even though he had been rejected as the first team in the best football school team in their zone. Viewers will become more confident to improve theirself and will also increase their self-confidence.
The friendship between Sho and his teammates really make viewers believe that friends were very important to us. Furthermore, this anime also make football player know that teamwork and team chemistry is very important in certain football matches.
The main character also can give morale support to football lovers that has a small body but like to play football for higher stage.
That's all my review about this anime and one last thing I want to say that is I LOVE WHISTLE! SO MUCH.

This is my review on Whistle!
Storyline - Well then, I think in this, I would be a bit biased, since I like football very much  ok then seriously... The story follows the ups and downs of the main character, as he was been exposed more and more to the world of football... It is kind of interesting to see the obstacles and the troubles he and his teams had to put up with... the underestimation, the tough matches and so on... Although it is pretty generic, but those with a football passion might find this anime very interesting and quite emotional-pulling too...
Characters - Now here is the main strength of the story... If you like football, you would be amazed on Kazamatsuri's growth... from just being able to lift the ball, he slowly develops his skill and grown into a deadly striker at Sakura Jyousui and the super-sub for the Tokyo Senbatsu. Other characters are too not left behind, as they being slowly develop with passing time... However one flaw remains, only Kazamatsuri skill's are being developed, not his character...
Animation: Well here is nothing exceptional here... however I see no flaw that catches my eyes... the characters are well drawn, and also the seiyuu are pretty good... except for Kazamatsuri (again!) which I found to be... non-emotional... I get more emotions from the manga
Music - The BGM is nicely done... It fill in the mood and goes greatly with the sequence... the OP music/sequence are so-so... same with the ED.
Conclusion: If you love football, get this anime... if you don't, and still can live with the flaws I mentioned above... get this anime... Otherwise, taken from a neutral standpoint, it is a mediocre anime...

Whistle is the only reason I got an account here (besides reading some of the manga). I'm glad that I'm able to review such a great anime. Of course, Whistle is your common sports anime, this time focusing on soccer. To be honest, when I got the Anime, I wasn't even interested in soccer. I bought it out of curiousity.
When I watched it, I was amazed by the *wonderful* background music (I wish I could have the CD) and pleasant character designs. There's not much plot since all it's about is soccer. However, don't let this fool you. The games are truly entertaining and had me on the edge of my seat! I was so inspired and motivated by the superb plays, I even wanted to go pick up a soccer ball and start busting some moves.
You probably expect the main characters to naturally prevail against all teams, win tournaments, etc. This isn't necessarily true, instead it focuses on their determination to win and their struggles to improve and become better.
Whistle is not my favourite anime, but surprisingly I treasure it much more than my other ones. In fact, I treat it with utmost care. I also find myself re-watching episodes over and over again, because I love it so much. I suggest you give Whistle a try. Who knows- maybe you'll start to love soccer, too!
