I'm quite keen about time-travel anime. Although the time leaps were the main driving plot, it wasn't "used" in every episode. I put Used in quotes because our main character didn't really have any control over this phenomenon.

I'll admit there were a few disappointing aspects because I had such high regard for the anime based on the first 2 or so episodes. However, I would still say that this is a high quality work. Erased is easily recommendable. The backdrops and animation (A1 Pictures) were really nice to look at. The story was easy to follow and the events were entertaining from start to finish. I didn't notice any drop in quality.

So I was excited to have a 29 year old main character supported by a middle-aged (but young looking) mom. Why? Cause the majority of anime features middle school boys as the main cast. BORING.

So yeah. Unfortunately, most of the anime takes place in another time... when Satoru is 12... it's a cast of elementary/middle school kids again. One difference is that Satoru still has his (29 year) old mind - which brings up amusing events.

Doesn't everyone fantasize about going back in time with their current mindset so they can "fix" or re-live certain younger times? I certainly do!

I have a feeling that this will be one of the top anime of the 2016 year. It was certainly good but I thought it would be much better. Just don't raise your expectations too high!
