TEKKEN: THE MOTION PICTURE wasn't really impressive at all. The dialogue was cheesy and poor but the animation was good and the fight scenes weren't too bad. But the thing is, why won't people ever learn that movies based on video games don't work at all? It really annoys me, GAH!
This crap movie is about the character Kazuya Mishima (Kazuhiro Yamaji's voice over), before he became Jin's father, wants to kill his dad, Heihachi Mishima (Daisuke Gôri's voice over) after he almost killed Kazuya on purpose but the only way to kill him, is by joining the Tekken fighting tournament on an island guarded by the military.
I think you'd rather be playing the game than watch this garbage because TEKKEN: THE MOTION PICTURE gives you the reason why you should never watch movies that are based on video games.

Tekken. The Motion Picture.
This is not a review. This is a warning. The plot, such as it is, is terrible, existing merely as an excuse for people to beat each other up. And the scenes of them beating each other up are so poorly done you'll spend the entire time looking at it like a retarded clown. The music is forgettable at best, and the characters are so one-dimensional they even make Superman look deep. And that's saying it all nicely.
The only excuse you have to watch Tekken is if you have some friends over to get drunk and want something to watch and make fun of. Otherwise, pass on this one.
You have been warned.

Tekken - The Motion Picture = Media Gimmick designed to draw in Tekken fans
Animation: It's not great at all. The characters (especially the guys) look the same except for the hair color and clothes and the lines, though connected, look rushed.
The only good things were the fight scenes: Drawn well, but they don't make up for the lack of everything else.
Storyline: It's practically non-existent. It's one that involves fighting, but they don't really do anything with it that would pique your interest. It's an average joe story with a monotone influence.
Characters: Cliche. They don't have any differences with characters that you usually see in animes. They don't go into the pasts, etc. of the characters and there's no development. They have personalities, but they don't shine through the characters' actions, and they just made up a bunch of stereotypes with the Tekken characters' names and designs on them.
Music/Sounds: I really can't remember much about this. All I know is, it wasn't anything interesting. It was ordinary and I just plain ignored it.
Conclusion: Don't watch this. Don't buy this. Just avoid it, unless your local video rental store has it and you really want to watch it.

If you're a die hard Tekken fan, this will still leave you unsatisfied. Tekken could have been a decent movie but not much effort was put into it, besides the fight scenes. You really don't know anything about the characters throughout the whole movie. The short scenes at the begining of the games do a better job explaining the story than this movie. Anyway I still gave it 2 stars just because the fights are decent. It just makes me mad that no effort was put into the story, Tekken does have some rich characters to pick from.
If your a fan of the game watch it, but don't expect much. Anime fans, don't waste your time.

This is really bad, and I like almost all animes I see.
The plot is almost non-existant.
The characters are boring and stereotypical.
The only good thing about this show was the smooth fight scenes they have, the fliud drawings actually look good as they fight.
It could have been better with more character development and a better story line.
Only for those who like Tekken ALOT

tjeeez, this really *sucked*
There is no excuse to watch this, just leave it the hell alone!!
The animation was cheap, I cant remember much about the music, the story was non-existant.
This is one of those dvd's that you buy on impulse, but regret immediatley. I justr gave it to my younger brother for his birthday when I realized what I had done :P
