I really loved this story. Even when it had it's segues and fillers, everything still connected and matched up. I especially loved some of the pre-episodes and intros and endings with the cats in there. It made the series look very dreamy and it just had a sense of happiness in it.

Characters-10: This is definitely one of the best parts of the anime. All of the characters are introduced generically and developed very nicely. The involvement of minor and major characters and their development made this anime very realistic (even though it has sides of super-natural elements) and enjoyable.

Music-9: Not as good as the character rating, but it was done very nicely. The Intro and Endings were very helpful to the story. The BGM is perfect because it switches often and fits the story and plots.

Story-10: Whoever said all fillers and segues are bad, never watched this anime. And probably watched too much Naruto. Throwing the main story aside, because it was just too addicting, the side stories were also very nicely done. Unlike other animes which had a beginning, body, and an end, this made the 3 parts flourish. The characters and plots enriched the story and complimented very well.

Animation-10: I LOVE THE ANIMATION. It focuses on the detail when it's needed, and gives a wide range look when the mood is nice. Tenses up and makes a close range when the tension is there and important things are about to come up. Although it sounds like cliched, but this really helped the story.

Overall: I have to give it a 10 because 9.5 is not a rating. This story is one of the few that made me think deeper about life. Which is amazing because not a lot of anime tend to do that. I recommend this to the viewers of Air TV. It's less sad, and there's more plots.

Personally, I loved this anime. Although I can see reasons why people could dislike it, those same reasons are why I like it.

Storyline: 9.5/10
Yes, I truly loved this storyline. Throughout the series, there were many tear-evoking scenes (which I loved), and although it was predictable (which I also like), I think it was beautiful with many dramatic/sad parts, especially in the latter half of the anime. The first half, I believe effectively strengthened the audience's feelings for the characters (making me cry even more when it reached the end ^_^;;). However, the storyline continued a little too slowly. Some of the episodes could be condensed, but other than that detail, it's perfect.

Music: 9/10
The music, I believe did catch the overall theme and atmosphere of the anime. The OP, representing the first half of the anime (in my mind) was cheerful, and nice to listen to, although I will say that I won't find myself listening to it for a long time at once. The ED, was sweet, calm, and once again, it fit the second half of the anime (with a bit less sad, though).

Characters: 10/10
Eh... I really can't take anything off from this category. I loved every character. All their backgrounds, although a little hard to believe (but hey, it's anime, suspend your disbelief), was nice, heart-warming, and just overall, great.

Art: 10/10
Well, this anime is definitely overflowing with sakura (cherry blossoms) scenes, which I also love. They were all done beautifully, and I can't see any flaws with this anime's art.

Overall
Da Capo is one of my favorite animes, and should definitely in any anime fan's collection. I enjoyed it the whole way through. So, go and watch Da Capo.

What a struggle to watch such a troublesome series. The idea is that the protagonist falls in love with his sister which isn't related by blood. The story revolves around that and their struggle through crisis to stay together.

Plot/Story
Shoot me. Just shoot me! That's how I felt after episode 6 or 7. After his sister confesses her love to him it went all downhill. There was no story development after that scene. Everything came out in tiny little pieces that didn't fit. Side stories here and there were just scattered so it felt as if they left the viewer to fit the pieces together. It just got boring to watch from that point up to the climax. The climax was intresting but all too predictable. Despite the little twists here and there it just wasn't enough to throw off the viewer and was easily read. 4/10

Music
Skipped and skipped. It didn't seem to bother me the first couple times. Then it just started to get annoying. It wasn't catchy and it didn't really seem to suit the mood of the anime. Sure it did fit into the Sakura theme but it just didn't really fit into the anime's actual atmosphere. 2/10

Animation
Probably the only strong point in the anime. The characters pretty attractive. They did do the background scenes with the Sakura trees pretty well and was pleasing to watch. One point I would like to point out was the issue of the robot Miharu. It felt like I was watching Pinnochio. The robot wanted to be more like the "real" Miharu. I thought it was just one of those side stories that didn't really fit. It led me to ask more questions. 7/10

Overall
A struggle to finish. The actual story felt like it was missing. The characters and the background were attractive but without the development of the plot it really got boring to watch. If you have time I think you might be intrested in it but it definitly didn't intrest me. It ran smoothly then burned and crashed. With a rating of five I would let the viewer swing either way. 5/10

Always I thought to myself "If there're cute girls in the anime, it must be good". Damn was I ever wrong. Hell the only reason why I watched this crappy anime was because I bit torrented it for a couple of weeks.

Plot 0/10:
NON-EXISTENT. It's just a compilation of a lot of other harem type animes stuffed into one. I'm unpleasently suprised there was ever a second season. The theme about the Sakura pissed me off more then you can imagine. The side stories were more interesting then the actual story. Make an anime called "Da Capo Gaiden" and you bet your ass I'll be watching it. The second season, don't make me laugh.

Characters 1/10:
Slightly higher score because the girls were semi-decent. The guy fell in love with his sister. Good job. That pretty much sums up the character interactions. Yeah sure they aren't related by blood but they were raised as brother and sister. Sure is a shame when cousins marry.

Music 0/10:
Crappy ass music. It was annoying as hell. To no one's suprise, it was SAKURA theme based. Endings annoyed me as much. Don't bother listening to this kinda crap.

Animation 5/10:
The animation quality was really good and the girls weren't ugly. Shame this anime had no substance.

Overall, I'm suprised how high a score I gave to Da Capo. Waste of time unless you fulfill the following conditons: 1) Like incest. 2) Like things that go no where. 3) Really REALLY like Sakura. 4) Out of your mind. If you don't have all 4, you'll hate this anime.

I kept falling asleep when I first watched this anime. o_O Somehow I managed to watch till ep 12.. then had to stop, couldn't take it anymore.
However, half a year later, when I decided to try again, I realised that i quite enjoy it! if i could, I would give it 7.5~ it's more than 7, but not quite an 8 yet, in my opinion.

I like the opening theme tune, it's lively and suits the theme of 'hopes and dreams'. The ending tune.. didn't really bother to listen to that because it didn't appeal to me. However the soundtracks used overall suited the anime and I'm not complaining about them.

I still think that this anime is quite confusing. Some bits in it are so random that I just can't seem to comprehend. For example, WHAT ON EARTH IS THAT 'mysterious-san'... =.= Randomly they just go into a 'haunted' place... =S He seems to have some links to one of the girls.. and some of the girls have seen him... but.. Hmm.. I just don't get it. =S
Also, i found that scene creepy. >__< (if I'm ever bothered :P )

Every character has their distinctive design; I especially like Yuriko-san, she's so pretty and cute! I think Nemu and Sakura are a bit... too thin though o_O

Anyway, good anime. watch it. ;)

Da Capo (DC) is a light and wonderful anime that one could offer. I believe that our school life only comes once in lifetime and that is the best moment in any person in this world. So I was quite happy to be able to watch an anime the talks about it. It gives me the pleasant feeling of nostalgic…

DC basically takes us traveling side by side with Asakura Junnichi (Hero) and his school life. Life is just simple as it can be for our hero, but with added spice such as Asakura Nemu (Heroine), his cousin Yoshino Sakura, his school idol Shirakawa Kotori, his childhood friend Mizukoshi Mako, and many more. These spices somehow turns into a big romance war zone, a healthy love rival can be seen here and of course you should get the main idea by now that this is actually about incest.

I don’t want to elaborate much about the story since it’ll somehow become a spoiler. Thus all I can say is that the story plot was not serious enough to compete with anime like Kimi ga Nozomo Eien (Kiminozo) or Saikano. However, I was quite satisfied with how things turn out in the end. Since this is a heart warming and light anime… Not to mention pretty straight forward, you just can’t expect much miracle anyways. So just sit back with empty head and watch is the only advice I can give you to actually enjoy this series.

The characters was what attracted to me to this series the most! What keeps me watching to the end is because I wanted to know how things going to turn out between our hero and heroine. With simple twist and some quite unexpected turn of events, the last few episodes were a real worth watch. Kotori’s voice actress, Horie Yui was a veteran in the industry and a great singer that have produced many albums. I admit I’m all crazy over Kotori and the reason is quite simple… she is the 2nd heroine, the strongest rival of Nemu, and of course the angelic song sings by her.

Music wise… this series isn’t bad at all! In fact, if comparison were made… I would say the opening Sakura Saku Mirai Koi Yume by Yozuca and both the ending Mirai he no Melody and Sonzai by the same artist CooRie was much better than Kiminozo and Saikano add together. It has been nearly a few years now since the release of Da Capo, but I’m still obsessed in the opening and both the ending. (Have them in my Mp3 player even up till today)

Overall, this anime is a worth watch if you got some extra time to spend. Da capo certainly not a Masterpiece nor did it consider as a Great anime that many will like. However, I like the way Da capo unfold itself and the atmosphere that Da Capo gives off especially the surrounding. I love the series and believe in my heart that it could never be better since it is at it’s best. Anymore spices or add-on will definitely backfire so I’ll just tell myself, this is good enough.

Sincerely in my opinion, Da Capo is a very memorable anime for me. I admit it is not as great as most anime out there but I would say that it is not the worst either. I recommend this series to anyone out there especially those who love Romances and something simple and light. Beware though, the story progress at the initial stage is rather boring. Whether you love it or hate it, it is up to you to decide but do give it a try and perhaps you might actually love it like I do.

======
Summary
======

Da Capo begins with a normal life of Junichi Asakura and adopted sister Nemu, in a normal highschool life, but its only normal to you if you live in Hatsune Jima where cherry blossoms bloom throughout the year! Not only that but people living in Hatsune Jima have there own abilities, such as Junichi Asakura who has the power to see peoples dreams.

Think that's weird? How about having a robot, a mind-reader, a tomboyish fighter, and a crazy nutcase as friends? Don't think that's weird? Lets add in a cat-girl as your maid, a grandmother who's a magican and a cousin from America that looks the same six years ago?!

Poor Junichi Asakura as he finds true romance, disires, and hidden feelings in a wacky magical tale in Da Capo.

=====
Opinion
=====

The story of Da capo is very light and confusing. "light" you say? well it's because it's 15mins long! At Ep 22 and up, it started to go on to 24mins.

Not only that, but the story slowly dies until the end of the season when they finally tell the story of the magical Island. In storywise, it kind of loose track and goes back again. Starting off with a serious matter then drifts off to something wacky like girls-on-rollerblade waitresses! Theres wacky jokes in this anime like the power rangers which is very humourous.

But in the end of the season, they get serious that it will make you shed a tear (sure did to me).

The music is very cheery which matches to the cheery characters. It sure brightens up my day.

Sadly, when it comes to the age range it's between to older chilren or to teens due to the cute characters and the adulty jokes and erotic images.

To me it's like an anime soap-oprea. It's great, love the story, but needs to stop drifting off!

Da Capo was a decent anime but after about the 7th or 8th episode things start to get confusing. The tale begins with the main character and his non-blood-related sibling, doing what they do everyday, along the way having run ins with magical cat people (huh?), Magical cat maids (eh?), and hey, why not throw in a 12 year old- like 16 year old whose in love with the main character. As the story unfolds hearts are broken and feelings are confessed, now this seems pretty much like your normal love anime doesn't it? Well, thats because it practically is.

Pros:
Cute (yet seemingly anerexic) anime characters.
An almost original plot.

Cons:
Confusing storyline.
Horrible randomness (come on man why is there some cat person who just pops out of nowhere?).
A terrible explanation (magic sakura trees eh? yea.....enough said).
Poor plot development (I honestly began to fall asleep after the first 10 episodes).

So overall i'd give this a 5.

Well, at first the story may only looks like a normal high school life with decent graphics, but how about we add a robot, a girl with telepathy, a catgirl, and a girl that never grows for 7 years??!! Well, that concoction of strange things makes Da Capo a strange and interesting anime.

Story wise, it is quite good. Each episode usually emphasizes on each of the girls in the anime. From episode 5 to 7 onwards, there are side stories which are not really interesting, but at least worth watching once. But from episode 17 onwards the story emphasizes more on Nemu and Asakura. Overall, storyline is quite good and very heart warming.

Graphics are average, but detailed and with little jerkiness. It is average is because the art is not outstanding compared to other animes from the same year as Da Capo. Overall, just decent graphics.

Sound is also average. Not much sound and sound effects that are outstanding or even worth mentioning. The opening and ending songs, however, are very good. I especially favour the 2nd ending song, Sonzai and also Horie Yui's insert song (I have forgotten the title). Overall, very good sound in the anime.

Overall, very good anime that is definitely worth watching.

Da Capo starts off like one of those series of a story about relationships and highschool life - something simple and more into reality. But then they surprise us with robots, magic, and telepathy? Da Capo really surprised me and increasingly interested me on the way to the end. What made me lose part of this interest though were the side stories, they were pointless and did not tie into the story. All they did was to introduce a new character, I don't think it improved on character development either.

The colours used in the animation is really what made the series shine, the pink and blues - soft colours is what I really like to see. I saw some reused clips but they were not extremely obvious. The character designs are nice too, for some reason, I thought every character resembled an animal. Nemu a cat, the maid a wolf, and Sakura a rabbit. So I thought this would be something similar to Kanon.

Actually, I watched around a few episodes and thought Da Capo was quite boring and I gave it another try. It gets pretty intense in terms of suspense once you get into watching it. The characters are lovable but some of them get quite annoying. In summary, Da Capo was a really enjoyable watch, I would watch it again - skipping the side stories of course.

Story
*******
Asakura Jyunichi lives with his sister Asakura Nemu, with whom he is not related by blood. Together, they attend Kazami Academy where they are in the same grade and even the same class. When Jyunichi's cousin, Sakura, comes to visit from distant America, things become more and more complicated for young Jyunichi. It seems Jyunichi's charming kindness has attracted the attention of a number of girls at his school, counted among them are his "sister" as well as his cousin, and he soon finds himself in a tight spot. Through it all though, there's one girl that stands out above the rest for him. Accepting the uncomprehending words of his closest friends, Jyunichi decides to follow his heart. But where will this decision lead him?

Sights
*******
Standard graphics with some pretty interesting effects done on the sakura tree towards the end. There is also some bearable fanservice.

Sounds
*******
Excellent sounds. One of the more pleasant aspects of this series was the music. The songs and tunes are generally light-hearted and cute.

Opinion
*******
I didn't really enjoy this series overmuch. The storyline was weak, mostly carried out in such a way that as many girls as possible could be thrown into liking Jyunichi. On the bright side, character development was done very well. Jyunichi is the typical anime male who is conveniently oblivious to the feelings of most of the girls. Meanwhile, Nemu, the main female character, was the typical female character who yearns for some sort of affection. Oi....... At any rate, my favorite character was Jyunichi's friend Suginami, who seems to believe himself the greatest person alive. He's also the only male character outside of Jyunichi who plays an active role in the story. He acts pretty much like the funny know-it-all rich guy, and I say it in good humor. The first fifteen episodes or so are slow, as they go through the day to day life of Jyunichi and his new as well as old acquaintances. The interesting stuff starts after that. The ending was alright, wrapping up very well. I think this series is one that you'll only watch once but if you have time and nothing to do try it out, it's not great in my opinion but certainly not terrible.

D.C. ~Da Capo~ was a slow and sweet anime.

Animation: Nice, crisp, and flowing. It looks like a video game would, but then again, this series is based on a vieo game. It was very colorful and drew you in.

Characters: Very varied. My first opinion. A robot, a dog-eared maid... What connection do they really have? Each episode focuses on one of a set of girls. They actually were believable even with a huge cast. Tgey were definitely cute and well-drawn.

Storyline: Da Capo started out good, but then as the series progressed it worsened. By the time it got to the last episode, I was very disappointed with the anime. Its slow progress didn't exactly help much, and the idea of a magical tree isn't really original OR fitting.

Music: Sweet, and reflects the mood of the characters it portrays.

Hm... I'm not too sure if it would be a good series to view as I didn't exactly take it to heart.

As if some kind of magic worked itself into some hentai-adapted animes, I still can not understand how they could have such a good plot in it. So far I have seen three hentai-based animes: Kanon, Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, and Da Capo; and I do admit that I sometimes got myself dumbfounded to the excellent work that each of them did. KGNE quickly shows its quality because this series presented adulthood dilemma very well. Kanon and Da Capo, although not as mind teasing as KGNE, still present sufficient amount of complexity that makes the series interesting to watch. Besides, both series are very similar to each other. Both have some element of sibling romance. There is also magical content in the story. Approximately the first two-thirds episodes are funny but the rest is a roller coaster ride. This is usually where the plot usually begins to form. Of course, a romance genre is not complete with a love triangle. People could even say that Da Capo is like Kanon, just double the duration.

Based on a lot of reviews I read from different anime sites, I learned that Da Capo follows the original hentai plot pretty closely. I have never seen how the hentai version is like, but I have to say that the stripped down version is as good as it gets. It is usually hard to skim a story and still be able to deliver an enjoyable series. Plus the fact that Da Capo confronts the audience into thinking about the morality of sibling relationship is clearly a great way to play out the series. I realize that brother-sister romance is still considered to be taboo and disgusting in a lot of places. But then here we are, watching Da Capo exploiting it to us.

I occasionally grind my teeth thinking why can't these people just choose a better way to spend their life. At the same I feel sympathy towards the emotional distress that exists between them. On one side, two cousins made a promise in their childhood that they would be together someday. On the other hand, two step-siblings were mature enough to realize that they are not related and can't avoid the forbidden attraction between them. One cannot give a better setup than this one. It is the perfect soap opera. The rest is up to the author to decide where he/she wants the story to go. Without further due, I will recommend Da Capo for those who are looking for an un-conventional romance anime to watch.
