This is possibly the most boring anime I've ever watched. The only reason I did watch it was because Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha was a spin off from this. But really, you shouldn't even bother wasting your time with it, no matter how short this is.
All the characters are boring and unoriginal. Nanoha's appearance is very minimal so don't bother watching it for that.
This is the worst storyline I've endured yet, basically, some guy protects a girl, that's it. Not much else really happens.
The music for this should be pretty good seeing as one of the characters sings a lot an you hear her songs, but there's nothing special about them at all. They're on the same level as elevator music, in one ear and out the other. Definitely not something you'd want to listen to again.
Nothing special here really, there were a few good bits during the fighting but that was about the limit of it really.

The true reason why I checked this anime out was because I found out that Magical Girl Lyrical Nanaho was a spin-off of this series and I figured if I wanted to get to know that series better, I'll have to check this out 1st. I didn't expect much and I still got disappointed.
Animation: Nothing much to complain about. It wasn't bad but it just wasn't eye stunning like many other series. It was created in 2000 so I can't really say I expected too much there. Nothing disappointed me, but nothing stunned me either. Average animation.
Audio: For a series about singer and her bodyguards, you'll think the audio would be amazing, but No! Now audio is where I expected a lot from this series but I didn't really get my wish. It's not that it was bad but it suffered what a lot of anime does with audio, not memorable and not very amusing.
Storyline and Characters: I would have seriously like it much better if it was just all action, but it isn't. You'll seriously have to sit through 20+ minutes of uninteresting conversations until you finally get to watch through some rather dull fighting scenes. The story idea itself was never used before but originality is about all this anime story deserves.
The characters are quite boring. Just like the storyline, I didn't care much for them. They were almost emotionless and I couldn't help but feel that I hardly knew anything about the characters, and you'll think that all the talking going on would explain a little about each character, but it doesn't quite work that way. They bunched up a lot of characters as possible in a story that concentrated on only 4 of the characters they introduced. The other characters feel like they were there for the comic relief, comedy being something that this anime was seriously lacking!
Not too bad if you don't mind a bunch of talking, I guess you can always fast forward to the action scenes and/or force yourself to watch through the anime like I did. I just couldn't get myself into this anime as much as I would like.
4 out of 10.

From the first episode, it's quite evident that there won't be much plot development. The fight scenes are quite entertaining though. However, the animationists were quite focused on the blood which was disturbing for me. Another thing that bothered me was the chest sizes. What is that you say? Yes this is another Harem anime, but instead of revolving around romance, it revolves around bloody violence.
With only four OVA's you would probably the the impression of being a really action-packed series (in terms of drama) However, that is not the case, the mere focus is on the fights and perhaps some background information about the characters. With the many flashbacks, you can't really derive a good plot for the anime. Even the character development was lacking. Speaking of characters, there was only one boy as the main character compared to the many many girls. If you're one of those people who makes their decision of watching anime based on the art (screen captures), ignore the ones made. They don't expose the really nice character designs, and relatively good animation. The fight scenes were exciting enough to keep my eyes open and the ending song was good enough for me to watch the whole episode. But don't except too much from this series. It will not have a great impact on you.
