Overall - 7.0
Animation - 9.0
Sound - 8.0
Story - 4.0
Character - 7.0
Value - 7.0
Enjoyment - 7.0

I always believe that the most important task of a sequel is to provide a conclusive closure to its former series. Though it may not always be possible for one sequel to cover all the unanswered questions, I would still forgive that particular series as long as it wraps up the main focal point of the story conclusively...

...and this is what Enishi almost failed. Although the series did focus on various major characters and their lives after the completion of their studies, it did a barely satisfactory job in providing a conclusive resolution about the relationship between Aoi and Kaoru, which is the main focal point of the story. Therefore, while the show certainly has its brilliant moments, it is likely to disappoint the viewers because of its mediocre ending. As a result, while I would still admit that Enishi is a quality work, but it's also very audience specific, and I reserve my recommendation for Enishi to only people who loved Ai Yori Aoshi, did not mind its fillers, and liked all the side characters in the series.

Animation
Same standard with its predecessor Ai Yori Aoshi. Excellent for 2003 production.

Sound
I loved the OP of Enishi. It's as beautiful as the OP of its former series. The ED is okay, though there is another ED which was played exclusively at the end of episode nine. That song is significantly better than the ED. BGM is as good as its predecessor. I should have given a nine in sound category, but I took off one point because of Chika's voice. She has this high, cutesy voice which I don't like. Fortunately, she was not in a spotlight after the fourth episode.

Story
Commencing two years after the events in Ai Yori Aoshi, Enishi mainly focuses on the lives of each characters and how each of them cherish the moment they were together as one of the most memorable moments of their lives. The best moments of Enishi are when Aoi was speaking about 'Enishi' (which means destiny, by the way): how she thinks everyone in the mansion (and also Mayu) were destined to meet and become friends with one another. I also liked the ninth and tenth episodes when Kaoru realized about what he wanted to do after he finishes his postgraduate studies. Kaoru told Aoi about how he will never become an extremely rich person that the Sakuraba family would expect, but he promised to become a reliable leader of the family who will not make Aoi regrets that she chose him. The last two episodes are focused on Tina and the decision she made after her graduation and they were also some of Enishi's memorable moments.

Sadly, the first half of the show is not as good as the second half. The first half of Enishi consists of those fillers similar to the fillers in the middle of Ai Yori Aoshi. There is one particular filler which is quite bad, namely the episode when Chika's friends came over to the mansion. I lowered one score in story category from six to five because of that episode. It's not until the seventh episode that Enishi would start to focus on what it is about. And while the aforementioned event between Aoi and Kaoru was impressive, but the series ended before viewers would actually see the proper resolution between these two characters. As a result, I decided to take off one more point in story category because of Enishi's barely satisfactory ending.

Character
Same characters from the original Ai Yori Aoshi. Though I gave one point lower in character category than I gave to the former series because two of the girls were more madly in love with Kaoru than the former series, and I didn't like this change.

Value
I actually had a hard time rating Enishi. My enjoyment was around seven throughout the series. Then its ending initially lowered my enjoyment to a six, but then those various scenes in the ending credit and the very last scene after the ending credit raised my enjoyment to a seven again. (Don't miss them, by the way) So my score went down from 7.2 to 6.8, and finally got back to 7.0 at the very end of the series. Thus, to me, Enishi is good, although barely. And it only managed to be good because of the foundation which had been established from its predecessor. This is a sequel which cannot stand on its own.

If you have not seen Ai Yori Aoshi, you will not enjoy Enishi. And if you did not enjoy Ai Yori Aoshi, Enishi will certainly not change your impression. The series spent half of its time on things which are not the focal point of the story. Fortunately, Enishi's characters have already been developed from its predecessor, otherwise Enishi would certainly not have been enjoyable. My recommendation for Enishi is strictly for Ai Yori Aoshi lovers only. Be prepared for a mediocre ending, and you should enjoy Enishi for the considerable moments of brilliance this series has to offer. On a final note, the manga of Ai Yori Aoshi covers more about the event in the ninth and tenth episodes of Enishi. If you liked those bits, you will find the parts before that event in the manga to be an impressive read.

A sequel to Ai Yori Aoshi. This happens two years after the original series.

Storyline/Plot: 8/10
Mainly focused on Tina. The original love/romance between Kaoru and Aoi is no longer the main plot. This is rather dissapointing, as I would have wanted to see further development in the relationship between Kaoru and Aoi. The storyline is not very detailed and well developed.

Character development: 9/10
Much character development was done on Tina. The other characters seems to have a lack of attention, though most characters did have an epidsode where they are the 'star'.

Animation/ Graphics : 9/10
Graphics and drawings were good. The quality is about the same as the original series.

Music/ Songs: 9/10
Both the opening and ending songs were good. Background music is good too.

Overall: 9/10
I know this sequel is not very wonderful but if you like Ai yori Aoshi then you would probably like Enishi as well. It would have been better if more was focused on Kaoru and Aoi. More comedy in this sequel.

Story - 8/10

This is the sequel of the original Ai Yori Aoshi, the story is set 2 years after the original and here, most episodes focus on the other characters like Mayu, Taeko, Chika and especially Tina.

Characters - 8/10

Character development for Aoi and Kaoru is limited to episode 9. Episodes 10-12 is all about Tina, quite alot about her which the original did not show.

Animation - 10/10

Yes, I will give perfect 10 score to JC Staff's works.

Music/Songs - 9/10

The opening and ending are nice and the music is good.

Overall - 35/40 (87.5%)

Not as nice as the original but definitely worth watching if you have watched the original.

It was a pleasure to see all the likeable characters from the first series. The artwork was well-done and appealing like in the first. I liked the music in this second installment better than in the first, but I also liked how the theme song from the first series was used in select parts of this second series in a nice way to accent high points.
But, unfortunately, there weren't too many significant high points in this sequel. I still wanted more between Aoi and Karou, but I didn't think this sequel delivered. Tina's "Greating", now targetting some younger kids, still isn't so good. Will someone please tell her to knock that off!
Otherwise, if you liked the first, you'll probably want to give the second series a shot. But don't expect a lot. 3 STARS. 6 out of 10 Rating.

Ai Yori Aoshi ~Enishi~ is a good continuation of the story for Aoi, Kaoru, and the rest of the gang.

Now, my opinion is that it needs to continue a bit more, like the manga does. I think that we should see an actual end to what happens between Aoi and Kaoru, since the whole. ~Enishi~ ends on too much of a "feel good but not accomplishing anything" ending with "kizuna" or bond. I understand the bond between the characters, but I feel it was lacking the closure needed if this is the last installment.

Either way, I liked the development of each of the characters, however small, and I liked the fact that it was a bit predictable, only because love in reality never goes like this and since it's an anime, a little bit of dreaming is allowed in my mind.

I was so happy upon hearing the release of Ai Yori Aoshi 2nd season or ~Enishi~
Being a Great Fan of Ai Yori Aoshi, I was really curious on the upcoming story of Kaoru and Aoi as well as the new moving in Housemate Chika!

However, being slightly little disappointed, we're not talking about Kaoru and Aoi much in ~Enishi~ here we concentrate on family ties and other support characters, especially Tina. Infact, it feels like the entire ~Enishi~ is meant for Tina.

However, ~Enishi~ is still the same Ai Yori Aoshi that carries the same harmonious atmosphere in the anime. It is just the same with the previous season with superb animation and the characters are as lovely as they can get. I was really entertained and was never regretted that I've starve myself for weeks to get this series.

Here we really talk about "Red String that symbolic Fate". This is another Heart warming series and how important is relationship, not only between lovers, as well as Friends and others. This sweet and heart warming anime is a Must See for all Anime fans, it is another master piece and I recommend those who didn

Enishi... its main saving grace is the fact that I enjoy seeing the characters and more of their development.

So two years have passed. If they didn't state that fact, you'll be forgiven for thinking that it was still in the some timeline as its prequel, Ai Yori Aoshi.

It's a major letdown. The main characters still haven't enough time for themselves to develop their relationship further. I mean it's fun seeing the other characters have a go at their run, but what about Kaoru and Aoi? Why leave them with little development?

That aside, Enishi is a decent sequel and is recomended if you enjoy watching the Ai Yori Aoshi cast return to the silver screen to go off on more madcap adventures. Personally, I enjoyed Enishi despite the fact I was hoping for more of a story between Aoi and Kaoru.

Ai Yori Aoshi ~Enishi~ was an okay but pointless sequel to the popular series Ai Yori Aoshi.

Animation: There's no question here - it's very well drawn and the colors match the characters. Designs are beautiful yet simple and they are a plus for this series.

Storyline: This didn't really get anywhere. There were episodes about events in their lives - events that really didn't progress anything from the prequel. It was nice to see more of Ai Yori Aoshi, but left you feeling empty as it didn't really go anywhere OR try to conclude anything at the end.

Characters: Characters have their distinct personalities, and they're the same as before. However, there was hardly any development. Randomness + no storyline = no development, usually. And that was what happened here.

Music/Sounds: The opening and ending was pretty nice, but it was one of those "nice" songs which you liked for a time and got bored of it afterward. They were pretty slow and got you in an emotional mood, but as the anime really didn't do anything to progress relationships or anything, it really wasn't needed.

Conclusion: Beautiful art, no storyline. Only recommended if you really want to see more of Ai Yori Aoshi or if you just want to watch something and you don't have anything else.

Cute continuation of the original, but gets a little old after a while.

If you're up for a Ranma 1/2-type story where there's nothing that really HAPPENS, then it's good. Biggest issue? There's no POINT to the series. The characters go nowhere, and the ending is such a non event you think that you must still be in the middle of the series. No, it's the ending, if it counts as one.

Other than that, the art is BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely gorgeous. The opening and ending songs are good too, but that's about it.

Overall, a little too far on the childish side.

Story
*******
Two years have come and gone for Kaoru and Aoi. Life has been marked by good memories and joyous times, silence filled with the laughter of their newly found family. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end as the threat of losing one of their own tests the strength of the bonds created between each and every one of them.

Sights
*******
The graphics were pretty much the same as the first series. Very well done.

Sounds
*******
The sounds were somewhat disappointing. The opening song was slow paced but wasn't very catchy, the ending song was even slower and even more difficult to listen to. The melodies and tunes were mostly the same ones as that of the first series. Nothing really new.

Opinion
*******
I don't know about this one. There was no real storyline, and therefore no real direction. Each episode served to expand on the character of most of the other members of the household. Despite the efforts, even characterization was rather weak. My favorite character was Mayu, whose annoying attitude was somewhat softened by her caring manner. As far as this series goes, I wouldn't ever watch it again. Personally, I think it's best to leave the story, as is, with the final episode of the first season.

This is one of those animes that just don't have any plot. Although I did not watch the whole first season this one just had a couple side stories put together to make a second season. Also the episode they chose to finish the series was really disappointing it left me feeling empty like the whole thing was just a waste of time.

Good thing about this anime was artwork, and the music was ok. I guess this would be for someone that finished watching the first season and wants to see a little bit more of Aoi.

Otherwise you will not miss out on anything interesting.

Not much is happening in this sequel to the popular romance series, Ai Yori Enishi. The format was pretty short, only 12 episodes long which seems not to be sufficient to develop the characters further. Moreover, 9 of the first episodes could definitely feel like filler episodes, in which no significant event is likely going to change the course of their lives.

Pretty much the last three episodes are the ones that really matter. This is quite bad considering that 75% of the show is basically nothing. I was somewhat disappointed with Enishi, even though I really like the first season.

Still, I do not mind watching the characters enjoying their lives and all of the hilarious oddities they cause. It was the same way they played it out in the first season.
