"Inner Universe"

Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex * OP * Origa

rAnDOm_rOguE
Beautifully atmospheric, the haunting lyrics of Inner Universe set the scene perfectly for this excellent series. The soaring vocals are matched superbly by the driving electronic beats underlying them, which portray both the philosophical and cyberpunk natures of the anime. First song I thought of for this as soon as I saw the poll.

The music is not only unique, but beautifully evokes a sense of exoticism as well. But the best thing about it is that the fusion of techno beats with Origa's folk-song'ish' voice captures the atmosphere of the world of Ghost in the Shell. After all, isn't that what an opening theme should do?

23rd Place (2-Way Tie)

"Chain"

Air Gear * OP * Back-on

Anonymous
Even though I haven't watched this anime before, when I heard this song I liked it. I finally bought a CD and listened to it everyday. Even now, on my mp3 player, it's FIRST on the playlist. "Chain" is definitely the BEST anime song for 2007.

Long_91
A very spirited song. It just makes me want to fly.

"Nagare Boshi ~Shooting Star~"

Naruto: Shippuuden * ED * HOMEMADE Kazoku

Oops_Autumn
Home Made Kazoku has done it again. Created a great song to go along with a refreshed anime. The song seems to suit the anime and gives a break from all the hard action you get from the episode.

O-Yuki
This ending theme really suits the video and the anime. If you read the lyrics, it has a nice story in it. I love the song, I like the anime and I love HOME MADE Kazoku.

22nd Place

"Thesis of a Cruel Angel"

Neon Genesis Evangelion * OP * Yoko Takahashi

Anonymous
The classic amongst anime openings/endings. Who has heard Yoko Takahashi's piece is able to recognize it just from a few notes.

batousaijin
Despite the overpowering "eighties" vibe from this song, the music is harmonious and the poetry is beautiful and stirring.

21st Place

"Zetsubou Billy"

Death Note * ED2 * Maximum the Hormone

Soloistic
Motivation by the truck full is exactly what I feel when i hear this song. Full of energy and uplifting vocals. The perfect mix of rock and metal.

Silver_Ninja
Being an avid metal/hardcore fan (to a certain extent anyway), this song managed to pique my interest. I was a bit uneasy at first when the new songs were first introduced to Death Note, considering it was a drastic change, but I quickly adapted and began to appreciate the songs (specifically "Zetsubou Billy"). I absolutely love the part of the song where the lyrics go as follows: "Zetsubou ZA BIRII iza rinri, Saa tomerarenai Eraser Rain." Good job on this song, Maximum the Hormone. :D
