I did tell you there was ecchi in this, right? | C'mon Saki, you knew what that meant. |
Okay, now tentacles... that's a little bit of a stretch. | Oh well, I'm gonna have to side with the octopus on this one. |
Dinner time... looks like... ummmm.. grape-flavored space jello? I don't think Bill Cosby approved this flavor. | Yeeeaaahhh.... let's go find a McDonald's.

"I WANT MCNUGGETS!!!!" | "Let's get back to the subject of the series, shall we?" |
"What was it again?" | "Maybe the Scoring Summary will remind us of the show's good points." |
SCORING SUMMARY:
Animation: ... quality comes and goes, but is spectacular where it counts; hardly revoluntionary, but good enough to provide for a good experience (91/100)
Characters: ... decent-size and good mix of personalities; Lala-sama is sure to be one of the icons of the year as her pressence really lights up any scene she's in; cast members interact well together and contribute greatly to each episode; Zastin and Rito provide for good comedy and story substance (92/100)
Music: ... I can't get the opening theme out of my head!!! I love it so much!!! The ending theme has equal appeal; in-episode music is kinda wishy-washy though it serves its purpose in maintaining the mood it sets to establish (91/100)
Story: ... nothing original; delicate mix of comedy, romance, drama, sci-fi, and slice-of-life is handled quite well; a lot of the focus is on the characters' individual struggles, so the story is a little slow to define itself as of this point; good prelude to a possibly top-notch show, though it's too early to tell for sure at this point (88/100)
Overall: ... the most definitive thing I can say at this point is that I am enjoying the series so far. I am a big fan of the genre and just when I've reached the point of thinking I've seen it all, I get shows like this that remind as to why I fell in love with anime in the first place. Maybe not everything makes sense and surely you have to suspend your belief in what's possible to known-science, but that's quite typical for any series. I enjoy the sci-fi elements just as much as I enjoy the daily-life elements. The ecchi may be a little too much for some, possibly scaring away a lot of the female audience. There is a great potential for this series to become a decent drama, as evidenced in one scene in episode 04 that really had me empathizing for Lala and Rito. I wouldn't put great pressure on this series to create epic drama since it is billed as a comedy more than anything, but if it were to go that route, I would be quite happy with the development. The most fun series of Spring 2008 has got to be To-LoveRu ~ Trouble. (91/100)
You just have to watch it!!! | Come on!! Let's go watch it now!!! |
