5th Pick: Soichi Negishi a.k.a Johannes Krauser II

Detroit Metal City

Imagine the struggles in life you would have to face when you are a tranquil, fun-loving, Swedish pop listening guy leading a double life on stage as the emperor of death metal. Imagine the hilarity of it all. What makes Soichi fun to watch is that he tries and I mean really tries to be the tranquil person that he is, and yet situations call for him to take on the mantle of the death metal emperor Krauser II. He leads the double life so well you may sometimes wonder who is the real person in that body, Soichi or Krauser?

4th Pick: Kogarashi

Kamen no Maid-Guy

Initially I got turned off by the idea of a burly man in a maid costume. But as boredom would have its way I tried watching the series and was quite surprised to find myself 11 episodes later and laughing my ass of every single time. Everything about him is over the top. His methods, his thinking, his abilities, his very being is over the top, I mean, who the hell has 37 senses? Can you even think of or come up with 31-32 other senses aside from the 5-6 senses humans are supposed to have? It's all these over the top things that make this character funny as hell, and the maid costume is just the cherry on top of the cake.

3rd Pick: Duke "Golgo 13" TÅ?gÅ?

Golgo 13

Here is a guy who is not only cool, calm and collected, not to mention tall, dark and handsome, and add the fact that he is the number one sniper assassin in the world what is not to like about this guy? Yes, he is not someone I would call a role model nor would I recommend his profession to anyone but you have to give him props on how professionally he does his job. Completely unbiased on who his next target would be and keeping his end of the bargain by doing the job right his level of professionalism is something to be admired.

2nd Pick: Mugen

Samurai Champloo

Brash, messy, illogical, disrespectful and unorthodox. These are qualities never used to describe an "honorable samurai" and mind you Mugen is as far away from being called anything honorable like how Pluto is far away from the sun. But these qualities and the fact that he has some kick ass fighting style gave Mugen his raw and unique personality that you can't help but take notice.

1st Pick: Kenshin Himura

Rurouni Kenshin

A complete package of a main character, that is one way to describe this legendary samurai from the Bakumatsu era. A blood stained past that would drive anyone insane gave this character a very solid backstory and depth. His struggles to keep his morals and ethics intact when situations force him to go back to his murderous ways. And a very tragic ending that let us see the deterioration of a man who is called upon time and time again out of the goodness of his heart to fight battles to protect everything he holds dear until his last moments when he is finally released from the bondage of his violent past with death in the arms of his most beloved. Agh, it makes me cry manly tears.

5th Pick: Yuki Nagato

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Living in the shadow of the enigmatic Haruhi Suzumiya sure is a vast, cold place to be. Even with the competition on her own show including the moetastic Mikuru Asahina, the bubbly Tsuruya, the near-perfect Ryoko, and the lolicon-magnet "Kyon's Little Sister", Yuki does quite well for herself without even needing to speak. The outerwordly guardian sentinal sent from the Integrated Data Entity to observe the influx of data information created by Miss Suzumiya has her work cut out for her... and kudos to the universe for creating such an adorable shell for our little Yuki-san to embody. Comes complete with fast-fingers for all your computer-hacking needs. Glasses not included.

4th Pick: Youko

Inukami!

If only real dogs were like Youko, "man's best-friend" would take on a whole new meaning. Erm, well maybe not exactly like Youko. I mean, she's kinda bossy, doesn't like to be told what to do, and isn't afraid to kick her own master's ass when he screws up (or has wandering eyes). Despite all that, she is simply adorable when she's trying to be affectionate. Never before have I had such an allure to someone with green hair. Oh yeah, and when she's ready to fight, you're better off just running. This girl can float in the air, teleport herself or others, and blast fireballs from her hands. The summation of cool and cute, right here!!

3rd Pick: Makie Sasaki

Mahou Sensei Negima!

Why do I love this girl so much? Is it her cheerful smile? Is it the boundless energy? Is it the pink-hair? I really can't put my finger on it, but all I know is that whenever this girl is on-screen, my mood greatly improves. She's the all-around nice girl... friend to everyone and always looking for fun and adventure. She cracks me up probably not for what she DOES, but rather for the things that are done TO her. Makie, don't ever change!!

2nd Pick: Kotomi Ichinose

CLANNAD

I've always had a thing for the sweet, the shy, and the smart. Kotomi leads the pack on all three of those categories. She lives in her own quiet little world tucked away in the school library for her independant study. She doesn't crave much human interaction, but really just more knowledge. I can't help but fall in love with this girl. Her gorgeous eyes, her stunning hair, the cute little ways she shuffles through life when she comes face-to-face with others. Just don't let her play the violin.

1st Pick: Minagi Tohno

Air

Why does this girl hold my heart so dearly??? She only gets about 3 episodes' worth of screentime, and yet I can't seem to ever get her off my mind. She's so soft, so gentle, so go-with-the-flow... I can't help but to adore her every move and hang on her every word. The poor girl goes through so much heartache on a day-to-day basis that it just melts my very soul to see her in such a situation. Don't worry, Minagi!!! I love you and will always remember who you are!!! I even have rice!!!
