SABER
Fate/Stay Night
jajajajaja07
Saber has everything that I like in a character; she understands and can deal with most situations she's in, from getting attacked by other servants, to confessing her love to Shirou. She has great style; I love how she is designed, from her greaves to her ahoge. She is so honorable, and always does what she thinks is best, even if it means her death. She doesn't cling to life desperately and knows when her time has come. Rarely do characters have so much going for them, which is why I personally think that she is the best character EVER.

I always have a thing for strong ,silent girls, so Saber is easily one of my favourite characters. She acts cold on the surface but actually suppressing all her emotions in order to achieve her goal. Having a master like Shirou is certainly not helping but she strives in both protecting him and chasing after the Holy Grail. Her social awkwardness is funny and cute too.

Saber represent the words of courage and loyalty, aside from the fact that she is one of the greatest/popular king (ehem queen) ever, she is also one of the most beautiful anime character I've ever seen. Because of those characteristics she is now one of the most popular female anime character in the anime universe... Kudos to Queen Arthuria.
JiraiyatheEroSennin
Beautiful knight fighting against her fate. Strong, cool and magnificent. There are not many characters I remember as well as Saber.

MONKEY D. LUFFY
One Piece
bagel42boy
No character in Anime has gone through quite the transition that Monkey D. Luffy has gone through. Long time fans of the series will understand this: Luffy began the series as a complete and utter fool, somebody that one would laugh about but not follow. Recent arcs of the series have revealed a depth to his character that I, personally, would not hesitate to follow all the way down the grand line.

Luffy has always been a solid pick for my favorite character. He's childish and stupid, but because of those qualities, he is very idealistic. He cherishes the friendships he has while maintaining that he is a badass captain of a pirate ship. :D

Luffy's a very surprising and unpredictable character which makes him the opposite of being boring. He is also a very positive, carefree, energetic and funny guy which brightens the mood in the series. He's not very smart, but his idiocity results in lots of humor which makes him fun to watch. It might sound like his dumbness may be irritating, but I can't remember I ever found him annoying. When his comrades are in danger or are given a bad name, he completely goes berserk and fights with all his might to protect them, which makes him a very loyal person. Despite being determined to fulfill his dream (and the dreams of his crewmates), he says that he doesn't care if he dies fighting for it: it's not about being possible to reach his dream, but because he wants to. That impressed me a lot.

I made up my mind to vote for a character from only one of the Big 3 animes, so I chose Luffy. I didn't vote for Luffy because he's the main character or because he has the best power or anything like that. I chose Luffy because he is the character who captures the entire essence of One Piece, and in a way, my particular taste in anime. You kind of get the feeling that One Piece is the way it is because of Luffy. He's bizarre, inspiring, and sometimes he'll make you cry. Even when he's serious and kicking ass he's still really weird. If you like things serious and realistic Luffy's not for you, but if you like a weird, cool, and somewhat charismatic character than you'll love Luffy.

SPIKE SPIEGEL
Cowboy Bebop
Mrman15
Spike Spiegel, Bounty hunter extraordinaire. Throughout the series, there is always an underlying tone of Spike's dark past, despite his carefree "living a dream" attitude. The most obvious example of this is his different colored eyes, one of which sees the present, but the other "only sees the past". This duality seems deeply ingrained in Spike, to the point where when asked why he's throwing away his life, he responds that he's "going to see if he's really alive". Conflicted and tormented by his past, something many can identify with, Spike Spiegel is a great character.
T-Rexx
Nearly always clear headed and extremely down to earth, Spike is the perfect epitome of living your life the way you want to live. He shows us what it is like to be as free as anyone can be, and the things that make even a guy like him human.
SleepyLafiel
Still the Coolest, bar none. Laid-back to the point of where he appears inept, uncaring, and lazy, Spike Spiegel, once properly motivated, can singlehandedly achieve the most impossible of goals and displays a heart that is wounded to the point where his cynicism is more than justified. As multi-layered as an onion, Cowboy Bebop is Spike's show, as it explored his motivations and cemented him firmly among the Pantheon of the all time top anime characters. He is the James Dean, the Paul Newman, and the Heath Ledger of anime and his checkout scene is, and will likely remain as, one of the top endings of all time to any anime. Here's to the Space Cowboy.
Malinor
Easily one of the coolest cats in existence. His exterior is beyond cool and really can't be easily compared to anyone else. His interior is that of a man deeply in love, fueling all of his incredible actions. Incredible.
