L must be one of the greatest detectives ever in the history of animes. In his quiet, eccentric ways, he captured my attention even before I got floored by his supreme analytical skills! L exuded a mysterious air about him that added more enigmatic effect to the whole storytelling that is Death Note. Without L, Light's potential could not have reached its height and Death Note would be less captivating without the battle of minds between the two. Even though L was killed off in the series, he was seen again briefly in the last episode, which proves that L's presence is ever significant, not only in this series, not only to Light, but to us viewers as well.

It has been almost two years since Death Note ended its epic run, but L still remains as one of my most favorite anime characters of all time. L was and still is the wittiest and intelligent character in all of Anime, and it was his courage and sense of noble justice to bring Kira down at all costs that I still admire to this very day. He is the perfect protagonist, the perfect antagonist, the perfect tactician, and the perfect comedian through his funny habits and quirks. Yes, L is quite awesome and is truly deserving of the title as the best anime character ever!

The barefoot genius with a childlike belief in justice and a mean kick that will send Kira flying. His hobbies include solving difficult cases while eating sweets in a manner hardly befitting daytime television. His apparent fondness of bondage as portrayed by the way he keeps Amane Misa for investigations, as well as his extensive use of handcuffs and hidden cameras on Light, mark him as one heck of a sadistic pervert. To confirm this, he also engages in dangerous mind games for the sole purpose of entertaining himself, under the poor excuse that he's fighting for justice. And in spite of this dark and downright evil personality, he still manages to be generally considered the good guy of the show and to become a beloved role-model for the next generation of super detectives.

Uzumi Konata is not your average high school girl. As long as she is silent you will think she is just another cute girl in sailor uniform. What about if you start knowing her? She is an OTAKU! Yes she is, and you will like her for what she is, being an manga, anime, video game addict but still able to retain her sociable, adorable, and kind character.

Konata: hardcore gamer and otaku, the character that made Lucky Star, a simple slice of life series, so entertaining. What more can I say about her other than the fact that she is the absolute epitome of her archetype?

Konata is so funny and cute! Her facial expressions and her voice make her awesome to watch. It's hilarious how she is such a good athlete and student but only wants to watch anime and read manga.

Ahhh Konata Izumi, what otaku can't relate to her? Slacking off from homework, watching anime, playing mmos, and everything else plus looking cute while doing it all. Her personality in alone will make you smile. Her silly attitude, blue hair, and green eyes will not soon be forgotten by anyone.
