ONIZUKA EIKICHI
Great Teacher Onizuka
drunks
Onizuka is one hilarious pervert. With his only reason for becoming a teacher is so that he can hook up with the school girls; and with no previous teaching skills; he turns out to be a pretty good teacher who gets the most troublesome kids in the school to like him. It always turned to be an exciting and funny adventure with onizuka around.
Malinor
One of the greatest educators out there, he teaches not what matters in the classroom but what matters to each student as a person. He gets involved and he gets his hands dirty, all for the betterment of his students.

Well, with all the hype, I thought I'd give GTO a try, and boy, even among the characters I already love, this one is truly a unique individual, and sooo entertaining! Onizuka kept surprising me with his clever street smart (and sometimes just perverted) methods of dealing with people's problems, no matter how serious they are. The most startling thing about him though is his patience and tolerance. He managed to turn my view of what seemed to be such an evil group of people to a fun loving bunch. Of course, I love the other characters in this series, but I can't stress enough that Onizuki was the one who made it that way.
Terentius
Why GTO? He is a brutish thug with a heart of gold (and a body of granite). He has put his body and his very life on the line for the sake of his students. Through this very embodiment of tough love, he gains the respect, admiration and eventually love of one of the most horrifying classes in anime history. Therein lies Onizuka's charm and charisma. He is the Homer Simpson of the anime world with one key difference. He can bench press 150 kgs, smokes like a chimney and is obsessed with anything capable of wearing a skirt. What isn't there to like about the self-professed "Greatest teacher in all Japan!" ... GTO!

Teaching is more than just books, and our fearless ex-biker turned teacher is a firm believer of this fact. Every so often, there is a disconnection between teacher and student, a line that most are not willing to cross due to complications and disappointments. Onizuka Ekichi not only breaks this line, he kicks its ass to the curb. He is more than willing to invest both time and energy into his students, teaching them, and us by extension, life lessons that will never be forgotten, and inspires them to change and grow to become productive members of society. The world truly would be a better place if all of our teachers were so willing to teach beyond the books; but if anything, we can always look to GTO for some guidance.
