This is a hilarious show with a great main story and unique characters.
Penguin Musume Heart

An amusing anime look at the world of anime. Is nothing sacred? (lol)!
Astro Fighter Sunred
T-Rexx
Sure, they are mocking everything I believed in when I was a kid, but what can I say, it is clever and hilarious every step of the way.

Strike Witches

Strike Witches is an anime of pure loli. The story was quite unique, an alien invasion back in the 1930's and little girls with magical powers are equipped with futuristic technology that would probably not be available for the next 200 years or so. It especially caught me off guard to learn that some of the girls are 20 years old. But the biggest mystery of all is why the heck are they not wearing any pants or skirts!? This anime simply attracts pedos and lolis... hahaha...
Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO 2: The Gravity Battlefront

Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae

I always liked this series due to its "point of view grudges". One person thinks that the other will be saved by this without asking. Others think it will save them from torture. Others are just shattered by someone's weaknesses.

13 episodes? Ehm, no 26. I tried this series at first because the description just sounded like a lot of fun. And it was. Although it dragged a bit (I thought it was a 13 episode series, and it would have been a lot better if it had been), it was fun to watch. It turned into a "Monster per episode" anime for a while... But no matter how predictable it became... I couldn't stop watching.
90th Place
Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto - Natsu no Sora
D2D
This is more than an anime; it's a beautiful experience to live. Atmosphere, characters, music and visuals are wonderful and it's so relaxing yet so melancholic in a way... I can only say "thanks" to whoever realised this.
89th Place
Hatenkou Yuugi
Wacko
This was a short and nice watch. I needed some new shoujo with strong heroines and bishie guys! Thumbs up for Hatenkou Yuugi!
87th Place (2-way tie)
Yakushiji Ryoko no Kaiki Jikenbo

A fun mystery anime with a taste of what good detective movies and series were like in the old days.
Golgo 13
yampal
A super sniper who makes impossible shots, but that isn't all he can do. He always comes up with the perfect plan and executes it flawlessly while paying attention to the environment around him.

Its a tough pick and ill pick this anime as one of the best of 2008. I doubt that it will be in the top of any one list or will ever be in their list. But for me space operas like this are to my liking. I missed Crest/Banner of the Stars series and this made me remember how well a space opera anime could lead to. No matter what this anime will be in my list in the best of 2008 even if its not in the top.
