Itazura Na Kiss
reika-chan
This anime continues where most anime stop, that's what made it so interesting to me. At first the story was a bit obvious and i didn't expect much of it, but once the expected had happened, they took the story one step further. What happens after two become a couple is a question left unanswered in too many anime, but here they devoted half the anime to it. The anime is filled with lighthearted comedy, but from time to time the pace changes and the story has it's moment of drama which fits really well.

All I knew about Itazura na Kiss before I started watching it was that it was going to be a romance show. And oh yeah, it certainly watch. Definately one of the best I've ever seen, if not the best. Normally I don't like everyday drama-series like Bokura ga Ita but this on had me by the throat at the first episode. Maybe it was because of the spirited personalities? or that this romance seemed doomed at the beginning? Well, it surely was something that made me fall in love with this show and watched it with pleasure every episode.

This was definitely one of my favorite anime for 2008. It was hilarious with a great story and the ending left me please with the series. I wouldn't mind another season but I definitely like it as it is.

Kure-nai

A much stronger anime than any synopsis or review could ever describe to you. The writers do a fascinating job with the protagonist's relationship to his charge, and the changes that take place between them.

Be it the characters, the story or the graphisms, Kure-nai scores very high in all the categories. The atmosphere makes it very easy to get dragged in the adventure of the cute Murasaki and we don't see the time passing for the (too) short experience it gives.

I don't know why I gave this a chance, I never usually watch this type of anime, but I am glad I did. Great characters, excellent plot that flowed perfectly with every episode. I found myself laughing a good bit throughout this anime. The development of Murasaki as she adjusted to life "outside" was perfect.

Ga-Rei - Zero
Cetonis
Ga-Rei - Zero gets off to an awfully ambitious start, and unlike many similarly inspired series past, actually comes through and fulfills that ambition. The combination of great action sequences and strong character development in a short series isn't something you come across all too often; Ga-Rei - Zero is simply a gem.

The art and animation are amazing. The action scenes are great, even the drama scenes. I really liked how each character's role developed. Ga-Rei - Zero is a really a great anime to watch.

What I learned from this show is to never, never, NEVER underestimate someone on a wheelchair. The sword fighting scenes are seriously the best I have ever seen (the wheelchair one being my favorite). Not only is the choreography extremely well done, but we can also feel all the conflicting emotions that they imply. They don't just impress you, they also make you cry.
Nodame Cantabile: Paris-hen

This one of the sequel that I highly anticipated. Since I haven’t read the manga, I was able to enjoy it to the fullest despite many people saying this is the most butchered arc from the series. |What attracts me the most is the continuation of Chiaki-Nodame relationship development since they are officially a couple and it indeed delivers. Nodame's wackiness never failed to amuse me and so do Chiaki's remark on her. I’m not really into classical music but I still found the pieces in this show beautiful. And I already can’t wait for the 3rd season.

This is a tough call to put on my lower top 5 list since I adored the surprising pace, pairings and comedy of the original. I think that it might lose a step not for being more of the same while adding a lovely backdrop of Paris, France, but that it's half the length of the first series (12 episodes this time). True a third season is coming out that might go back to being as lengthy as the first, but that doesn't mean you should miss out on this season of Noda and Chiaki! There are still some amazing musical pieces if limited that will make you love classical music, while we get to see a snippet of the ongoing antics of their relationship. And finally, it will continue adding to your vocabulary the word GYABO!

Fantastic. As good as the first series (which was terrific), the cast boasts my two favorite voice actors of all time at the height of their respective talents (Ayako Kawasumi & Tomokazu Seki). More please!!

This show somehow surprised me. I didn’t expect so much out of it. After watching the first 3 episodes I became completely addicted to it because of the way thingsare set into motion. And by the way the action is awesome, the art of the characters and the environment is really good and the story is really interesting as well.
yoza
A simple looking shounen series with all the bells and whistles we've come to expect... plus a little more.
werejo
Awesomeness of characters and an interesting setting make this series really stand out from the rest. And come on, magic AND psychic abilities? And a power that can nullify both? This show is just too awesome.
