Clannad: After Story

2008 had plenty of sequels, but Clannad ~After Story~ would have to be the best sequel by far. By expounding upon the relationship between Tomoya and Nagisa, viewers find themselves drawing closer to the characters they already grew fond of in the first season. Other than the enjoyable plot and loveable characters, Clannad ~After Story~ does a great job in the subtle things, like changing the character designs ever so slightly to reflect their growing age and maturity. Overall, Clannad ~After Story~ has been entrancing to watch thus far and, hopefully it remains that way through the rest of the series.

Even though it's still too early to tell whether the sequel will be better than its predecessor, I think KyoAni's already done a wonderful job of recapturing the essence of everything that made Clannad so great in the first place. The OP & ED are masterfully done, the animation is flawless, and the heartwarming stories with their witty humour never fail to bring a smile to my face. No matter what happens at the end, Clannad - After Story is no doubt one of the best anime of 2008.

This anime is just adorable. The story has gotten somewhat more mature than the first season, but it suits the anime even better. It's full of heartbreaking and tear-jerking moments, but it also has its funny parts which make this anime a good mix of comedy and drama. Definitely worth watching.

Clannad is the best combination of comedy and romance, so it would be strange not to vote for it. It has the best humorous scenes and makes you cry multiple times. And the most interesting about it is that most of the characters are pretty unique.
