"Ta-Da!"
Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens Final Review and Scoring
Animation Quality: The background animation is detailed and well thought out. Character designs are simple, and combined with the backgrounds, jump off of the screen. 90/100
Story Quality: The magical girlfriend and harem genres have been done to death, but Kannagi brings great comedy to the table to surpass its predecessors. Despite the fact that the story quality drops off in the end, the comedic elements are good enough to carry the show. 76/100
Characters: Jin sets himself apart from his male harem brethren, while Nagi steals the show. The periphery characters, Tsugumi in particular, also bring a lot to the table, as well as the "greek chorus" of Takako and Shino. 90/100
Music: "Motto Hade ni ne!" is irresistibly catchy and fun. Background music is so-so, and both opening and ending themes are performed well by Haruka Tomatsu. 75/100
Overall: Simply put, Kannagi uses comedy to land leaps and bounds ahead of its "magical girlfriend" predecessors. There are only a few things about the story that could be considered poorly done, and even then, it's only in comparison to the rest of the series. 83/100
Recommended: Kannagi can relate to anime viewers all across the board. If you appreciate comedy, this show is a must watch. If you like random silliness like Azumanga Daioh or Lucky * Star, you probably will like Kannagi. Also if you love harem shows, like Ichigo 100%.
Not Recommended: For anyone who is looking for a harem show specifically to see ecchi. There is a surprising lack of it. Also for anyone who only likes intense action or very serious drama series.
