Perfect Blue

Haruhifan
Not the average, run in the mill horror or drama, even with various elements similar to one from the pretty idol girl being the victim to various violent or even (gasp!) sexual situations (this movie is DEFINITELY for adults!). This one truly harkens to the psychological thrillers that would make Alfred Hitchcock proud. You feel the fear Mima does, despite her actions maybe warranting such attention or not. Can you imagine today's celebrities doing what she does in her career to then be as tortured for doing so? And this movie just kept you guessing until the end, while scaring you in ways I didn't think possible. I'm not even a big horror movie fan as I scare easily, but this scary movie
kept me looking as it kept me thinking all the way along. From the art to the music, you'll be on the edge of your seats from this movie that plays more tricks on your mind than you can count!

Kilplow
Perfect Blue is a thriller movie that was one of the first experiences with anime I had. It really did wonders to dispel the idea that anime was not cartoons. It depicts uniquely Japanese content (particularly idols and the negative view of otaku) which also made it captivating. While, I don't think it is the best thing to introduce someone with, it is an interesting movie that held my interest from beginning to end.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Solid State Society

Mastermavrick
How could I not put one of the 3Ghost in the Shell films not in my top5? Wonderful animation, great story and the idea of how a synergy of random unrelated events can cause one event that encaptures them all never ceases to amaze me.

Ghost in the Shell is in itself one of the best Universes that Asia brought up. After the almost perfect two Seasons of Stand alone complex Production I.G. closed the Stand Alone Complex "Arcs" with a nice 90+ Minute long episode in which we see everything that we loved in the Series reiterated and refined. So why wouldn't it be the best?I mean,it even has the Tachikoma and Uchikoma in it!

Kiki's Delivery Service

An excellent movie from Ghibli. Wonderful character development. It left me with a warm feeling which lingered for days.

To be honest this is more of a loyalty vote. I mean c'mon. This was one of the first anime movies I ever watched! It's just a classic and I've always loved talking cats so this was what I saw as a little kid. =D I'll always love it because it'll remind me of when I saw it as a kid. ^-^
