Final Scoring Summary
Episodes Watched: 5
Animation: Production I.G. provides high quality animation as always with a soft wash watercolor feel, different framing perspectives, and simple character designs. 95/100
Story: The story itself is simple, but is brought to life by the realistic emotions portrayed by the characters. Excellent character development and interaction. May be too 'good-goody' for some. 86/100
Characters: Kimi ni Todoke excels in presenting its characters in a way that will make the viewer fall in love with them almost instantly. Their interactions with each other drive the series. 98/100
Music: Both the opening and ending themes are soothing and relax the viewer, much like the overall experience of watching an episode does. 87/100
Overall: Kimi ni Todoke is not to be missed, even if upon first glance you wouldn't think that a series like this would be for you. It has a subtle way of pulling at your heart while never over-exaggerating the emotions involved. 92/100
Recommended: For anyone looking for a refreshing change of pace or relaxation without complexity. Also any anime fans that are also huge fans of romance and/or slice of life stories.
Not Recommended: Hnnnnn... Much like when I previewed Cross Game in the spring, I still think everyone should at least give this series a shot. Although if you're looking for action, adventure, mystery...etc. you definitely won't find it here. Also, if you tend to hate romance stories then this isn't for you.
