Even if The Daily Lives of High School Boys is a collaboration between famed studios Square-Enix and Sunrise, don't let that fool you. Although we'd love to see some legendary cutscenes from Final Fantasy or rocking mind control from Code Geass, there's nothing of the sort. Instead, the anime is about—well, the title says it all. What's it like to follow the day-to-day lives of three horny, kind of lame, yet utterly normal teenage males?
 The three male leads.

The series focuses on the antics of three best friends: Yoshitake, Tadakuni, and Hidenori. Watch as they fantasize about girls, tell corny stories to scare one another, and find themselves in other awkward situations. Their despair is exacerbated by the fact that they go to an all-boys high school. Every episode consists of several one-shots showcasing different yet small events in their lives. There's really nothing more to tell than that.
They're strange and perverted, but lovable nonetheless.

Cue romantic scene.

The series is charming. Scenarios are chosen to give an awkward yet "healthy" feel to the anime. These are mostly stereotypes, except portrayed and/or commented on by the trio of protagonists—run-of-the-mill boys with just a pinch of personality. That's something I'd usually complain about, but the choice really brings out tension and adds uniqueness to every situation. The authors stop before things go over-the-top, but there's always just enough weirdness to make you feel embarrassed. This bit of flair makes the anime one of the best comedies out this season.
