Ranks 10 - 1

3rd Place

Usagi Drop

Bunny Drop * Production I.G. * 11 Episodes * Drama/Slice of Life * A-S Link

For me the best anime of 2011, it was captivating from the very first minute to the very last second, displaying itself in a unlike style and pace. And I can't forget that anyone I know who saw Usagi Drop loved Usagi Drop no mater age or gender, and so I am gonna vote on Usagi Drop as the best slice of life anime of all time...

Being a parent is hard.... being a single parent is a trial. In Usagi Drop we get to see the trials and errors of raising a child, the sacrifices of a parent and the rewards. We get to see how two relative strangers of one family learn to be a family. It is simply a heartfelt anime that will give you a respect to those who raised you and hopefully a insight into your own adventures into parenting.

Simply put, Usagi Drop is a great heartfelt story about how a child can really turn your life upside-down, for better or worse. Both characters are very likeable and I have a great time watching the series.

2nd Place

Steins;Gate

White Fox * 24 Episodes * Action/Mystery/Psychological/Science-Fiction/Thriller * A-S Link

How far would you go to save the world, someone you love, your best friend? Steins;Gate is a time travel anime done right. Led by the best Male lead in recent memory, Rintarou Okabe, Steins;Gate will lift up your spirits to have them crushed moments later. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll ponder about the impossible choices that are made in each episode. Steins;Gate is timeless.

Definitely a top contender. I am expecting Steins;Gate to be one of the top series in this survey, if not the top. Great supporting characters, a unique take on time travel, and let's not forget the very memorable main character, "Hououin Kyouma" (Okabe Rintarou). The characters and their story interweave so well in this series and that is not an easy task to do considering time travel is involved. This particular method of time traveling is very new to me, I have never seen any other show that tried to use this method. It is very imaginative, which makes this series even better.

The best sci-fi anime of the year! It had so many good elements of humor but was also very serious. Each episode was a mystery as to what was happening. Lots of crazy twists and turns.

and which series grabbed 1st place for your favourite anime of 2011?...
