Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki
Wolf Children Ame and Yuki * Madhouse Studios * 1 Movie * A-S Link

By simply reading a simple synopsis of this movie, you could immediately come to the conclusion it will be about "growing up" and "parenting". Wolf Children is somewhat in the lines of Usagi Drop (Bunny Drop) and Kemono no Souja Erin (The Beast Player Erin) - without the politics and killing. The main character Hana, befriends a (literally) wolf man and gives births to two children. With the sudden death of the wolf man, including taking care of two children who aren't necessary fully humans, Hana is forced to moved to the countryside in order to protect her childrens' identities. What really hit me in the movie is the different paths the children take, and how difficult it truly is to raise a different type of child without guidance. Like other slice-of-life animes, you can see characters moving on and taking different paths. In Wolf Children, not only can the 2 children continue walking down the path as a human, but they have another choice: should they embrace their inner wolf? Hana on the other hand unable to finish university, is forced to move to the countryside with very little income - top it off with two difficult/ unique children to raise makes for a very unique experience. I would love to give this movie a 10/10 but there were many faults in the movie, particularly the death of the wolf man and Ame's path he took - nonetheless it was a great movie overall.

Touching story; simple in its delivery, but not lacking in its power in any way. A nice movie to watch that will touch your heart, stir your emotions, and then leave you with the small smile you get when you've watching a great movie.

Tanks and cute girls! In one side it caters to guys who like tactical battles and with lots of different kind of tanks, plus learning quite a bit about tank history especially tanks during World War II eras. While on the other side it's cute girls manning the tanks! =3 Either way it got me!

It's really unfortunate that this Anime was overshadowed by SAO. Though it's written (the novels) by the same author. It didn't get the popularity it deserved. If only it was aired during 2013... Anyway if you like SAO this is a must pick as well that's all I can say plus some may even like it more than SAO.

The protagonist is an unlikely hero and I think Snow Black hime is one of the coolest female leads that I've seen in awhile.

Space Brothers is definitely my absolute pick for the best Anime of 2012. It is so inspiring to see Mutta's trials and tribulations to rekindle his love for space and make it as an astronaut, not wanting to forget the important promise he's made with Hibito, his younger brother. Not only that, many of the other characters are very likeable as each one have their own reasons for wanting to go to space, and many of their backstories will just bring tears to your eyes. Still ongoing, I expect Space Brothers to continue being a wonderfully inspirational and emotional journey for a long time to come.
